The INVICTUS models that offer optional lighting control featuring vertical fluorescent lamps mounted on the inside of each incubator. These lamps are wired to the digital clock allowing for to-the-minute control of lights. Lighting control is not optional for Cat # 59-409. Please see chart for number of lamps and lumens.

The included shelves are coated with a durable epoxy finish.Shelves are supported by shelf clips allowing 0.5in (1.27cm) vertical adjustments. Lighting is included on all INVICTUS models featuring GE linear fluorescent full wattage lamps and commercial grade ballasts. Lighting control is optional. Please see below for details.

INVICTUS Cat #’s 59-400LH, 59-407LH, and 59-408LH model incubators features a filtered water fed humidistat to increase ambient chamber humidity to a comfortable Drosophila range (60-70%).

The heat transfer performance factor G* is used to evaluate the thermal performance of the coils. The G* factor shows a change in implied performance for a coil compared to a baseline coil’s new implied performance. The higher G* value, the better the thermal performance. The chart shows the thermal performance results after exposure for 1000 hours. It can be seen that INVICTUS E-coated coils have the best performance.

Included in all models, INVICTUS offers the best, most comprehensive warranty in the industry: lifetime on coil corrosion (part only); 5 year warranty on compressor motor (part only); 1 year warranty anything/everything else (parts and labor included).

BETTER COATED COILS

BIGGER COATED COILS

The corrosion performance of (baseline) bare coil, phenolic/conformal-coated coils and INVICTUS E-coated coils have been evaluated through prohesion testing. This test subjects the coils through cyclical exposure to highly corrosive solutions and regulated drying time to simulate severely corrosive environmental conditions. After 1000 hours of cyclical exposure, the corrosion performances of the coils were evaluated by visual examination and through heat transfer measurement.

Compared to standard phenolic/conformal coated coils these electrostatically (E-coat) treated coils offer the best in corrosion resistance. The coil coating is comprised of a PPG Powercron epoxy polymer formulation which is internationally recognized as the best corrosion protection for tube heat exchangers in corrosive environments. Since the coating process is immersion, rather than spray, INVICTUS coils have an unrivaled coating uniformity, which translates into better thermal conductivity performance than the competition.

The INVICTUS coils are 25% larger than typical other incubator coils which means they offer the best performance in rapid cool down and temperature recovery when the incubator door is opened. Also, bigger coils ensure tighter control over the selected temperature setting.

The INVICTUS shell is comprised of non-compressing/non-thermal conducting material sandwiched between electro-zinc plated steel (20-gauge exterior) and 040 white painted aluminium interior (INVICTUS narrow and wide incubators only) for rust resistance. Welded seams and joints of outer and inner shells make this Drosophila chamber completely self-contained. INVICTUS does not require a floor drain and hose unlike other incubators because water is evaporated from the cooling coils with the heat of the compressor. Every model also includes a caster assembly to compensate for mobility.

The INVICTUS smart compressor engages only when the chamber temperature hits the programmed low level. This feature was designed to help preserve the relative humidity in the chamber and provide better living/breeding conditions; save energy; reduce heat and noise output; and prolong compressor life. If humidity reduction is necessary a continuous run compressor reduces the relative humidity within the chamber, we offer this feature as an add-on in case humidity reduction is desired. Cat #’s 59-407LH, 59-400LH, and 59-408LH have continously running compressors.

INVICTUS Drosophila incubators have an increased high-temperature capability of 60°C* in order to perform an INVICTUS mite cycle: a 2 hour run at INVICTUS maximum temperature to kill mites that may be living in your chamber.

*INVICTUS incubators with additive humidity contain a continuous-run compressor which is necessary for optimal humidity control. Therefore, these models feature a switch in the instrument panel to shut off the refrigeration system to allow access to the 60°C temperature needed for Mite Cycle.
