    Valve Assembly Drawing

This bulletin covers the changes and improvements of the valve assembly drawingeffective October 25, 1999:

1.) Our old valve drawing system had a bill of material on each valve drawing. This

system had become cumbersome and almost impossible to maintain. We wereup to 2000 drawings with the prospect of adding 1000 more to our system. Itbecame apparent that we needed to change our system. That is where the ideaof using an assembly drawing and separate bill of material came into play. As ofOctober 25, 1999 each valve will not have its own drawing. Instead each valvepart number will have a separate bill of material and be assigned an assemblydrawing with an A prefix number.

2.) How will this differ from our current system? The first thing you will notice is thatthe valve drawing doesnt have the bill of material on it. Instead the bill of materialwill be separate from the drawing. You will receive both sheets of paper with

each valve you order. The second thing you will notice is that there are nodimensions on the drawings. The dimensions for the actual valve will be availablethrough Ariel Corporation along with any additional assistance you may need. The individual dimensions for springs, guide rings, valve plates etc. will be on thebill of material. Also the bill of material will carry the assembly drawing numbercorresponding to that valve.

3.) We will be sending out a spare parts program the first of next year that will allowyou to type in any valve part number and obtain the bill of materials. This willallow you to change springing and materials more easily. This will also allow Arielemployees to have access to the valve components while in the field.
