CORNER

Death Dealer Nation, As the days draw shorter and the nights cooler, the battalion is nearly reformed, our reset process is rapidly drawing to a close and our formations are working more and more toward training for our next mission. I couldn’t be more proud of the Leaders, Soldiers and Families for the discipline, tenacity and teamwork displayed over the last several months. October will bring us into our last official month of reset. We will receive the remainder of our equipment and begin our training progression that will ultimately lead us to the National Training Center next June. I encourage all of you to leverage time with the family, reach out and take advantage of the many family programs coming to you this month, especially the brigade fall festival at Turkey Creek on 19 October. A hearty welcome to our new members and a fond farewell to our departing veterans; you will always have a home in the Death Dealers. v/r Joshua D. Wright LTC, IN Commander 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment Death Dealers!!! Mortus Et Destructo!!! COMM: 719-526-5291 BB: 719-337-9884 [email protected]

Death Dealer Nation, There are unique challenges to being a Soldier and a Soldier’s family. Many outside the uniform or who are not connected to the military could not grasp the sacrifices that we make on a daily basis. I believe this comes from an unbending love of country and a commitment to a defined purpose. If there is anything that I can personally do to make this unit better, please do not hesitate to contact me. My approach is simple. How I want my children to be treated directly reflects how I expect every person in Dealer Nation to treated. Finally, to my Soldiers, The expectations are High- get use to it! Our standards of discipline, training, physical, moral, ethical conduct will be of the highest caliber, I expect you to give me your best every day. Hold each other accountable. I will! And finally, as we start to do more hands on training with our weapons and vehicles, SAFETY is of the utmost importance. Muzzle awareness, 3 points of contact, driving speeds based on conditions, are all a part of our safety tool box. Remember I am not just a CSM; I am your Command Sergeant Major! Dennis L. Bellinger CSM, USA Command Sergeant Major 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment COMM: 719-526-0919

Angela Peele Angela is the new FRG Leader for FSC. She stepped into position a month and a half ago and has proven to be a huge asset to the Company and the Company’s FRG program. When asked why she is doing this, she humbly says “….because I love helping people. I am happy that I was given the chance to be a part of something so great for all families.” Angela mentioned that her role as an FRG leader has kept her feeling rewarded!! Angela’s thoughts: FSC has definitely come along way since August. We have gone from almost non existent to full force in just a short time!! It is amazing to see and be a part of this transformation with not only the Soldiers, but the families as well. We have had many more Soldiers and Families participating in meetings and events, we are working to build strong relationships, and we have accomplished so much in such a little time. We are all coming together and doing more to make our Company more of a Family.

Soldiers and Families of Assassin Company The month of September was an incredibly busy one. I know we say that every month, but it really was the busiest month since we’ve returned from Afghanistan. Our training for the first three weeks of September was all centered on, Warrior Task and Drill Training. The men of Alpha Company have worked extremely hard to ensure that they are ready for collective training in November. We are looking forward to drawing and training on our M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles this month (pictured below). We are also looking forward to conducting rifle and machine gun ranges this month and getting everyone in the company qualified on their individual weapons systems. We want to say congratulations and say thank you to SGT James Marcello for deciding to continue his service to the United States Army by reenlisting. We also want to welcome SPC Ian Blazek, 1LT Owen Davis, PVT Ivan Parras, SFC Allen Rollins, SPC David Stoich, and SPC Robert Zollman and their families to A Company. All A Company Family members are invited to attend the monthly FRG meeting! The purpose of these meetings will be to spend time together and offer support, as well as to share information of interest to families. Any and all family members are welcome—spouses and significant others, parents, siblings, friends. Children are always welcome as well. FRG meetings will have refreshments. Check the 1-67 Facebook page each month for dates and times.

CHAOS

NEWS

JIM H. FULFORD DAN R. YOKOYAMA 1SG, USA CPT, AR Company First Sergeant Commanding

Soldiers and Families of Chaos Company

Many alohas from Chaos Company! October promises to be a great month for the

Company, its Soldiers, and Families with all of the amazing events that we have lined up.

Not to mention, October means that Chaos Company will finally draw its TANKS.

First, Chaos would like to thank the Morgans for all of their hard work and dedication to the

Company. We will never forget Marilyn’s contributions to the Company and its Families.

We owe her a huge debt of gratitude for the amazing Chaos Company Dining Out event

after the Company returned from a tough year in Afghanistan. Chaos Company will truly

miss the Morgans as they move on to greener pastures out at Fort Lewis, Washington. I

would like to wish them both the best. With that, I would also like to officially welcome

Tessa Hebert and Jessica Dickson to the Chaos FRG Family. Tessa has taken the reigns

as the new Chaos FRG Leader and has been incredibly proactive in keeping the FRG on

track and ensuring that the Families and Friends of Chaos Company are being properly

cared for. Jessica Dickson selflessly volunteered to take on the role of the FRG Treasurer.

We’re incredibly grateful to both of these great women. Thank you!

September was a great month for Chaos team with the successful execution of Family

Physical Training Day at Fountain Creek Park. Special thanks to all of the Families who

showed up. We’re sure anyone will tell you that it was a nice change of pace for the

Soldiers and Families. The free doughnuts, bagels, coffee, and orange juice didn’t hurt

either. Chaos Bowling Nights also continue to receive positive feedback as the Company

grows closer. On 25 OCT 12, Chaos FRG had its first meeting under its new Leadership.

Did I forget to mention that the meeting was also a POT LUCK? Needless to say, it was a

hit!

Special acknowledgement needs to be given to the Soldiers who decided to continue to

answer the call of duty by re-enlisting. I want to honor the following Soldiers for their

continued service to the Army and our nation: SPC Wheelis and CPL Hasenmyer, you are

most deserving of our nation’s praise and gratitude. The Chaos Company family looks

forward to continue working with the both of you. Also, congratulations to both PV2 Carter

and Gust for being promoted (PVT to PV2). Both of these young gentlemen are new to the

team but have already proved their motivation to do great things for our Nation.

As mentioned, October promises to be an exciting month for the Chaos Family. October

will include drawing our tanks, small arms qualifications, Company team building events, a

revamped Physical Training program, and some quality future FRG Events. The next FRG

meeting is scheduled for 30 OCT 12. If you didn’t have the chance to make it out to

September’s meeting, please make it out for our next meeting! We look forward to

meeting and working with all of you in the future.

CHAOS! KILL ‘EM ALL!

DEMON DOG

NEWS

Soldiers and Families of Dog Company

This is another great month for the Dog Company family. We are overly excited that

over the course of this month we will receive our compliment of M1A2 SEP Tanks.

We recently promoted four Dog Company Soldiers. Congratulations to SSG Sensel,

PFC Ingoldsby, PFC Agard, and PFC Sosa. All are fine examples of professionalism,

ready for bigger challenges, and deserving of the next rank. I look forward to witnessing

their continued success.

Congratulations to SGT Mansapit and SPC Kenesik on their selection as the

September Company NCO and Soldier of the Month. Both Soldiers will represent Dog

Company at the next Battalion NCO and Soldier of the Month Board.

Dog Company proudly exceeded our retention mission for Fiscal Year 2012. It is my

belief that families make up the Army and more than ever we are re-enlisting families. I

would like to personally thank SGT Wolf and CPL Cart for choosing to continue their

military service and remain in the Dog Company family.

I would like to take a moment to thank all of our outstanding Company Family

Readiness Group Volunteers. The goal of our FRG is to foster a caring, supportive, and

responsive group that can provide assistance when needed. The next Dog Company

FRG meeting is scheduled for 24OCT12 at 6PM at the Family Readiness Center on

Fort Carson.

We have a new addition to the Demon Dog family. SPC Ulissess Irechetta and Viviana

are joining us from Fort Polk, LA. The Irechetta family is expecting a baby girl this

month. We also bid farewell to 1LT Middleton, SGT Baugaus, SGT Boyd, and SGT

Wise.

1SG Bushman and I are extremely proud of all the hard work that our Soldiers and

families commit to the cause of this nation’s freedom. It is a privilege and honor to

serve with this “band of brothers”. Thank you.

Families and Soldiers of Head Hunter Company, this was an important month for the

Company and Battalion as it’s continued towards accomplishing it’s reset mission.

The Mortar Platoon conducted the first Live Fire Exercise in the Brigade, setting the

foundation for a successful Platoon. The Battalion FIST joined them calling for fire on

static targets during a day and night iteration. Their hard work once again showed that

1-67 sets the example for the rest of the Brigade. The Company will get a chance at

the end of the month to show their prowess once again as we engage in small arms

ranges designed to start building the core competencies needed for future platoon

and company training.

The Soldiers and NCO’s have done an outstanding job in this re-organization as there

have been numerous personal moves across the Company as we transform back to

the official organization of Soldiers and Equipment from the configuration we deployed

in.

Your Soldiers exceeded all expectations in drawing vehicles for their units and

conducting drivers training and familiarization in order to re-acquaint themselves with

the vehicles they left behind. The Company has remained busy attending specialty

schools and assisting in additional tasks in preparation for future training.

The Headhunters, in line with the Battalions priorities, organized a successful and fun

Family PT run in the Garden of the Gods, giving the Soldiers and their Families a

respite from normal PT and a good forum to raise morale and build camaraderie. The

next Family PT following our run at Red Rock Canyon, 27SEP12, will be a Family

Costume PT on the 31st. Families are encouraged to dress up and meet at 0630 for

PT.

HeadHunter 6 and 7, on behalf of all HeadHunters, would like to extend their

congratulations to the following Soldiers; for their demonstrated proficiency and

sterling integrity they have earned their promotion in the Death Dealer Family: PFC

Anderson, SPC Arnau, SPC Brooks, SPC Cocharo, SPC Godfrey, PFC Green, SPC

Hawkes, SPC Henry, SPC Jurjans, SPC Kelley, SPC Marshall, PFC Mims, PFC

Oslovsky, PFC Sidorak, SPC Sikes, SPC Smith, SPC Waner, and SPC Whalen.

Additionally, we would like to thank all of the Soldiers that have reenlisted this month,

the Company was able to achieve 100% of its reenlistment mission.

Next month HHC will be holding its monthly FRG meeting on the 2nd of OCT at 6 pm in

the 1-67AR BN Conference Room. Please continue to consider volunteering as a

CARE Team member.
