Brass

Brass is a metal alloy of copper and zinc. If you add a third, fourth ormore components this alloy is called special brass.

In technical characteristics, brass compared with copper is a more

solid metal and has more mechanical and corrosion resistance. For

different manufacturing methods such casting, pressing or cutting brass

is more practical and easy to use.

In our manufacturing methods we are using individual and special brass

alloy. For increasing level of brass homogeneity and complete dilutionzinc in copper, quantity of nickel increased up to 0,6%, content of

Aluminium up to 0,3-0,8%. All these additional components improved

brass resistance against the process called zinc wash-out. Relatively

high level of steel (0,7%) inside reducing the size of brass grains andincreasing of corrosion resistance. Additionally to corrosion resistance

our metal-composition also has a high level of mechanical resistance

which guarantees to the customer the long life of FEDE frames.

In the production of our frames we use traditional

methods of metal treatments, which have been used

by many generations of brass manufacturers in Spain,making it possible to create exclusive limited edition

products.

With our brass frames made by using traditional

methods, we are offering modern electrical mecha-

nisms which contain all the latest technical innova-

tions.

As a manufacturer, FEDE is not aiming for the mass-

SwitchAll switch mechanisms are fitted the latest generation of automatic connectors, independentelectrical inputs with greater coverage area for the cables. The flexible conductor is con-

nected to the terminal by lightly pressing the disconnection levels, giving a firm fasteningand perfect contact.

Sockets speed of OCSS System

FEDE sockets have an OCSS (Open Captive Screw System) connection: screws aretightened in one single operation, and they have a floating etched nut, which stops thecable from slipping, and ensures optimal fastening and total contact surface. The sockets,

which come with a separate cover, enable fast, convenient connection and screwing.

Convenient Plug SocketsSimply connect and push. All three leads enter via part of the plug socket. All three arescrewed on one single side of the plug socket.

FM tuner in each room

The core of FEDE multi-room sound system is a central unit

that is generally installed in the living room. It manages thedata transmission between the different system components,and allows the connection of different audio sources, likeCD player, home cinema, PC Soundblaster, MP3 player, etc.Besides the central unit, one easy-to-t ush-mount controlmodule must be installed in each room. Just one run of stan-dard 2x1sq. mm + 6x0,25 sq. mm cable distributes Hi-Fiaudio, intercom and power to each room. Junction boxesrightly placed will help to do the different derivations fromthe main line to the in-wall keypads.

A simple standard speaker cable (right channel and leftchannel) is enought to connect the wall control modules withthe in-ceiling or wall-mount speakers.

By using a 25W central unit the system is allowed to powerup to a maximum of ten stereo control keypads. If a 60Wcentral unit was used instead, up to twenty stereo controlmodules would be allowed without any extra power supply.Further addition of in-wall control modules to the multi-room

sound system must follow the rule of one extra US 50 power

supply unit for each twenty keypads.Every control module is able to drive two FEDE speakers. Ifactive speakers are used, up to six speakers can be connec-ted to each control keypad. The number of active speakers inthe system must be considered when calculating the systempower consumption in order to know if extra power supplyunits or a more powerful central unit must be installed.

The connection of domotic interfaces to the system main line

will allow FEDE control modules to perform electronic door-phone and telephone functions.

It is highly recommended to pre-install a separated trunkingfor the multi-room audio system, independent from the con-duits used for general power, lighting, etc. This will ensurethat no alterations affect the audio quality.

There exist great variety of options in our catalogue.

Once chosen, we will check that the TOTAL of the MECHANISMS allows for all the modules to remain covered. Wemust bear in mind that when choosing two narrow keys switches, also two switches are needed, and not one, so thetotal of the mechanisms could be higher than the total of frames and fixing supports. In any case, we could not havemore frames than mechanisms.
