    Welcome to USSA’s 2013 Season!

I can’t wait to hit the ice and get the season going.

We have been exploring avenues that can make USSA and oval racing stronger. We would like

to make all of our members feel welcome and a valuable member of the organization.

As the season draws near follow us with updates and class information on our Website as well

as Facebook. If you have ideas on how to promote the sport, race sites or USSA please feel free

to contact us. Your board has been working on more venues as well as working with our current

promoters to help make them more successful in our current economic climate.

USSA is strong and will be here for years to come and working together we can ensure great

racing into the future. Look forward to seeing you at the race track.

SCORING METHODS FOR HEATS AND ROUNDIn classes that run heats or rounds the following parameters are to be observed. E

method used for scoring purposes only. T

    The amount of

rules for classes with the level of competition allowed for an elimination process to be involved. They will appear on the line for

    T

with 6 or more sleds will run the prescribed heats or rounds dictated for the class and will be scored in the same fash-ion. First place in each heat receives one point, second place, two points, and so forth. T

Cbe called to the line in the order of scoring, with the lowest points earned receiving choice on the line. Subsequent

    If

round/heat will receive the higher position. Special Notice: Promoters options for special shows and individuals will from time to time supersede this practice.

*Normal operations regulations call for 5 feet per sled of open, comparable surface on the starting line per sled. An example is: a 30-foot wide ice surface on an oval track start line would safely serve 6 sleds. By our parameters we

would only start 5 sleds on this surface, to insure maximum safety.

POINTS DETERMINED IN ROUNDS:  To score points in a round format • • If a sled does not appear in a round, you will receive points based on number of sleds in the heat, plus one point. • If a sled crashes or drops out of a round for physical or mechanical reasons, it is scored

    • • • • • All classes with rounds. In the event multiple drivers end up in a tie, and we must use a LCQ we will

allow all remaining drivers to participate in the LC

POINTS DETERMINED IN HEATS:To score points in a heat format, • • Drivers who drop out with mechanical or physical problems will be scored last, unless several sleds drop out,

in which case they will scored in the order they dropped out. • Drivers who crashed out will be scored last, unless several sleds crashed out, in which case the sleds that traveled

the farthest will be scored higher than the other sled/sleds that crashed in order of incident. • • •

    Hello, my name is Alex

    is Kloehn your 2013 F

ld like to take this opp

    ortunity to

    welcome racers and ra

    tunity to be

    crowned Fire on Ice Q

    ueen couldn’t be more

    of an accomplishmen

t for me. I am very pro

    ud to hold this

    title and represent Fir

e on Ice, it means the

world to me. I have bee

    n involved with Fire on

    Ice for the last

7 years, so I know how

    much hard work that

    not only the board mem

    bers, but the volunteer

    s, do to put

    on this great event. O

    ver the past few years

    , I have watched this e

    vent grow along with m

    any others and

I am very proud of wh

    at it has become.

I would have to say wit

hout the Fire on Ice B

oard, I would not be th

e person I am today fo

    r many

    reasons. This group of

    adults has presented

    me with so many grea

    t opportunities to try

    new things and

    help out within our co

    mmunity. Over the pas

    n able to travel around

    Wisconsin to

    many other great race

    venues and experienc

    e things I never thoug

    s getting to

    see my first World Cha

    obile Derby.

I have also had the gr

    eat opportunity to be

a part of the Team Beh

    n Racing group and th

    ey have

    showed me the ins and

    outs of snowmobile r

    acing. This group has

    taught me many thing

    s about racing

but the main one is th

at a race team isn’t jus

    t a race team, it’s a fam

ily. I am very proud to

    be a part of

    that family.

I would like to take tim

e to thank the Fire on

    Ice Board Members, v

    olunteers, youth orga

    nizations and

    sponsors for everythin

g they do to put on th

    is event. Without each

    and every one of them

    we would not

be able to put on this

    great race.

Also, I would like to co

    ngratulate my 2013 c

    ourt including: Fire on

    Ice Princesses Katelyn

    n Volz and Liz

    Hillskotter. I am very g

lad to be able to shar

    you girls.

    Weyauwega-Fremont FFA

The FFA would like to thank all the sponsors that assist with Fire on Ice. This has proven to be a great opportunity for students to incorporate teamwork, organization, and leadership development in a great community event.

Thank you to the sponsors and the Fire on Ice committee for the invitation and allowing the FFA to be a part of the event. Through activities such as this, FFA students have opportunities to provide a community service, while having fun, and implementing leadership skills.
