MENSAHE
Isang mapagpalang araw po sa ating lahat, simula ng ibigay ninyo sa
akin ang pagtitiwala sa posisyong ama ng barangay o Punong barangay
kasama ang aking bumubuo ng Sangguniang Barangay. Una ay lubos ang
aming pasasalamat sa ating dakilang lumikha, gayundin sa inyong lahat
na mga mamamayan ng Barangay Malusak.
Ako, at ang aking kasama sa Sanggunian ay walang inisip kundi
suklian ng tunay at tapat ng paglilingkod sa pamamagitan ng bukas na
aklat naming pagsasagawa ng anumang mga proyektong pangbarangay
upang sa gayon tayo ay isa sa mga barangay na matagumpay.
Sa pamamagitan ng aming mga pananaw at mga adhikain sa ating
Barangay na kapag tayo’y may pagkakaisa at nagtutulungan siguradong
ang kapalit ay malusog at maunlad na pamayanan.

TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.
Sama-samang magsimula, Walang Maiiwan sa pag-unlad ng ATIMONAN!

KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob at isa
sa labas. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay nakasulat ang mga
sumusunod:
BARANGAY MALUSAK – pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi
ng bilog.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa
barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis bilog.
LUBID NA KULAY BUGHAW na sumisimbolo sa kulay ng anyong tubig ng dagat
na kung saan ang mga mamamayan ay dito kinukuha ang pangunahing
ikinabubuhay.
KABUNDUKAN sumasagisag bilang pinagkukunan ng hanapbuhay.
PALAY isa sa pangunahing hanapbuhay sa barangay
PALAYAN sumasagisag bilang isa sa mga pinagkukunan ng hanapbuhay sa
barangay
NIYOG pangunahing hanapbuhay sa barangay.
Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayos ng opisyal
na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
KGG. ROSENDO L. AMADOR SR. – Dating Punong Barangay; na nagpatupad ng
pagkaroon ng opisyal na sagiasag ang barangay.
G. FLORENCIO VERDAN (+) – sa pagdedesinyo at pagguhit ng sagisag.
SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY (2013-2016) – sa pagbibigay ng kahulugan ng
sagisag (logo).
BB. CATHERINE F. AMPARO – Kalihim ng Barangay; para sa huling pagsasa-
ayos ng sagisag (logo).
VISION
Mapanatili ang isang mapayapang Pamayanan kasipagan, na siyang katulong sa pag-angat ng kabuhayan at mapangalagaan ang likas na yaman.
MISSION
Maayos na Pamamahala at tapat na Paglilingkod. Magkaroon
ng mapayapa, malinis, maka-Diyos nagtutulungan, at
magkakasamang, mamamayan para umunlad ang
kinabukasan at sa susunod pang Henerasyon.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY MALUSAK
Sa silangang bahagi ng bayan ng Atimonan, tatlong kilometro ang layo mula sa
baybayin ng Lamon Bay ay may isang barangay, na kung tawagin ay MALUSAK na kung
isasalin natin sa wikang Pilipino ay “putikan”.
Ayon sa ating mga ninuno bago pa dumating ang mga Kastila, sa lugar na ito ay
may mga naninirahan na, subalit ang lugar na ito ay wala pang pangalan at hindi pa rin
alam kung ano ang itatawag sa pook na ito. Noong dumating ang mga Kastila ay may isang
napakabatang sundalo na napadestino sa ating bayan. Siya ay napakahilig mamasyal at
palahanga sa kanyang mga nakikita lalong-lalo na sa mga magagandang tanawin.
Isang hapon sa kanyang pamamasyal, siya ay nakarating sa maliit na lugar na ito
na malapit sa paanan ng bundok. Nagustuhan niya ang lugar na ito at siya ay patuloy na
namasyal. Sa kalalakad niya, siya ay naligaw at napapunta sa isang lugar na putikan. Hindi
niya napansin na may dalawa palang Pilipino na nakatingin sa kanya at siya ay
pinagmamasdan. Ang dalawang Pilipino ay nagkatinginan sapagkat hindi nila ito nakikilala
at noon lamang nila ito nakita. Sila ay humanga sa kaayusan ng pananamit, sa kaanyuan at
sa kanyang pagsasalita. At habang pinagmamasdan nila ang dayuhan ay naisip nila na baka
siya ay nangangailangan ng tulong. Dali-daling nagdesisyon ang dalawang Pilipino na
tulungan ang dayuhan.
Subalit huli na ang kanilang gagawing pagtulong sapagkat nakita nilang
tumuntong na sa napakalambot na putik ang dayuhan. Napasigaw ang isa sa nakakita sa
kanya at nagwika ng, “huwag kayong tumuloy o dumaan diyan sapagkat malusak”. Natakot
ang dayuhan sa narinig na sigaw ng Pilipino sapagkat hindi niya alam kung ano ang
isinisigaw nito sa kanya at dali-daling umalis ang dayuhan para magbago ng daraanan
papuntang bayan. Habang siya ay naglalakad pauwi ay di niya malimutan ang salitang
binitiwan ng mga Pilipino. Yaon ay paulit-ulit niyang binanggit sa kanyang sarili ma - - ma -

Ito ay ipinagmamalaki ng mga mamamayan na naninirahan dito sapagkat ang
lugar na ito sa ngayon ay isa ng maunlad na barangay, may magagandang tanawin,
malawak na bukirin, may munting kapilya, may paaralang elementarya at sekundarya, may
munting pagamutan, day care center, at mga palaruang pambarangay. Ang iknabubuhay ng
mga tao ay ang pagtatanim ng palay, pagkokopra, at paghahalaman - lusak at ito ay
nanatiling palaisipan sa kanya at napagisip-isip niya na mabuti pang ang lugar na
napuntahan niya na muntik na siyang lumubog sa putik ay pangalanan ng MALUSAK.
Hanggang sa ngayon ang barangay na ito ay napatanyag sa pangalang MALUSAK. gayundin
ang paghahayupan. Mayroon ding taniman ng mga prutas at isang ilog na pangisdaan.
Anupa’t ang barangay na ito ay isang kawiliwiling tirahan para sa isang tahimik at maayos
na pamumuhay.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Malusak is one of the inner barangay of Atimonan, located about 8 kilometers
away from town’s poblacion. This barangay is 2.5 kilometers away from National Highway
bounded on the north by Barangay Talaba, on the south by Barangay Lakip, on the east by
Barangay Habingan and on the west by Barangay San Jose Balatok.
It has a total land area of 629.0989 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office
composed of seven Puroks- Purok Batami, Purok Pinaghatian, Purok Bigkis ng Pagkakaisa,
Purok Maligaya, Purok Central, Purok Bagong Sikat at Purok Sikap at Yaman.Topography of
the barangay is mostly mountainous.Almost 98% of the land is agricultural. Definitive data

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of 2014, showed that Brgy. Malusak had a population of 1,747 with
a computed population growth rate of 2.27%. There are female than male with
distribution revealing 71.49% of the total population belong to ages 10 – 59 years old; 17.57% under 1 year old to 9 year old and 10.93 belonging to 60 years old and
above. This shows that Brgy. Malusak has more working population than dependent
population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is
computed at 37 % of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic.

3.2 GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE
98.92% or 622.3283 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crop
is rice. There is no existing irrigation system that contributed to the limited production of farm
products. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for additional source of
income.
