  • Boutte1. Whats new/next Denise Boutte?Where do I start? LOL! Get Ready to Tune In... For the Love of Ruth Re-airs

Sunday, June 7th (check your local listings for times) on

TV-One! The film is inspired by the Biblical story of

Ruth that at its core, is a quintessential story of love,

commitment and loyalty. Denise Boutt (Meet The

Browns) stars as Ruth, an orphan who was in search of

her place in a lonely world, until Naomi Marachond

played by Loretta Devine (Greys Anatomy) enters

her life and provides the guidance and warmth

shes been seeking. Rounding out the cast are

James Pickens Jr. (Greys Anatomy) in the role of

    Stephen Marachond, Naomis sullen brother-

in law and Gary Dourdan (CSI) as Braxton

    Marachond, damaged isolated cousin

Ruths love interest. So Loved portraying

this character! Wasnt about the hair, the

makeup, the wardrobe but was strictly

    a dramatic, character-driven role that I

had to believably ground and bring to

life. So love comedic roles but this a

    wonderful opportunity to so range

    10 Questions with

    Denise

  • and chops. Im no One-Trick Pony, LOL!

The BounceBack hits Theaters this Fall! I play

the x-wife, to Shemar Moores character, Matthew

Taylor, a relationship guru with a best selling book.

Hes on a whirlwind promotional tour, when he

meets a fellow relationship expert, portrayed by

Nadine Velazquez, who thinks hes nothing more

than a charlatan. Their professional rivalry gets

complicated when they unexpectedly fall in love.

The Choir Director: Part two of the Preachers

Son... Bishop T.K.Wilson has done all he can to

make First Jamaica Ministries a success, but with

his last choir director getting caught in a scandal,

attendance and cash flow are down. The Bishop is

now counting on a new choir director to revive the

church. Little does he know, this decision may also

put his job as Bishop in jeopardy; as well as the

    lives of his family.

I also have a Cookbook, Seasoning Blends and

a new episodes of my Cooking show, Denises

    Dish on deck!

  • 2. Why do you love acting? The freedom of expression and creativity. Its

especially fun to portray the Bad Girl Antagonist

because when the Director yells cut, and you

leave set, there are no consequences and I can

return to the cozy, comfort of home.

    3. You look great! How do you do it? Well first and foremost... Thank You! Ive never

been much on gyms so whatever I can do to

be outside, enjoying the California sun, Im

so there... Biking, hiking, tennis, jogging, you

    name it!

Confession time... I find modern days obsession

with derrieres pretty Hilarious! In high school,

I used to pray that gravity would take over and

drop that puppy but with a name like Boutte,

guess I have no choice, than to do it justice. Lol!

    4. How does YOUR starring role in TV One For The Love of Ruth impact your life today? For the Love of Ruth is an endearing story

that everyone can relate to, about the journey

through the peaks and valleys of life. I saw

the story as a humanized, more modernized

    Biblical-based story of Compassion,

Commitment and Resilience. From a career

perspective, its significant to me, in that its not

about the hair, makeup, wardrobe... Its my most

    Character-driven, Dramatic role to-date and

shows that this girl has range and chops ;-)

    5. What advice do you have for young people? To adopt the phrase Why Not Me? Wake up,

every morning with a purpose, Your purpose,

no one elses and create a vision board that you

can reflect on, to motivate you, every day.

    From a career perspective, its

significant to me, in that its not about the hair, makeup,

    Happiness, Peace, Health and

    Prosperity, with the Family and

Friends I Love and are True, by

my side, every step of the way.

    Happiness, Peace, Health and

    Prosperity, with the Family and

Friends I Love and are True, by my

side, every step of the way.

Everything else is icing on the cake

and on the vision board, wheels

    already in motion. Stay Tuned!

    7. What have been some of your favorite roles?Trina from Why Did I Get Married

is still tops on the list. That role came

at a time when I was so new to LA,

the world of acting... I mean, to be

Blessed with the opportunity to work

alongside the likes of Janet Jackson,

Jill Scott, Tyler Perry himself, folks

whos work Id admired, far before

the decision to pursue acting even

entered my mind?!?!? I still pinch

myself. My role as Simone Wilcox in

the upcoming Carl Weber film, The

Choir Director is certainly going to

get people talking. Put it this way...

    Simone makes Trina, look like

    a Saint! LOL!
