Dear Sir,

Your advertisement offers a most tempting job to me. I can’t think of any job better than a management position in a well-known company like yours.

I am 28 years old, make a good appearance and get along exceedingly well with people. I graduated from School of Management of Jiaotong University. In the last 5 years, I worked as a manager in a hotel. I have

been appreciated by the president and my colleagues. In the coming July, my contract will be due.

Consequently, I have confidence in my managerial ability with what I had learned in college, and my full experience will enable me to get down to the work easily.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I am looking forward to an interview with you.

Sincerely Yours,

Han Li

Dear Xiao Ming, Very pleased to read your letter which was received the day before yesterday. Thanks for your warm greetings. As for your question of how to prepare for the coming CET-4, I’d like to put forward the following suggestions for your reference only.

Sample writing: First, set a reasonable schedule for your preparation and follow it. Second, don’t bother memorizing new words since it is an ineffective way of enlarging vocabulary. Just go over the word list for CET-4 by scanning. Third, write at least two compositions for 30 minutes, at one time and without consulting dictionaries. Fourth, do more reading comprehension, check your choices against the keys and analyze your strengths and weaknesses. Lastly, relax yourself the day before the test to replace energy.
