BALINESE TOURISM

First of all I’d like say thank you for the time given to me. Honorable,

adjudicates, audience and participate in this ocation please allow me to say something

about “Balinese Tourism”.

Bali is one of island in Indonesia which famous, exciting and interesting

because it has beautiful place like Kuta and unique culture like traditional dance

which become plus value to Bali. Every day many tourist visit Bali to holiday or

having fun. That make Bali’s economic is increase. But unfortunately in the 2002 and

2005 years happened an accident in Bali where made all people in the world

especially Balinese people is very shock. In that time happened bomb which call

bomb Bali in Legian, Kuta. After that happen again bomb in Rajas Café and made

more than 200 peoples is died. It causes the tourist very afraid stay in Bali and change

out of Bali. Since that many people lost theirs job because they dependent theirs live

in tourism sector and Bali’s economic became down.

All people especially Balinese people effort raises Bali like some time ago.

But actually condition tourism in Bali is worse. Many people think that factor eminent

the condition tourism in Bali is bad because the safety is less. Happened bomb Bali in

the last time because negligence of apparatus security. So terrorist can destroy Bali.

Those make many people afraid and can’t come back to Bali. But if we look more

detail why the tourism in Bali is bad appears Bali has many problems like cleanliness,

comfort, start lost its culture. More over happen to flight ban Indonesian enterprises

flight to abroad.

Clean! Every human is like it. But unfortunately to make our place is clean we

must destroy a problem. There is rubbish. Many people still throwing away rubbish in

river or canal and other place. They think rubbish is not big problem and it not

interesting but it is affect wide for our tourism because the rubbish can make the

tourist not comfortable stay in Bali. More over rubbish can make flood. For example

some time ago had been flood in Bali and its causes many rubbish in the river or canal

and plug it. After flood many rubbish scattered around and it’s look dirty. If the tourist

stay in Hotel that area is very clean but when they out of hotel they will look many

rubbish. It can make tourist think “oh Bali is very dirty. It has much rubbish and

happen flood. I’m not comfort stay here”. That’s big problem ladies and gentleman

because it’s can damage Bali’s image.

In the safety side except bomb Bali, we has problem. There is increase

criminal. For example a woman Australian accidentally killed at her villa’s room in

North Kuta. Beside that a woman Japanese had been violent by a boy in her hotel

when she holiday in Bali and a boy is one of Balinese people. It’s very bad because

many people know that Balinese people is friendly. It’s meaning the safety is very less

more over can make again damage Bali’s image.

Beside that we have one big problem. There is flight ban Indonesian

enterprises flight to abroad. Transportation like air liner is very important to bring

tourist visit Bali. But unfortunately many accidents with airliner in Indonesia like

Adam air which falling in Makasar and until now never find. That Make American’s

governments give flight ban to Indonesia that Indonesian enterprises flight can’t go to

America. That make the quantity of tourist who visits Indonesia is about 200000

people. It’s very little because which visited Bali just ¼ of total. Except that I read an

article by Harry in Wisatanet. Com, Europe also gives flight ban to 56 Indonesian

enterprises flight since 6 July 2007 and they will extend their flight ban. It’s make the

quantity of tourist is down and we will lose devise about US$ 360 millions.

All of problem in Balinese tourism must search solution. For the rubbish

problem we can start from our self. We must conscious that cleanliness is beautiful

and create comfortable. So throwing away rubbish at its place. If we can do it, we can

invite our friends or all people to follow our activities and I believe cleanliness can

make our self comfort and healthy. So many tourists felt comfort stay in Bali.

In safety side we can imitate Singapore police. When the tourist visited

Singapore and then one of them lost his wallet, the Singapore police received its case

with fast. So he felt safely. But in Bali is different, when one of tourist lost his wallet

when he check-in in Ngurah Rai Air port, the police just blames him. Moreover the

police make tourist difficult to get loss letter. The police must increase system

security in Bali. But if all Balinese people not follow safety in Bali like police I think

safety never come to Bali.

To our enterprises flight we must repair what wrong in our airliner. So we

can’t give flight ban. The fact say when Indonesia effort repair its mistake and finally

America pull its flight ban in 23 may 2008 , the quantity of tourist which visited

Indonesia is about 2 millions and half of them visit Bali. We must do it if we want

Europe pull its flight ban. Beside that we can held associate with Europe that our

enterprises flight is good and we had been repair what wrong in the our enterprises

accordance indicate from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

But we have good news when Destin Asian Magazine change Bali as place to

tourism which good and exciting all Asian-Pacific. That’s very good, but defend

Bali’s image is good is very hard so if we have little problem lets dissolve it because a

little problem became a big problem if we not dissolve it.

Okay, I think that’s all about Balinese tourism. I’m sorry for conscious and

unconscious mistake on my word and my pronunciation. I hope may speech can give
