A portfolio system needs THREE elements to support its existence:

a scheme to organize students’ learning a platform to converge students’

information a force to motivate students to work on

the portfolio system

ILC Experience in the past: Scheme: lost attraction, lost interest

gradually, could not keep pace with changes

Platform: technical problems came up from time to time

Force: external incentives lost impact gradually, and the portfolio could not take root seriously

Key Questions: Is the content and value of the portfolio

system inherent in the school? Does the portfolio system facilitate the

normal operation of the school curriculum?

Is there an intentionally conjoint effort to establish the meaning and culture for the values behind the portfolio system?
