VERBAL REPRESENTATION OF THE MENTAL PECULIARITIES OF THE POLITICAL SPHERE

The given work analyses the Ukrainian political media discourse from the per-

spective of the national image of the world and mechanisms that construct and represent the political reality by means of the Ukrainian image of the world. The article makes a study of the Ukrainian media stream cultural features based on mental images of the Ukrainians. The applicability of the article is to identify language features and socio-political situation in Ukraine that help to develop Russian-Ukrainian bilateral relations by means of Mass Media.

THE OUTSIDE OPINION AND THE ATTITUDES

OF THE RUSSIAN-SPEAKING CITIZENS OF LITHUANIA TOWARDS THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE

The aim of the article is to describe certain attitudes towards Russian language of

those Lithuanian citizens who consider Russian to be their native language. In the paper, dependence of the attitudes on external factors is analyzed, specifically on the experi-ence of social interaction and media discourse. The data of internet media is discussed, as well as materials of in-depth interviews with Russian-speaking informants that were conducted in the course of two sociolinguistic projects, Language Use and Ethnic Iden-tity in Lithuanian Cities (20072009) and A Sociolinguistic Map of Lithuania (20102012).Data analysis revealed that Russian-speaking residents of Lithuania quite often experience malevolence because of the language they use. It corresponds to the observation of media researches: in the Lithuanian media and their online comment sections, ethnic and linguistic intolerance is one of the most popular themes. Therefore in Lithuania, the linguistic existence of Russian-speaking people and their attitudes to-wards native language are psychologically complicated.

We examined professional problems, caused by special role of journalism in the

formation of civic community. The author analyzed the factors and circumstances, which determine insufficient political culture of Russian society, and also insufficient media activity in this sphere. It is established that information society changes the image of journalism, journalists, the news spreaders, they displace the news interpreters in the social networks of the Internet. We prove that if you introduce the system of pseudo-values into the mass consciousness the communication with the elements of political discourse becomes destructive according to the nature of action, brings negative moment into the situational relations between media and target audience.

CONCEPTUALIZATION OF MILITARY MEANS

IN THE POLITICIANSS SPEECH The article is devoted to the study of the conceptualization of means used in an

armed struggle in the politicians speech in the image-making aspect: the research sub-ject is the actualization of the lexical and semantic field Means used in an armed strug-gle and politicians image roles formed through this field. The author singled out mi-crofields Aggressors means and Defenders means within the field Means used in an armed struggle built on the base of the interviews of Russian, American and German leaders (V. Putin, G. Bush, A. Merkel) in 20002010. We revealed politicians image roles Patriot, Peace-lover, Defender, Caregiver, Politician appealing to unification, Poli-tician approving legitimacy through the analysis of different language means verbaliz-

Putins concep-tualization of means used in an armed struggle has the highest image-making potential proved by the amount of the Russian leaders image roles. Thus, conceptualization of means used in an armed struggle in politicians interviews has its specificity which ac-tualizes through unique image roles such as Caregiver, Politician appealing to unifica-tion (by V. Putin), Politician approving legitimacy (by A. Merkel) and also influences the perception of the speaker by the audience.
