Registration Information

LOCATION: All Summer Arts classes are held at the Emporia Arts

Center at 815 Commercial Street in Emporia, KS.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: The Emporia Arts Center is NOT

responsible for a child’s care before or after a class. Please drop off and

pick up your child promptly. You (or an adult designated by you) will

be asked to sign your child in and out before leaving the area. Children

under the age of ten must be picked up from their specific classroom.

CLASS FEES: Payment is required at time of enrollment. Art supplies

for all classes are included in class fees.

ENROLLMENT: Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

EAC can “hold” your space for a class by paying in advance. If the

class is full or cancelled, we will contact you and refunds will be given.

Enrollment confirmations will NOT be sent; assume that you are

enrolled in the class for which you registered.

MAKE-UP: If a class is cancelled by EAC, a make-up class will be

scheduled. If a student is unable to attend a class, EAC is not

responsible for providing a make-up class. Class fees are not pro-rated

for classes missed or for late enrollments.

SCHOLARSHIP: EAC has a very generous scholarship fund available

plant some seeds and watch them grow! Don’t forget to put it in a window when

Create a one-of-a-kind work of art by painting with soap bubbles. When the

bubbles pop, they leave a unique and colorful design.

Come and paint like the Masters! Students will work in a group to paint a mural

inspired by master artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Kandinsky and others. The work

will then be displayed at the Emporia Arts Center.

CLAY PINCH POTS Date: Tuesday, June 9 Fee: $20


Students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay by creating a pinch pot.

Clay hand building is an excellent way to refine your child’s fine motor skills.

FINGER FOOD PAINTING Date: Tuesday, June 9 Fee: $12


Come to play and get messy! Students will learn color theory while making a mess.

Finger painting is a carefree and fun way to develop the fundamentals of art. It’s

edible, too!

PAINTING WITH SOUND Date: Wednesday, June 10 Fee: $12


This painting class is an exciting session of sensory art exploration! Students will

utilize sight, touch, and sound through the use of jingle bells in the creative process.

BUTTON TREE Date: Thursday, June 11 Fee: $14


Buttons make this tree pop with color. Students will glue an assortment of buttons

to construct a one-of-a-kind tree to hang on the wall.

STAMP MAKERS Date: Friday, June 12 Fee: $16


Take playing with stamps to a whole new level! Students will be introduced to the

fundamentals of printmaking through a very basic process of the relief technique.

Students will take home a print by transferring paint to paper.

MURAL TO MUSIC Date: Tuesday, June 16 Fee: $12


We all know children love to move to music! While listening to their favorite tunes,

students will work in a group on a collaborative painting. The work will then be

displayed at the Emporia Arts Center.

monster feet to wear around the house.

Straws aren’t just for drinks! In this class students will create a unique work of art

by blowing through drinking straws onto a painted surface.

Come one, come all! Students will make the sights and sounds of the circus come

alive by creating circus-inspired art in this fun class.

MONSTERS are the star of this class! Students will hear the story Where the Wild

jewelry using repurposed materials such as bottle caps, magazines, and newspapers.

An overview of how to make ceramics, this class will cover both hand building and

wheel throwing techniques. Students will also get to make a piece of their own.

Dress for a MESS!!

Paint and juice, what could be more fun? This kid-focused painting

class is geared for parent and child. Fee includes all your supplies

and easy-to-follow instruction. Suggested for children ages six and

up. Adults without kids welcome too. Juice provided!
