in the digital world. CDAHK had designed an

app for our mobile phones.

Drs Rick Lau and Valerie Chu, Public Relation

the CDAHK’s 2014 World Spine Day activities

was a Posture Check App, the product of a

collaboration between the distinguished City

U Apps Lab of City University (over 20,000

students).

This posture assessment APP, introduced

at Discovery Park by Dr Vincent Chan,

Vice Chairman of CDAHK on Sunday

October 12, allows users to assess their

posture, share to Facebook, get

recommendations, and get connected

to a CDAHK chiropractor nearby.

Students in the community and City

University were invited to the Discovery

Park by testing the APP.

The interface was designed through numerous

meetings by Dr Rick Lau (CDAHK), Dr Ray

Cheung (CityU Professor) and CityU students. Its

now so simple a child can scan grandparents

at home, teachers can scan their students,

friends can scan each other on the go. This

free app in Hong Kong’s native Chinese

language has been used widely. The Posture

Check App was rated 55 on the most

downloaded list and there was over a

thousand downloads in the first month.

CDAHK World Spine Day in Discovery Park

Spinal Screening provided by Drs Lucina

Ng, Jacky Yeung, Douglass Cheung, to

over 800 Hong Kong residents attending

an event at the Discovery Park Shopping

Center.

Celebrities Michael Wong and Janet Ma

had discussed the importance of proper

posture and showcased Straighten Up

exercises.

Doctors Can Code: Write your own App IT Workshop

At the 5th annual edition of Learning & Teaching Expo at

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dr Ray

Cheung from CityU showed a great demonstration of the

future of learning and the Spinal Screening App made by

both CDAHK and students of CityU.

City University co-organized with CDAHK, 'Doctors Can

Code' Mobile Apps Lab One on One workshops were

offered to CDAHK members in mid-Dec. Upon the

completion of the 6-hour training, the doctors finished "Ask

Doctor App" using Ionic cross-platform tool and

demonstrated a basic understanding on coding. We all

received a completion certification offered by City

University.

Dr Paul Fong (CDAHK committee) discussed about Cold

Weather and Joint Pain at TVB: Winter weather plays a

major role in the way that our body moves and interacts

with the world around us.

Yellow Page is a local search connects Hong Kong

public with over 19 million local businesses. Many

people relies on the search agent as resource to find

their doctors. Now the Hong Kong people can easily

find their chiropractor though the CDAHK listing of

Yellow Page 2015.

Dr Valerie Chu (Public Relation) was interviewed by On.cc about children scoliosis problems may harm them with improper posture, lack of exercise during the World Spine Day. Dr Chu promote ongoing wellness by removing subluxations, enabling body’s ability to heal itself. With regular adjustments, chiropractic also keeps the body balanced flexible, and feeling the best.

Share Our Philosophy with Other Professions

The Hong Kong’s World Champions share their experience on how

they recover from the injuries and persuade their dreams.

Shek Wai-hung has won Hong Kong’s first-ever Asian Games

gymnastics gold medal with a top finish in the men’s vault final after

his recovery from the cervical fractures of C4 and C5 vertebral

bodies. He was able to outperform the Olympic champion, Yang

Hakseon of South Korea at the Asia Games 2014.

Dr Eric Chu, Chairman of CDAHK, attending the dinner sharing session

"Reflection of Biomedical Scientist", by Dr David Da-i Ho (何大一), the

Taiwanese American HIV/AIDS researcher who is famous for pioneering

contributions to the understanding and treatment of HIV infection.

Dr Ho is the recipient of 12 honorary doctorates, including those from

Columbia University and City University Hong Kong. On January 8, 2001,

he was presented with the Presidential Citizens Medal by

President Clinton.

CDAHK Executives Meeting and Fellowship

Christmas brings CDAHK chiropractors and chiropractic

families together. It helps us to appreciate the loves of our

State Dinner & National Health and Family Planning Commission

It is the 4th consecutive year Dr Eric Chu,

Chairman of CDAHK attending the State

Dinner 2014 at the People’s Congress in Beijing

as a register chiropractor of Hong Kong.

Dr Eric Chu had spoken at the National Health

and Family Planning Commission about Hong Kong

Chiropractic Development and how Hong Kong

chiropractors can help the Chinese government in

its public health policy and Chiropractic legislation

in China. He later visited Dr David Bellin, Education

Advisor of CDAHK, at the Chiropractic Research

Department of Tsinghua University.
