Aomori Prefecture has an optimum sporting environment to host pre-Games training camps.
Cool even in summer:located on the northern tip ofHonshu IslandAomori Prefecture is located at the northernmost point of Japan’s main island of Honshu and lies at an almost identical latitude as Rome, Madrid and New York. Its climate remains relatively cool even in summer to be ideal for the conditioning of athletes.

One of the nation’s best canoe centers:host to the Japan Cup for more than 15 yearsThe Iwaki River, which can secure a stable supply of water thanks to water discharges from the upstream Tsugaru Dam, is one of the few rivers in the country that can constantly stage canoeing events.
