• This is the ONLY UGC-funded undergraduate programme in Hong Kong to provide comprehensive training in the disciplines of Criminology AND Sociology

– The scientific study of the nature, extent, causes, & controlof criminal behavior in both the individual & societal settings• Topics ranging from policing to

crime prevention, from conflict management to criminal justice, from offender rehabilitation to imprisonment, from organisedcrime to sexual offending, & from green criminology to forensic criminology

– The scientific study of human social relationships& institutions• Topics ranging from crime to

religion, from the family to the state, from the divisions of race & social class to the shared beliefs of a common culture, & from social stability to radical change in whole societies

– Equip degree-level graduates with broad knowledge of criminology and sociology; and with professional competence to conduct criminological and sociological research to solve problems at the organizational, community, societal, national, and international levels, with a particular interest in protecting the public and maintaining Hong Kong's status as one of the safest cities in the world.

– The programme pays great attention to the students’ whole-person development

• A credit-bearing course – “Professional Internship in Applied Criminology & Sociology” – is offered in the Summer Term

• Overseas Exchange Programme is offered for students to study ONE semester in an overseas university (e.g., US, UK, Australia, Canada, & Taiwan)
