The cleanest technical cut is provided by using an oscillating action in a pendulum fashion and without exerting additional pressure:

• Allows cool cutting• Increases stock removal effi ciency• Prolongs the service life of Machine and of the cut-off wheel• Retains the rail material structure• Avoids overheating and an increase in hardness• Reduces cutting time

2) On laid rails:

The compressive strain in the rail head is very high in this case. You can prevent the cut-off wheel sticking in the cutting gap. To do so, always cut the rail from bottom to top. The com-pressive strain thus becomes a tensile stress.

DeSIGNaTION Of ABRASIVE DISCS.

Designation of abrasive discs according to EN 12413:On the abrasive discs the type of grit, grit size, hardness, structure, bonding and code are indicated.

Abrasive grit

A = Standard aluminium-oxideZ = ZirconiumC = Silicon carbide

For graduations within the individual grit qualities, numbers may be added in front of the letter for the abrasive grit, e. g.:

30A = Semi-friable aluminium oxide54A = Pink aluminium oxide56A = White aluminium oxide89A = Special aluminium oxide

Grit size

Grit size in MESH acc. to FEPA standards:

4 to 24 = rough 30 to 60 = medium 70 to 220 = fi ne

Degree of hardness

The hardness is specifi ed with the letters A to Z. It increases from A to Z.

Lösungen

• Let the machines warm up for at least 60 seconds to achieve full power.

• Always move the Machine in an oscillating cut in a pendulum fashion. This minimises heat and reduces the accumulation of heat in the cutting gap (cf. Fig. p. 7).

• Always select the smallest possible rail cross-section (cf. Fig. p. 7).

• Never exceed the power limit of the motor during cutting-off. An overload can usually be heard through a drop in speed.

• Do not exert unnecessary pressure on the wheel if you want to exploit the machine‘s full power. Pressure also means damaging the rail through over heating and increasing hardness.

• Always place the wheel on the workpiece with normal force.

Please check before initial operation:

• Have you selected the correct wheel for the machine?

• Is the machine powerful enough for the task?

• Is the belt tension correctly set?

• Have you selected the recommended fuel and the oil mix ratio?

• Is the air fi lter and fuel fi lter in good condition?

• Check wheel speed shown on the label is compatible with the machine speed. If not do not use.

• Secure and mount the clamping device making sure the tolerance between pins and bushes is correct

Optimum cutting results will only be achieved if these points are taken into consideration!
