In-Building Scenario: The Advent of 3G
Next generation wireless networks are based on huge
demand for coverage and capacity to enable broadband
and multimedia services. The picocellular architecture
requires massive rollout from simple in-building to
street-level distribution.
IN-BUILDING COVERAGE BECOMES A KEY
PART OF THE NETWORK PLANNING STRATEGY,BEING ESSENTIAL TO PROVIDE
INNOVATIVE VALUE ADDED SERVICES
AND OPTIMUM QOS.

Introducing Britecell Plus
The master unit is located with the BTS and connected viaan RF interface (coaxial cable). It can host various cardsincluding RF to optical converters, passive RF components, and a microcontroller.
RF signals are transported to the Remote Unit over single
copper mode fiber at 1310nm.
The Remote Unit, which can be up to 3 km away, has anoptical to RF converter, amplifier lineup, duplexer, and dualoutput ports. Each port can be connected to a passivecoaxial cable network.
Thanks to the wide bandwidth of the single mode fiber, allfrequencies and technologies are simultaneouslytransported.
2 BASIC COMPONENTS: the MASTER UNIT and the REMOTE UNITS
