Building Types

MacGregor ’ s manufacture extremely energy efficient modular buildings

for the following markets:

Commercial Office Buildings

High Traffic Retail

Residential Housing and Resort Buildings

Industrial Buildings

Specific Purpose Buildings, such as windfarm electrical control

buildings, telecommunication tower equipment shelters, satellite

gateway buildings and hazardous material storage

Mining, Oil &Gas and Utility Camps

Disaster Relief Housing and Military Portable Shelters

Competitive Advantages

The roof and walls of our buildings are made of steel laminated closed-

cell foam core insulated panels - which economically provide an exterior

sheathing, an uninterrupted layer of insulation free from hot or cold

transfer gaps and is insect and rodent resistant, a continuous vapour

barrier and interior sheathing - all in one complete system.

The frames of our buildings are made of structural steel, which contains

mostly recycled material, and has been efficiently engineered to provide

hurricane rated strength and low maintenance in the harshest of hot and

cold, dry and corrosive environments.

The building components are prefabricated in enclosed ISO certified

facilities, greatly increasing economic efficiencies and quality control.

Our modular buildings or modular components significantly reduce

transportation cost and on-site installation time.

Degree of Fabrication of Modules

Typically, the size and purpose of the building, as well as the

method/ ’ s of transportation. determine the degree of completion of the

prefabrication process.

A completely prefabricated building, with an insulated floor,

ready for onsite installation on almost any support system: crib-

bing, sono-tubes, screw piles, cement slab, etc.

A completely prefabricated building, without a floor, ready for

onsite installation on a cement slab.

Two or more prefabricated modular buildings, ready to be joined

together onsite to create one larger building.

A series of prefabricated modular wall and roof panels, shipped

flat for efficient transportation, joined together onsite to create a

large building.

Relocatable Buildings and Camps

Designed for rapid on site assembly, the units are air-tight and

extremely energy efficient. Standard module has R23 walls and R30

floors.

The modular panels are shipped flat for efficient transportation and were

designed for transportation by the Hercules aircraft.

Each module is 8 ’ 6 ” wide by 51 ’ long and can be joined to addi-

tional modules, end to end, side to side, to form a building of any size.

Modules can also be stacked three stories on top of each other.

When it is time to relocate the buildings, disconnect the 32 bolts per

module and the vapour barrier seals along each joint, and transport the

panels flat for reconnection at the next site.

Summary of Specific Purpose Buildings

Each of these high-tech buildings are engineered to minimize costs,

including transportation; while also minimizing their environmental

impact.

We can provide the building as an empty shell, or we can provide all of

the required electrical and mechanical equipment pre-installed for

immediate on-site commissioning.

Our team offers custom designed PLC control systems, as well as

remote monitoring and alarm systems which can be installed in the

controlled environment of our fabrication facilities or installed in the field.

Each building is individually engineered to meet the demanding

requirements of its specific purpose.

Whether it is a Hazardous Materials Storage Building, the building will

keep hazardous materials in the building while placed in the most

sensitive of environments; or a Electrical Control Building, it will keep the

elements out of the building even in the harshest of environments.

Summary of All Building Types

The guiding principles behind all of our modular buildings are that they:

Maximize energy efficiency.

Minimize environmental impact.

Gain transportation efficiency by shipping in completed modules or

modular components of flat panels.

Increase quality control and reduce costs by fabricating in a

controlled environment.

Speed up project completion timelines.

Reduce on-site material waste.

Utilize proven high-quality materials.

Provide clients with a completed project on time and on budget.
