The SEE of ni-msme had organised a three-day (31 January – 2 February 2018) campus training on Demand Forecasting Methods and Models for Agro, Dairy and Food Enterprises, sponsored by the Bolangir Kalahandi Nuapada Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Odisha.

In the programmme that commenced on 31st January, 15 members elected to the

Board of Directors of the cooperative, as also representatives of dairy farmers of the cooperative union had participated, along with Mr. Lingaraj Baghar, Junior Assistant (P&I) of the cooperative. The main objective of the programme was to enable the dairy

units receive better forecast on demand and supply of their milk and milk products.

During the three days of sessions, modules were presented on dairy development

process, government initiatives for dairy entrepreneurship development, demand forecasting methods and models for dairy enterprises. The class-room inputs were provided by Dr. Subhash Chandra, General Manager, NABARD, and Dr. Shreekant

Sharma, AFM, SEE and programme director.

Training in Demand Forecasting Methods

Agro and dairy industry is an ancient industry dating back to the beginning of civilization and culture. As farmer is the provider of nourishment to the society, it is only fair that they get ‘nourishing’ return for the produce and product they harvest and supply. In the current times, it is equally important that they receive accurate forecasts about market fluctuations vis-à-vis the demand and supply of their products.

The Global Economic Summit 2018 was organised by the

MVIRDC World Trade Centre, Mumbai and the All India

Association of Industries during 22-24 February 2018 at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai. The theme this time was ‘Global Value Chains: Accelerating MSME Growth

Development and Sustainability’. The focus of the Summit

was on the opportunities and challenges to MSMEs to

enhance their participation in the GVCs; the relevance of GVCs to overall economic growth and sustainable development was also discussed.

The Summit examined the effects of the entire process of

producing finished products from raw materials, which activity is gradually shifting to locations wherever the necessary skills and raw materials are available at competitive cost and comparable quality. This shift

presents MSMEs with opportunities to extend beyond local

boundaries by integrating the market trends in the developing, emerging as well as the developed economies, into the value chains. The GES-2018 has provided an

excellent platform for

p o l i c y - m a k e r s a n d

b u s i n e s s l e a d e r s t o accelerate their exports and integrate with global value chains across the

s e c t o r s , i n c l u d i n g

agriculture, manufacturing and services. India can increase i ts share in

exports from the present

level of 1.65% to 3% in the

next five years if MSMEs are successfully integrated in these value chains.

Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director of ni-msme and

Mr. K. Surya Prakash Goud, Faculty Member, SED had

participated in the Summit along with stake-holders of

Tirur Virgin Coconut Oil Processing Cluster, Srikalahasti Kalamkari Crafts Cluster and Mothkur Ikat Handloom Cluster. The products of both these clusters were also

displayed on the occasion.

School of Enterprise Development (SED)

2-day workshop on Industrial Hazardous Waste AManagement in MSMEs was organised at the campus during 22-23 February 2018, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Ministry of Science and

Technology, Govt. of India. Mr. D. Srinivasa Naik, Vice-CMD,

Telangana State Leather Industries Promotion Corporation Ltd., (TSLIPC) was the chief guest of the event. Delivering the key-note address, he highlighted the activities of the TSLIPC.

Pvt. Ltd. was the guest of honour. Mr. J. Koteswara Rao, AFM-SED and workshop director stated that the objective of the workshop was to sensitise the stake-holders on management

issues like source, collection, handling, storage,

transportation, processing and disposal of industrial

hazardous waste.

Mr. G. Narendra Kumar, Enivironmental Engineer,

Telangana State Pollution Control Board; Mr. P. Veerana, Senior Environmental Scientist; Dr. S.S. Asadi. Associate Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, K.L.University,

Vijayawada were among the resource persons who

addressed the technical sessions.

The workshop was concluded through a formal valedictory session with Dr. V. Hima Bindu Professor, Centre for Environment Institute of Science &Technology, JNTUH as

the chief guest.

Earlier Mrs. V. Swapna, AFM-SEM and IPFC Incharge and Patent Registrar of ni-msme welcomed the house, while Dr. Shreekant Sharma, AFM-SEE presided over. The well

appreciated programme ended with distribution of

participation certificates to the delegates by Dr. Hima Bindu.

Workshop on Industrial Hazardous Waste Management

griculture and food processing activities have originated with the beginning of human civilisation and, without doubt, will Asustain as long as civilisation sustains. For obvious reasons: they are among the providers of primary life sustainers.

The two – agriculture and processing – are inter-linked by a sort of symbiotic relationship. Agriculture supplies the raw material that feeds the processing industry; processing absorbs the excess that agriculture is left holding post kitchen consumption supply, thus helping avoid wastage. On the flip side, processing industry contributes to national economy in a significant way by generating large scale employment at low capital cost.

In fact, processing enterprise is growing at a fabulous rate, with novelistic business avenues inviting the enterprise enthusiasts with attractive promises. Advances in technology and turn about changes in social trends are accentuating the opportunities further. Working woman having been irrevocably integrated into the country’s cultural paradigm, processed foods has the chance to rush to her aid in the kitchen. This aspect holds a huge scope for innovation and creativity both in terms of products and processes. Further, the shrinking of planet earth into a huge village due to borders between global countries being erased, the influence of inter-cultural tastes and recipes is also impacting the industry to a great extent. This unrolls a vast arena of possibilities for evolving mixed and hybridised recipes. All these are strong indicators of a bright future for enterprise promotion in food processing which will go a long way in lowering the unemployment rate.

Taking cognisance of the socio-economic significance of MSME promotion in the sector, the Govt. of India has floated a number of schemes to incentivise entrepreneurship in the sector, which are operated under the PM’s Kisan Sampada Yojana having an allocation of Rs. 6,000 crore for the period 2016-20 coterminous with the 14th Finance Commission cycle. The Yojana will be implemented by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). The schemes under the Yojana are: mega food parks, integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure, creation/expansion of food processing and preservation capacities, infrastructure for agro-processing clusters, creation of backward and forward linkages food safety, and quality assurance infrastructure, human resources and institutions. The Yojana envisages to benefit 20 lakh farmers generating 5,30,500 direct/indirect employment in the country by 2019-20. It will provide a big boost to the growth of food processing sector in the country and is a big step towards doubling the farmers’ income, creating employment opportunities in rural areas, reducing wastage of agricultural produce, increasing the processing level and enhancing the export of processed foods.

Attractive fiscal incentives too have been instated by central and state governments for setting up units in the food parks, such as capital subsidies, tax rebates, depreciation benefits, as well as reduced custom and excise duties for processed food and machinery. Of the envisaged 42 food parks and 134 cold chains, 8 and 87 have been completed respectively.

The share of food processing in the GVA of the manufacturing sector was 8.6% in 2014-15. Food processing is among the major employment intensive segments contributing 11.69% of employment generated in the organised sector (2013-14). Food processing is recognised as priority sector in manufacturing policy.

Enterprise in food processing is predominantly unorganised (42%), with small (33%) and organised (25%) following in order. With an approximate market worth of Rs. 5.5 lakh crore, the sector contributes about 14% of the manufacturing GDP, directly employs about 130 lakh people and indirectly about 350 lakh. Food processing units are easy to start up especially for women. High added-value enables high income from relatively small scales of production. Conversely, food processing entrepreneurship would improve the nation’s food security and nutritional standards.

The safety of processed foods is guarded by legislations such as Standards of Weights & Measures (Packaged Commodities), Prevention of Food Adulteration (PFA) and Fruit Products Order (FPO).

meet with representatives of industry associations, on 17th February 2018 at the Institute campus. The primary aim was to

create awareness about the

the country.

The meeting also aimed at discussing the issues and challenges faced by the MSME

sector and to design a roadmap for future collaborations

and interventions across the country.

The notable personages who attended the meet included Mr. Phanindra Gotety, Chairman, Balanagar Industrial Estate Association; Mr. Prasad Gangane, Confederation of

Indian Industries; Mr. Manne Sreenivas Rao, Federation of

MSMEs (FISME); Mr. K. Ravi Kumar, Ms. Aruna Dasari and Ms. G. Sobha, DICCI; Mr. Ananth Gotety, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Telangana; along with Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme; and members of faculty, ni-msme.

After preliminary introductions, Dr. Chaturvedi

enumerated the activities of ni-msme, and pointed out a communication gap between MSMEs and institutions. He pondered the scope for joint initiatives in capacity

building, skill development, incubation, cluster

development, environment protection, IPR, GST and agro

enterprising in order to ignite competitive spirit among the MSMEs, and sought the suggestions of the association representatives.

The faculty of ni-msme described the nature of activities of

their respective units, and outlined the programmes they

are planning to undertake. Mr. Ananth Gotety suggested that the upcoming programmes be on latest technologies, and a committee be established with industry associations,

for regular interaction and effective outcome.

The association members, listing the challenges by way of inadequate working capital, delayed payments, shortage of skilled workers, lack of employable students graduating from technical institutions, pointed out that regular

interface with different chapters of the associations across

the country might help evolve a feasible solution. They further suggested that ni-msme should involve the associations in its activities of skill training, education, policy workshops and so forth. They ratified Mr. Gotety’s

idea of forming a committee with management reps of all

associations, and convene regular bi-monthly sittings to achieve synergy.

The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by the

associations, for a satisfactory and fruitful meeting.

Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme addressing the valedictory assemblage said that the Government of India is contemplating on doubling the farmers’ income by 2022. In this context, accurate demand and supply prediction about milk and milk products would considerably help improve farmers’ income, because agile demand forecasting helps

producers sync their production with demand condition. Further, the Director asked the participants to implement their

newly acquired inputs at their work-places. With the knowledge gained and skills developed, the participants will be able

to perform their role effectively as counsellor, motivator and trainer among other farmers in the society. This would also help them to become good managers by improving their decision making skills.

Earlier, the programme director pointed out that it is imperative for all the executives concerned to adopt modern

approaches in demand forecasting for dairy enterprises. By and large, the dairy farmers in India are raising animals on

small scale, by traditional methods. They are not aware of the modern farming methods and improved techniques of dairy farming. As a result, some farmers are losing on their investment instead of profiting. Proper business plan, diligent management and care can ensure maximum production and profit for dairy farmers. Mr. Lingaraj Baghar and Mr. Kanistha Sahoo, speaking on behalf of all the participants, expressed happiness at the training and hospitality, and gratitude to

ni-msme for organising the programme. Dr. Saroj Kumar Sahoo, General Manager, Bolangir Kalahandi Nuapada Regional

Cooperative Milk Producer’s Union Ltd. Odisha appreciated his association with the Institute.

The programme concluded with the Director distributing the training certificates to the participants, followed by Mr. G. Sudarshan, Faculty Member, SEE proposing the vote of thanks.

Director Addresses African Students

r. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director of ni-msme addressed Dthe group of 40 African students at the Nizam's College,

Hyderabad on 15th February 2018, at a programme conceived as part of India-Africa partnership initiative. In his address the Director focused on the importance of

entrepreneurship for the developing nations especially.

The students were on MEA fellowships, pursuing different

disciplines of knowledge at various colleges in the twin cities. The 2-day meet was organised by the All India Management Association with the aim of creating primary

awareness about creating entrepreneurial environment,

and igniting the spark of entrepreneurship among the African students.

The Director was invited to participate in the inaugural session. He was accompanied by Mr. Vivek Kumar, AFM-SED.

Later, on the 16th, the African team

visited ni-msme campus and the Livelihood Business Incubation Centre there, along with Dr. Raj

Agrawal, Director, AIMA; Dr. J.S.

Juneja, Chairman, SME Committee,

AIMA, former CMD, NSIC, past President, AIMA; and Mr. Arun Kapoor, Deputy Director, AIMA.

Interaction sessions were also

arranged by Mr. Ankit Bhatnagar, AFM, SEM and LBI in-charge, wherein Mr. C.S. Rao, former Director, National Horticulture

Board; and Mr. C.A. Mounik, Director,

Samagra Agribusiness Services Pvt. Ltd. made detailed presentations on different aspects of agri business. The visiting students also interacted with the

trainees at the LBI.

Cluster News

Mr. Goud advised the members to deposit the SPV contribution towards hard interventions and to approach

the Chief Planning Officer for early release of MP LADS

funds. He further suggested proper maintenance of books

of accounts - cash book, ledger and other files - exclusively for the SFURTI programme. He has directed the cluster to conduct regular cluster level meetings, inviting all the key

members.

he review meeting of Pembarthi Tmetalware cluster was held on 16th

February 2018 at the Institute campus.

was to be apprised about the status of implementation of the interventions, reasons for delay in implementation, etc.

Responding to the query of Mr. Goud, the President of the

cluster narrated the reasons for delay in implementing the

interventions. The Secretary brought to light the machinery

suppliers’ request for inclusion of GST in the work order.

The SEE of ni-msme is conducting a Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WEDP) at the Institute campus from 5th February 2018 to 3rd March 2018. Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme inaugurated the programme, directed by Dr. Nune Srinivasa Rao, FM, on 5th February. Dr. Shreekant Sharma, AFM also participated in the inaugural programme, being attended by 31 prospective entrepreneurs in all.

Director was present through the event. A total of 25 prospective entrepreneurs are attending the training, which will continue up to 17th March 2018.

The valedictory of the EDP (conducted during 22 January - 17 February 2018) was held at the IIAM, on the 16th. Prof. Dr. Vijaya Rudraraju, Director, IIAM and Dr. Nune Srinivasa Rao of ni-msme, Programme Director distributed the training completion certificates to the 25 prospective entrepreneur - trainees. On the same day, the entrepreneurs visited the Vishaka Roofs Industry at Autonager, Vishakapatnam as part of their industrial tour.

Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of healthy eating habits, of exercising caution while selecting food, and called on them to develop the habit of going for

regular health check-up.

Mr. Suhail Palakkod of EDI, and the officials of YES Bank were present at the event. Doctors Ms. Fahmida Banu, Ms. Namrata Nallani and Ms. Smitha Mathur of the Fehmicare Hospital examined the blood pressure, BMI, sugar levels and nutritional

deficiency of the participants, while Dr. Sadanandam, Dr. N.V.

Swamy Naidu and Dr. H. Venkata Naidu conducted primary health check-up.

ALEAP Industrial Estate, Hyderabad

The health camp at ALEAP was conducted on the 23rd, inaugurated by the Secretary of ALEAP. MSME owners and employees had participated in the camp.

Both the initiatives came as part of the CSR project [(Promoting Environmental Sustainability and Occupational Health & Safety

for MSMEs in India) “Say Yes to Sustainable MSMEs in India”] of YES Bank, Hyderabad. The aim of the initiatives was to create awareness among the MSME and related community regarding maintaining good health and educate them in measures to be taken in that direction. Mr. G. Sudarshan , FM (SEE) coordinated these events.

Conservation, on 17th February 2018 at Siddipet. The participants were comprised of MSME executives. The resource persons who addressed

the technical sessions made all-out effort to

create awareness among the delegates regarding

the importance of energy conservation and its relevance to MSMEs.

of the YES Bank, Hyderabad.

Workshop on ZED he SEE of ni-msme had conducted an awareness Tcreation workshop on ZED certification at the Institute

campus on 12th February 2018. The event was part of CSR effort of the YES Bank, Hyderabad. About 50 persons engaged in MSMEs participated in the workshop.

Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director of ni-msme, inaugurating the workshop, observed that MSMEs should manufacture

the products in such a way that they will be free of any kind of defect or shortcoming, so that our exported products never come back to us with ‘disqualified’ tag. Also, they should be free of defects that are environment damaging, that reflect on their competitiveness and obstruct market performance. MSME performance is critical to the country’s economy as their manufacturing success is the key growth driver. Hence MSMEs should concentrate on zed certification.

Digital Marketing Workshopi-msme had organised a sensitisation workshop on NDigital Marketing at the Institute campus on 9th

February 2018. The workshop was part of CSR project of YES Bank, Hyderabad. Unit owners and employees of

MSMEs numbering 50 had participated in the workshop.

Mrs. C. Rohini, CAO of ni-msme, inaugurating the event,

pointed out that the term ‘digital marketing’ is self-explanatory. In view of technological advancements that have enabled web domains to side-step the territorial

borders, digital technology has become a great facilitator of

reaching international market segments. Digital technology has become indispensable to market research and therefore digital skills are essential for MSMEs to get

market footing.

photo exhibition was held at the campus on 14th AFebruary 2018 for the 4th batch of Digital

Photography and Videography trainees, to enable them to display their practical output.

inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp, along with the

project coordinators team of ATI, ni-msme. The objective of the exhibition was to evaluate the trainees and elicit suggestions from the external experts.

Subsequently, Mr. Chaube visited the training facility along

with administrative officer of ni-msme for monitoring the

conduct of programmes. He enquired in detail about data

management, lab facilities, and interacted with the programme faculty and participants. On the whole, he expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of ATI-ESDPs.

Eight new ESDPs were inaugurated in the month: 4 batches

of 125 hours- one each in MCP and CCNA; SQL Server DBA;

Digital Photography and Videography and Linux Administration; 3 batches of 250 hours- one each in CAD/CAM; Computer Accounting with Tally; Dot-Net

Technologies; and, 1 batch in Computer Hardware and

networking, of 300 hours duration.

ast month, this column reported that 30 Career LParamarsh Kendras (CPKs) have been set up in

different parts of West Bengal and qualified counsellors put in place at all the CPKs, in accordance with the MoU between ni-msme and the SCST Development and Funding Corporation, Govt. of West Bengal.

In further pursuance of the project, a 4-day training

programme was conducted during 7 – 10 February 2018,

for the resource persons identified as counsellors, IT assistants and registration executives.

About 30 candidates got trained in the programme,

organised by Indus Integrated Information Management (IIIM) Ltd., Kolkata. The input coverage included the topics of investment management, risk taking behaviour, business

plan preparation, and funding options.

Mr. P. Udaya Shanker, formerly director of SEM, ni-msme addressed the theme of entrepreneurship linked counselling on 9th February 2018.

Progress Report on CPK

Programme on GSThe GST Cell of ni-msme had organised a workshop on TGST for MSMEs on 8th February 2018 at the Institute

campus, sponsored by the YES Bank as part of their CSR activity. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. E. Vijaya,

Faculty Member, SEM of ni-msme.

A total of 41 participants representing the practising entrepreneurs and the start-ups had attended the workshop. The main aim of the workshop was to sensitise the participants about GST framework and its implication

for industries, registration mechanism and precautions to

be taken while filing the returns, tax invoices, etc.

Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the Institute's contributions to MSME

promotion at national and international levels. He had

pointed out that GST will have wide implications for

businesses, and it is necessary that MSMEs comply with the

new tax law passing the benefit of input tax credit to the final

consumer. He assured the participants that the GST cell of

ni-msme will help them with regard to tax compliance issues.

Mr. Rahul, Senior Manager, YES Bank was the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony. Delivering the keynote address, he spoke about YES Bank contributions and outlined their

schemes for entrepreneurs. He pointed out the need for

understanding the new tax law, and advised the delegates to take necessary steps for tax compliance under GST.

During the technical sessions, Dr. Vijaya provided insights

into the advantages of GST and discussed the impact of GST,

and basic requirements for availing input tax credit. Mrs.

Roopali, CA, facilitated practical understanding of Registration under GST and clarified about the precautions to be taken while filing the returns under GST. The participants

stated that the workshop was useful and informative. They

requested that more such programmes be conducted on GST

to enable clear understanding of the new tax law.

EDP on Financial Products and Services

he SEM of ni-msme had organised a 14-day EDP on TFinancial Products and Services, in association with

Udyogwardhini, Nasik. Sponsored by Tata Capital as part of

its CSR initiatives, the training was scheduled during 5-20 February 2018, at the Institute campus.

In all, 50 participants comprised of commerce and

management graduates, and start-ups interested in

financial sector had attended the programme. The sessions were designed with practical orientation, and made provision for interaction with successful entrepreneurs, experts, bankers, IT professionals, CAs and stock market

specialist, mutual fund savants.

The training started off with programme director Dr. E.

Vijaya outlining the programme objectives, inputs and

design. As part of training, a visit was arranged to the

National Stock Exchange (NSE), to facilitate practical insights into stock trading.

Dr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director, ni-msme, addressing the

participants during the valedictory, advised them to apply

the knowledge gained during the training to start their career in financial products and services. The programme director, speaking earlier, urged the participants to start their own enterprises, and assured them of hand-holding

support during the start-up phase.

ISO Audit Reviewn awareness and review meet was convened on ISO Aaudit of the Institute, on 2nd February 2018. All faculty

and staff of the Institute had attended the workshop. The team of audit consultants from Envirotech Quality Management, New Delhi consisted of Mr. Jayaseelan

Ganesan, Mr. Rajesh Srivastava and Mr. J.K. Srivastava. The

aim was to create awareness among the employees of ni-msme regarding the new standard ISO 9001-2015 and its benefits.

The team of consultants were in the campus to provide

consulting services for re-certification and upgradation of quality management system as per ISO 9001:2015 requirements and implementation. They enumerated the compliance requirements and documentation procedures

as per the new standard, for smooth flow of audit. Dr.

Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Director of ni-msme chaired the event, coordinated by Mrs. V. Swapna and Mr. Ankit Bhatnagar of SEM.

Competition at LBI

and Ms. Swapna, AFM, SEM inspected the display on the 7th

of February.

Ms. Nagamani appreciated the efforts made by the participants after only a short spell of skill training. Ms. Swapna announced the names of winners among the Food Processing and Apparel Manufacturing entries. Similar

events were organised on 14th February too.

Dignitaries visit LBI

r. Sanjeev Singh, CEO, Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development Mission; and Mr. G.N. Agrawal, Additional CEO, MPSSDM Mvisited the campus LBI on 24th February 2018. On the occasion, the LBI trainees organised a display of the products they had created.

The trainees interacted with the visiting dignitaries, who had appreciated the skill training at the LBI.

The visit comes as a prelude to the setting up of a state-of-the-art training centre by the MPSSDM for promoting

entrepreneurial activities in the state. The features of the campus LBI will be handy for them in giving shape to the training centre they are planning.

I quit my job couple of years ago and started my new journey, after spending good time and research I did in different

StartupYo platform is to help small business entrepreneurs, especially in the MSME sector. This platform helps to start small businesses seamlessly from idea to operation. Like once they choose a business to do, we will show the entire path

Field study for phase-IV

tudy tours were arranged for the participants of the five Sinternational training programmes comprising phase-IV, during 25 February – 16 March 2018, as also for the 4-week special batch in Capacity Building for Providing Alternative Livelihood Opportunities for Poor (CBALO),

commenced on 19th February. The selected destinations

were Mysuru and Bengaluru of the Karnataka state. The travel schedules and field visits at the destinations were organised severally for each batch.

The five regular programmes in the phase were: PAFE, THM, POME, IPMSS, and ToT-ESD. The total number of participants on tour, of all the five regular batches and the

special batch, were 159 (138+21). The organisations/

institutions for practical first-hand study were selected separately for each batch with focus on thematic relevance. The participants interacted with the functionaries, who explained the minute details with patient hospitality.

The field visit schedules included the Dept. of Industries

and Commerce, the DIC, 100% export oriented units, hotels,

resorts, wildlife sanctuaries and parks, botanical gardens, malls, handicrafts clusters, MSMEs, vocational training institute, IIM-B, Silk Board, Institute of Hotel Management, Association of Woman Entrepreneurs, RUDSETI, SHGs and

so on.

Visits to spots of tourist interest were combined with study

schedules, thus mingling recreation with serious academics, adding cheer and gaiety. On return from tour, the participants would present project reports, before

programme conclusion.

Campus Book Fairhe SENDOC of ni-msme had organised a 2-day book Texhibition at the Institute campus during 9-10

February 2018. The main objective was to guide the participants of phase-IV international training programmes to use their book allowance wisely and relevantly.

Reputed book store operators of the twin cities were invited to display a wide range of titles on topics related to the streams of knowledge connected with the training programmes underway.

Mrs. C. Rohini, Chief Administrative Officer, who inaugurated the event, complimented the book sellers on their readily obliging, and the SEIC for coordinating the event. All the faculty and staff of ni-msme were present at the

inauguration. She pointed out that the exhibition relieves the foreign participants from the tedium of going round the twin cities in search of recommended books.

The Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India who sponsor the international training programmes, provide the trainees with sumptuous book allowance to meet their reference requirements.

The participants appreciated ni-msme for organising this convenience and saving their rationed time, which they can usefully spend on their project.
