Cấu hình IBM DS4700 storage1.   Giới thiệuTrong các mạng doanh nghiệp lớn thường phải lưu trữ những database, mail khổng lồ lên tới hàng Tbyte do đó việc triển khai các storage để lưu trữ dữ liệu là thực sự cần thiết. Những hệ thống storage phải đáp ứng được tính sẵn dùng cao và hỗ trợ nhóm server có thể truy cập.Các công ty lớn ở Việt Nam như ngân hàng, công ty chứng khoán thường lựa chọn giải pháp storage của các công ty như IBM, HP. Trong bài viết này sẽ giới thiệu và cấu hình ở mức cơ bản sản phẩm storage của hãng IBM. Hình sau trình bày các dòng sản phẩm của IBM

 Các đặc điểm của sảm phẩm DS4000: - Compact, 3U rack-mountable enclosures containing dual high-performance intelligentRAID controller cards, accommodating 16 SATA or FC E-DDMs.- The maximum storage that DS4700 supports is up to 12 TB with 750 GB SATA disks and4.8 TB with 300 GB FC disks. Adding the EXP810 or EXP710 storage enclosure raisesthe size of the storage up to 84 TB using the EXP810 and to 30 TB using the EXP710.- Firmware controller Versions 9.23 and 10.10 allow the intermixing of expansion units(EXP710 and EXP810) and also the intermixing of FC and SATA disks in the sameenclosure (only for EXP810) or storage subsystem.- Utilizes 667 Mhz xScale processor with embedded XOR engines on RAID controllers.- Dual, redundant 4 Gbps RAID controllers with up to 4 GB of cache memory (2 GB perRAID controller).

- Model 70 contains 2 GB of cache memory (1 GB per controller), four 4 Gbps FC host ports(two ports per controller), and four shortwave SFP transceivers included with the shipmentgroup for connections to SAN fabric or directly to host servers.- Model 72 contains 4 GB of cache memory (2 GB per controller), eight 4 Gbps FC hostports (four ports per controller), and six shortwave SFP transceivers included with theshipment group for connections to SAN fabric or directly to host servers.- New lithium-ion battery backup protects data cache in each controller for at least 72 hours.- Hot-swappable cache backup battery.- Redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fans.- Supports RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, and 10 (RAID 1+0).- Switched loop architecture that supports two dual redundant FC disk loops.- Auto negotiates 1, 2, or 4 Gbps host connection speeds.- Supports Global Hot Spare.- Host-side connections support Fibre Channel switched, loop, or direct connections.- Redundant drive-side connections designed to avoid any single point of failure andmaintain high availability.- Supports up to six EXP810 (each EXP810 has 16 disk bays), to attach up to 112 FC disks(additional licenses required).- The following disks are supported:– 2 Gbps FC: 15 Krpm, 146 GB/73 GB/36 GB– 2 Gbps FC: 10 Krpm, 300 GB/146 GB/73 GB– 4 Gbps FC: 15 Krpm, 146 GB/73 GB/36 GB– 4 Gbps SATA: 7200 rpm, 500 GB E-DDM (SATA and FC cannot be intermixed in thesame enclosure at this time.)- Supports shortwave Fibre Channel 4 Gbps host attachment (on initial release).- Multiple heterogeneous server and operating system support (host kits required).- Both models 70 and 72 have selectable storage partitions up to 128.

 RAID controllers Each controller (see Figure 3-19) includes the following features:- Two drive ports- One RS232 serial port- Four host ports (Model 72) or two host ports (Model 70)- Dual Ethernet ports- One battery CRUThe RS232 Serial Port is a PS2 type port. This serial port is used for management anddiagnostic purposes. You can use a PC with a terminal emulation utility such as HyperTerminal to access the command set.The dual Ethernet ports accommodate an RJ-45 10BASE-Tx or 100BASE-Tx Ethernetconnection. There are two ports per controller. One port is designed for out-of-bandmanagement and the other port is meant for serviceability. This feature is similar to DS4800.Because of the extra port, it is now preferable to have two IP addresses per controller in orderto manage and service the DS4700 appropriately. You can still operate the DS4700 with onlyone IP port active per controller. You can assign either port of the two ports for managementor service on a given controller.The default IP addresses for the controller A Ethernet ports 1 and 2 are 192.168.128.101 and

192.168.129.101, respectively. The default IP addresses for the controller B Ethernet ports 1and 2 are 192.168.128.102 and 192.168.129.102, respectively. The default subnet mask forall four Ethernet ports is 255.255.255.0.

2.   Cấu hìnhQuá trình cáu DS400 sử dụng Stoage Manager version 10

 Khung bên trái, Unconfigured Capacity cho biết phần đĩa chưa được cấu hình.Chọn Show FC, ta thấy các disk kết nối đến kênh Fibre 

 Chọn Show SATA, ta thấy các disk kết nối đến kênh SATA 

 Tạo Array và Logial Drive 

 Chọn Next qua màn hình tiếm theo 

 Nhập Exchange2k7 và chọn Automatic 

 Select RAID level: chọn mức RAID 5,Select capacity: chọn dung lượng thích hợp cần dùng ứng với số disk đề xuất

Chọn Finish 

 Chọn Yes nếu uốn tạo các logical disk trong array nàyỞ đây chọn NO 

 

Hình cho thấy Array Exchange2k7 đã được tạo, tiếp theo click mục Free capacity, chọn Create Logical Drive… 

 Nhấn Next qua bước tiếp theo 

 Nhập dung lượng và tên cho Logical drive 

 Next qua bước tiếp theoDefault mapping: chọn hệ điều hành sẽ ánh xạ đến đĩa

Nhấn Finish để kết thúc 

 Chọn Yes, NextTạo disk Hcm, lấy hết dung lượng còn lại 

 Array đầu tiên với 2 logical đầu tiên dược tạo là Hanoi và Hcm được ánh xạ đến Node win 2003 cài đặt exchange 2007.Mỗi disk này dùng sẽ là 1 mailbox database tương ứng với site Hanoi và Hcm để lưu mailbox user cho mỗi site 

 Tương tự, tạo Array mới cho Solaris dùng quả lý Oracle DatabaseBạn nhập tên arayy là: Solaris-OracleChọn Manual để tự xác định dung lược và số disk sẽ dùngNext qua bước tiếp theo 

 Chọn RAID5, chọn các disk sẽ tham gia array, nhấn Add, Chọn Finish.Chọn Yes để tạo các Logical Drive 

 Chọn Yes, Next để tạo Logical Drive 

 Nhập dung lượng và tên 

 Chọn hệ điều hành Solaris mà disk sẽ ánh xạ đến, Finish.Tương tự tạo tiếp các disk: Database1,2 

 

 Mở rộng Array 

 Chọn các disk sẽ thêm vào array 

 Nhấn Add, chọn Ok 

 Array exchange2k7 đã có thêm Free capacity và có thể tạo tiếp các Logical drive 

 Tương tự, tao array Lotus-notes dùng lưu trữ mail
