Pamagat: ESTABLISHING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IITalata: Joshua 1:8Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. I. Ice-breaker (5 mins. )

Pagsambang Awitin – Ating Purihin Ang DiyosIII. Pasilitasyon (30 mins.)Facilitative Question: HOW OFTEN DO YOU READ THE BIBLE?I. READ THE WORD EVERYDAY A. Read Joshua 1:8 Facilitative Question: WHY DO YOU THINK THERE IS A STRUGGLE IN READING THE BIBLE?B. There are three ways that the Word of God shall make us prosperous and successful.

1. IT MUST NEVER DEPART FROM YOUR MOUTH. a. You have to read and speak the Word every day. What will you speak or

proclaim if you don’t know the Word? To know it, you have to read it every day then you can proclaim it. Proclaim it for it has the power to create a positive result to your life.Read Matthew 8:5-13 (let the members read with you these verses)Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

What you confess or say is what you get. For instance, you say that you will never become rich it shall come to pass but if you say, “God is going to prosper me,” this will materialize because you believe it in your heart and the Lord will guide you on how to become prosperous in this life.

2. MEDITATE THE WORD OF GOD a. What do we mean by meditation?a.1 It means to engage in contemplation or reflection

a.2 It means to focus one’s thoughts on : reflect on or ponder over Rick Warren says, the Bible says meditation is focused attention on the Word of

God. That’s actually the accurate meaning of the term. If you look up the word meditation, in any dictionary, it will tell you the synonym for the word meditation is the word rumination. It means “to go over in the mind repeatedly,” and “to chew repeatedly for an extended period,” by explaining how cows get everything that they can possible get from the grass they eat through chewing of their cud and that process is called rumination, and that is the synonym of meditation. Rumination is to digest something so completely that you strain every ounce of nutrition, and value, and vitality, out of it. And meditation is thought digestion. It means to think about something so focused—repeatedly—over and over and over and over that you get every ounce of nutrition out of it.Warren next compares worrying to meditation:

If you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate. Ok. You’re already—if you know how to worry, you already—I don’t have to teach you how to meditate, if you know how to worry. If you take a negative idea and you think about it over and over and over and over, and you ruminate on it in your mind—and have you noticed when you think about it, it gets bigger; the worry gets bigger and bigger, the more you think about it. Ok, if you can think about it—you take a negative thought—and you think about it over and over, that’s called worry.

If you take verse of Scripture, and you think about it over and over and over again—truth—that’s called meditation.

b. When you meditate the Word it must be day and night.b.1 Ask God, “Lord, what does this verse or passage mean?”b.2 As the Lord gives you the revelation write it in your personal devotional notebook

and that is the message of God for you.c.3 As you make this a habit in your life you will see the progress in your faith.

c.4 There are believers who did not make meditating the Word of God a spiritual habit in their lives that’s why their acts of worship to God are greatly affected. They prefer to linger watching Sir Chief and when they sing the song, “ ....For you alone deserve all glory, for you alone deserve all praise, Father, we love you and (we worship you this day)...please be careful with my heart.”

3. APPLY THE WORD IN YOUR LIFEDISHONESTY: BLESSING BLOCKER. One Sunday morning service a pastor preached about this topic. Many people were blessed. Late in the afternoon the pastor went home riding a bus. The conductor collected the fare of the people but he just passing by the pastor. The pastor was being tempted not to pay anymore, anyway it seemed the conductor had forgotten to get his payment. The pastor tried to pay “conductor here is my fare.” The conductor laughed with a commendation “That is what I like to you pastor, you are so honest, that is why I was so blessed with your preaching this morning.”The pastor applies what he reads and preaches from the word. When you apply the Word, there comes the blessings of God in your life.
