Registration Information
LOCATION: All Summer Arts classes are held at the Emporia Arts
Center at 815 Commercial Street in Emporia, KS.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: The Emporia Arts Center is NOT
responsible for a child’s care before or after a class. Please drop off and
pick up your child promptly. You (or an adult designated by you) will
be asked to sign your child in and out before leaving the area. Children
under the age of ten must be picked up from their specific classroom.
CLASS FEES: Payment is required at time of enrollment. Art supplies
for all classes are included in class fees.
ENROLLMENT: Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
EAC can “hold” your space for a class by paying in advance. If the
class is full or cancelled, we will contact you and refunds will be given.
Enrollment confirmations will NOT be sent; assume that you are
enrolled in the class for which you registered.
MAKE-UP: If a class is cancelled by EAC, a make-up class will be
scheduled. If a student is unable to attend a class, EAC is not
responsible for providing a make-up class. Class fees are not pro-rated
for classes missed or for late enrollments.
SCHOLARSHIP: EAC has a very generous scholarship fund available
for students needing financial assistance. Call (620)343-6473 or email

leave colorful tracks and unique images on your masterpiece.

Come and paint like the Masters! Students will work in a group to paint a mural
inspired by master artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Kandinsky and others. The work
will then be displayed at the Emporia Arts Center.

Students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay by creating a pinch pot.
Clay hand building is an excellent way to refine your child’s fine motor skills.

Come to play and get messy! Students will learn color theory while making a mess.
Finger painting is a carefree and fun way to develop the fundamentals of art. It’s
edible, too!

This painting class is an exciting session of sensory art exploration! Students will
utilize sight, touch, and sound through the use of jingle bells in the creative process.

Buttons make this tree pop with color. Students will glue an assortment of buttons
to construct a one-of-a-kind tree to hang on the wall.

Take playing with stamps to a whole new level! Students will be introduced to the
fundamentals of printmaking through a very basic process of the relief technique.

Drum while learning about its uses in Chinese culture. It’s the perfect project for

Missoula Children’s Theatre touring staff will teach students how to tell stories

creatures while creating your own colorful jellyfish from recycled materials.

Students will make and decorate a rainstick, a hallow tube filled with beans that
when turned upside down sounds like rain. It’s also a great craft to practice
listening skills.

Welcome to the kitchen! We’re so excited to bring culinary arts to EAC! It’s a
chance for kids to either be introduced to the preparation and elements of food,

designed to familiarize children with the fundamentals of baking and cooking
through a “hands-on” experience in a collaborative group effort. And, at the

EAC’S CULINARY ARTS STUDIO CLASSES!
Welcome to the kitchen! We’re so excited to bring culinary arts to EAC! It’s a
chance for kids to either be introduced to the preparation and elements of food,
or to continue to explore it in a fun and interactive setting. Each class is
designed to familiarize children with the fundamentals of baking and cooking
through a “hands-on” experience in a collaborative group effort. And, at the
end of class, they will taste the day’s scrumptious recipe. The experience will
enhance a child’s creativity, while building self-confidence and a life-long skill.
Our highly-qualified chefs provide an interactive learning experience that gives
children the opportunity to develop a life-long love for the culinary arts.
