It is with great joy that I invite you to our Annual San Gabriel Regional Congress on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Bishop

Amat High School. It will be a day to come together to share many grace filled moments with one another. Our theme

“Everything is a Grace” calls us to be attentive to God’s gift of grace poured into every aspect of our lives. It is this gift of

grace that transforms us and calls us to make a difference in the lives of others.

You will have opportunities to grow in the knowledge of our faith and to deepen your spirituality by attending workshops that

include gifted speakers, prayer, liturgical experiences and music. Additionally, you can shop from and interact with our ex-

hibitors who offer a wide variety of resources.

Therefore, I invite you to read through this registration book and select three workshops that will challenge you, help you in

your ministry and will nourish your soul. I also invite you to share this information with others who might benefit from this

enriching day.

1-01 Young Adults: Myths, Reality, & Effective

Ministry

There are many myths and misunderstandings about young

adults, those age 18 to 39. Come learn the truth from young

adults themselves and explore how we can minister effectively

to this critical but under-served group.

Douglas Leal is the Coordinator for Adult Faith Formation and

Young Adult Ministry with the Office of Religious Education, and was

formerly the Director of Ministries for St. Sebastian Church in West

Los Angeles. He is also a professional actor, director and previously

worked as a management consultant. Douglas received his Master’s

Degree from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. He

is the author of the skill-building book for lectors, Stop Reading and

Start Proclaiming!

1-02 Moving with God's Grace

Come explore and experience God's grace through movement.

As we adapt our liturgy to the new translation of the Missal this

Advent season, discover how this unique ministry can help

foster a renewal of faith and a deeper appreciation for our

Eucharist celebration. Come dressed in comfortable shoes and

clothes so you can fully participate !

Nicole Smith & Monica Luther have been dancing, choreograph-ing and educating in this ministry for more than a decade. Both have

extensive experience coordinating movement for a variety of parishes

throughout Southern California. Monica and Nicole had the honor of

dancing at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress in various

liturgies, prayer services and concerts.

1-03 Finding God Everyday - At Home, At Work

and at Play

Together, we will explore how we can experience God in eve-

ryday events. We will look at Scripture, some teachings of

the Saints and at our own experiences to uncover the divine

mystery that is just below the surface of everything we see,

everything we touch and everything we do.

Steve Valenzuela is currently Director of the Office of Small

Faith Communities and a Master Catechist in the Diocese of San

Bernardino. He holds a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Theology from

Loyola Marymount University. Raised in the Archdiocese, Steve

has served in the Diocese of San Bernardino for the past 24 years in

various parish and diocesan positions.

1-04 Leading Children to the Table of the Lord

This hands on workshop will assist catechists to help the

students have a better understanding of the Mass by partici-

pation in games, activities, and other projects that help a

student learn by doing. Participants should come dressed in

informal clothes.

Helen Marie Slaton works as the Associate Director of Faith

Formation at St. Monica Parish in Santa Monica. This is the begin-

ning of her 16th year in the parish. Marie is a Master Catechist.

She graduated from the LMU Bible Institute. Her creative ideas

have been published nationally and they were presented by Steven

Ellair at the Anaheim Religious Education Congress.

Youth Track: Teen Peer Leaders YT 1 Spirituality and Prayer Life of the Peer Leader… What, Me Holy???!!!

Come experience tried and true prayers and maybe some new ways to pray! Staying connected to Jesus, our source, is the way

to get out of God’s way and let God lead through us! We are called to holiness at our baptism! Let us answer that call—with all

that we are!

YT 2 Giving Witness with our Life in Serving Jesus as we Serve our Peers

Many adults think young people only think about themselves, but studies prove that high school students today are very service

oriented. St. Francis of Assisi said “speak the Gospel at all times, only use words when necessary.” This workshop will give

young people skills and practical suggestions on how to share their witness story, not in just words but by their lives.

YT 3 An Inventory of the Gifts Given by the Holy Spirit

Why do we bother spending our time being peer leaders? When we use the gifts God has given us in the service of others, we will

experience perks and benefits from the Holy Spirit….namely the fruits of the Spirit, in particular JOY!!!

Nancy Longo has been Youth Director for the past 17 years at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bellflower. She serves on the Archdiocesan

Confirmation Directional Team and is a Christian Leadership Institute Director and Signed and Anointed to Witness Director. She has her

National Certificate for Youth Ministry and is a Master Catechist. The St. Bernard Core Team has been leading retreats and leadership

training for the past 4 years.

1-05 Toolkit for Global Solidarity in the Classroom

and Community

Reaching out in solidarity with the poor around the world is at

the heart of the gospel message. Is it a part of your classroom

or parish ministry? In this workshop we will share practical

ways to help our children, teens and community enrich their

understanding of and actively participate in global solidarity

with our most vulnerable brothers and sisters. Together we will

build your solidarity toolkit using resources and programs of-

fered by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the formal emergency

relief and international development agency of the U.S. Catholic

Church.

Jim DeHarpporte is the Regional Director for Catholic Relief Ser-

vices in the Western United States, based in San Diego. A native of

Minneapolis, Jim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Mas-

ter’s Degree in Community Development. For nearly 30 years he

served with CRS in Asia and Africa. Since 2002 Jim has been the Re-

gional Director of CRS West based in San Diego.

1-06 There’s a Little “Saint” in Every Child!

Take a journey with St. Lucy through Advent, St. Patrick and

St. Joseph through Lent and Mary and the Saints through out

the Liturgical year. We'll look at fun and interesting activities

and interactive prayers to enhance your lessons as you share

your faith with the children in your care.

Kathy Ritza is currently the Director of Faith Formation at St. Denis Church in Diamond Bar, CA. She has been in catechetical ministry for

over 25 years, has experience as a retreat director, is a Master Cate-

chist with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and is a consultant for

Pflaum Publishing.

1-07 Will and Grace…

At times, does it feel like God’s grace isn’t flowing at all? Is our

“will” getting in the way of God’s grace? In this workshop we

will discuss and find solutions to some of the frustrations in

our ministries.

Pati Hope After 30 years of marriage, 4 children and a long career

with the Church, life as she knew it began to fall apart. That’s when

she began her search to find meaning in her life. Pati Hope is a travel-

ing author and founder of Evolve to Live. Her passion has become

supporting others through life’s many transitions. Included in her

education, she holds a Specialized Certificate from Loyola in Parish

Life & Administration.

1-08 The Joy of Catechizing

How to "cook up" a great lesson; the possibilities are endless.

Your textbook is your cookbook but you will learn how to add

extra spices, amazing side dishes, and end with an incredible

dessert inspired by the Holy Spirit. Come an explore ways to

make your classes nourishing and fun!

1-10 Understanding Homosexuality in a

Catechetical Context

An interactive discussion regarding Homosexuality and Church

teachings to foster understanding, embrace and evangelize our

Catholic Gay and Lesbian brothers and sisters.

The Ministry with Lesbian and Gay Catholics (MLGC) recog-

nizes that all persons with a homosexual orientation are capable of

living a full Catholic life in union with all the members of the Church.

MLGC calls on concerned Catholics and all people of goodwill to know

and share in the challenges, burdens, and blessings of homosexual

persons living a Christian life within the Catholic tradition.

1-14 Memoirs of a VBS Survivor

Mentally exhausted, physically drained, hoarse, sore, and

spiritually ON FIRE...that is the feeling of a "survivor" on the

last day of Vacation Bible School (VBS)! Come and hear one

first hand account of the VBS experience - from apprehen-

sively organizing her first one to excitedly bringing VBS to her

new parish. Involved in five summer VBS programs, Melanie

will share practical tips from initial planning to final day cele-

brations. All are welcome- newbies to VBS and VBS veterans

with survival stories to swap!

Melanie Bailey has been involved in parish ministries for over 10

years. She is currently the Coordinator of Catechetical Programs for

Holy Name of Mary Parish in San Dimas. A graduate of two Jesuit

schools (Bachelor's Degree from LMU and Master’s Degree in Theol-ogy from USF), she loves Ignatian spirituality and brings the practi-

cality of it to her parish work. Melanie considers her most important

ministry being Mom to her two young children.

1-15 Visions and Hopes: Lifelong Faith Formation

The session will envision lifelong faith formation with special

emphasis on adults at the center. We are called to attend to

the adult church knowing that if we provide excellence for

adults it will filter down and out to children and youth. How

then do we educate and evangelize for a living faith for the

whole community? What are the hopes, dreams and challenges

for engaging in this enterprise?

Sr. Edith Prendergast is currently the Director of Religious Edu-

cation of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and directs the Annual Reli-gious Education Congress. This event attracts over 40,000 partici-

pants annually. She holds a Doctorate in Ministry from Claremont

School of Theology, and a Master's Degree in Theology from Boston

College. She is a frequent speaker nationally and locally and has

written and contributed to several articles on Spirituality and Cate-

chesis.

1-16 Families in Formation

This workshop will present theology and methods for engaging

the entire family in the religious education process and evan-

gelization.

Msgr. Timothy Nichols has been Pastor of St. John Vianney Par-

ish for nine years. Before his assignment at St. John Vianney, he was the Pastor at St. James Parish in Redondo Beach for 12 years. Msgr.

Nichols has served as the head of Council of Priests for the Archdio-

cese of Los Angeles and works closely with Spiritual Direction at St.

John’s Seminary in priestly formation. He received his Master’s De-

grees in Divinity and in Religion at St. John’s Seminary and has been

involved in Master Catechist training in the Archdiocese of Los Ange-

les.

Cristina Alba is the Director of Religious Education at St. John

Vianney in Hacienda Heights. Her prior work as an elementary school teacher as well as a catechist for the past 10 years have helped

her develop a successful Family Catechesis program at the parish.

She is also currently involved in the Advanced Catechetical Ministries

through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

1-11 ADS, ID, ADD, ADHD, & IEPs: A Look at the

Disabilities behind the Special Education

Alphabet Soup

Passing on our faith is a challenge. We try to create interesting,

engaging, memorable experiences for the children with whom

we work. What happens when we are faced with a child who

has a disability? In this session participants will be given en-

couragement and confidence in working with children having

special needs. Catechists will be provided a general overview,

characteristics, and common behaviors of some prevalent dis-

abilities as well as how to address, include, and incorporate

children with these disabilities.

Giorgia Diomedes is currently working as the Inclusion Facilitator

of ABC Unified School District supporting teachers and paraprofes-sionals to develop appropriate and helpful strategies for working with

students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other behavioral or

physical difficulties. She is a Behavior Intervention Case Manager

and has her Master’s degree.

1-12 Working Together: Getting Parents Involved

in the Confirmation Process and Youth

Ministry!

All ministry with high school students must include an out-

reach to their entire family. This has been stressed in Church

documents for years. Getting parents involved in the faith

journey of their children should be a priority of all catechetical

Michael Norman is the Associate Director for the Office of Religious Education for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Mike holds a Masters

Degree in Pastoral Theology from Loyola Marymount University.

Mike works closely with over 280 parishes in the Los Angeles area to

develop strong youth programs and confirmation programs. He has

been working with youth for over 25 years. Mike served on the Board

of Directors for the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry

for five years. He is originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but is

happy to call Los Angeles his home.

1-13 St. Thérèse: A Model for our Lives

This workshop will explore the profound spirituality of St.

Thérèse of Lisieux, a French Carmelite nun who died at the age

of 24 at the end of the 19th century and later declared a Doctor

of the Church. Her writings will arouse us to strive for richer

and fuller lives for ourselves and those we teach.

Kay Murdy has a Master's Degree in Religious Studies from Mount

St. Mary's College, and is a Master Catechist for the Los Angeles Arch-diocese. Kay is a member of the teaching and coordinating team of the

Catholic Bible Institute co-sponsored by the Archdiocese Office of Reli-

gious Education and Loyola Marymount University. Kay offers con-

ferences and retreats on scripture, liturgy and spirituality in parishes

and retreat centers. Kay writes a monthly commentary on the Sunday

readings for Ministry and Liturgy magazine. In addition, she has

written five books on scripture and spirituality for Resource Publica-

tions, and one for Ligouri Publications.

Scott & Cynthia Mauriss are currently the Directors of the Special

Needs Ministry at St. Denis Parish in Diamond Bar. They are hus-

band and wife catechists with the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology

and teaching credentials in Special Education – Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe Disabilities from California State Polytechnic Uni-

versity, Pomona. They are experienced in Applied Behavior Analysis,

Floortime Therapy, and community integration.

2-06 Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy of the Word/Liturgy of the Word for Chil-

dren is LITURGY, but we don't always approach this vital part

of parish life from that perspective. In 90-minutes, we will

walk our way through a proven, successful model of this minis-

try that is both age and developmentally appropriate, experi-

ential in nature, and reverent in its liturgical expression. You

Dione Grillo is the Consultant for Elementary Catechesis for the

This workshop will explore the vast realm of possibilities for

parishes to be involved in Ecumenical and Interreligious en-

deavors. Pope Benedict recently defined Ecumenism as a

"moral imperative:" How can we live that imperative on a par-

ish level?

Fr. Alexei Smith, a Greek Catholic priest and Los Angeles native,

was assigned in 1987 to serve two small Eastern Catholic

communities in El Segundo, California: St. Andrew Russian Greek

Catholic Church and St. Paul Melkite Greek Catholic Mission. In 2000,

Rev. Smith was appointed Director of the Office of Ecumemical and Interreligious Affairs for the Los Angeles Archdiocese, making him the

first Greek Catholic priest to head an archdiocesan office.

Holy Childhood Association, he travels throughout the Archdiocese speaking to students, teacher/catechists and parishes on the experi-

ence of Catholic Missions in over 90 countries; 1150 (Arch)dioceses.

Recently, the HCA directed 100% of its $450,000 raised to emergency

relief of children and their families in Haiti!

Death

death a gift? What do we, our families, or friends need to

know about death? Why is death and dying so important to

Steward of the Door.

Jim Carper is Director of Stewardship at St. Monica’s and is a

recognized authority in Catholic stewardship; a faith mentor whose

weekly blog on spirituality in daily life is read worldwide; and an

experienced leader in building support for faith-based organiza-

tions. His weekly blog, "90-Second Stewardship," which contains

thoughts on how to integrate faith and hope into our busy and of-

ten-confusing daily lives, is distributed to more than 1,000 readers and spreads virtually throughout the world. He also runs an online

prayer service: Prayforme@stmonica.net. Jim and his wife, Teresa,

are in the diaconate program of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles,

with expected ordination in 2012.

2-13 God Help Me! Coping with the Challenges of

Parenting!

The ways of today's world are assuredly NOT God's way! As

catechists, parents, and grandparents, how can we cope with

the temptations and enticements the world presents to today's

families? The challenge is tremendous, sometimes overwhelm-

ing! What can we do? Where can we begin? God is waiting to

join the challenge! Help families learn how to bring God onto

their “parenting team!” We are not in this adventure alone!

Starting in infancy, children need to learn of God's love for

them. As they grow and develop physically, they need to grow

spiritually. "Walking with God" is more than a fanciful

thought! Helping parents draw closer to a loving God who ea-

gerly desires to help them in their "calling" to parent, enables

them to bring God's love alive in their families. Are we, as

Catechists, up to this challenge? Let's explore together ideas

for enthusing parents in their calling as Catholic Christian par-

ents and grandparents!

Marilyn Krock is an educator, catechist, author, parent and grand-

parent. She brings a wealth of constructive ideas to her presenta-

tions on ways to help strengthen Catholic families beginning in the Early Childhood years and continuing throughout life. Her Paulist

Press book, Building A Family: A Handbook for Parenting with God

resulted from five years of writing a parenting column for The Tid-

ings.

Spirituality of Work

Adults will spend more of their lives working than in any

other activity! Does our faith have anything to say about this

ity of work and offer some practical ways to integrate our

work life with our faith life.

How to discern God's call and God's “will” for us in our lives.

Msgr. James Forsen has been the Vocation Director for the Arch-

diocese of Los Angeles for the past eight years. He was ordained in

1979; and has served the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for more than

31 years as a priest. He became Director of the Office for Vocations

for the Archdiocese in July 2003, and currently resides in Los Ange-

les assisting at St. Columbkille and Nativity parishes.

Anne Hansen is a writer and a columnist for The Tidings. She

faith, this workshop could be for you. Mary Lou, a former

Archdiocesan Small Christian Community and Evangelization

Consultant, will focus on ways participants can better under-

stand and articulate their responses.

Mary Lou McGee is Pastoral Associate at Our Lady Malibu Parish

and has ministered as an adult faith formation consultant, retreat

leader, national speaker, Catholic school principal, teacher and RE

catechist. She directs the University, an adult education/faith forma-

tion program, which runs in ten Santa Barbara parishes during

Lent. Mary Lou, who has a Master's degree from the University of

San Francisco, is a wife, mother and grandmother.

2-11 Ministry Leadership: Grace Under Fire

We have all had those days: emails are piled-up, phone calls

haven't been answered, there is a mountain of meetings, and

then someone walks in with one more demand. We lose it. We

work so hard to master all the tasks before us, when what we

really need is to master ourselves. This workshop will present

easy strategies and resources to become the grace-filled lead-

ers that the church most needs.

Maria-Elena Cardeña was born in Mexico City and raised in

Pasadena, California. For the last 22 years she has served as a con-

sultant for youth ministry, a campus minister, and a pastoral associ-

ate in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She now serves as a Faith For-

mation Director for Our Lady of the Assumption in Claremont. In

addition, Elena has worked for the Center of Ministry Development

as a trainer, writer, editor and now as part of the board. She pos-

sesses a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies from Mount St. Mary’s,

and is now a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne. She lives in San Gabriel Valley where she

cooks, paints and admires the mountains.

2-15 Embrace God's Call to Generosity Through

the Sacraments!

Do we take the sacraments for granted? Do we see a relation-

ship of the sacraments in our day to day lives? How can we

embrace the generosity of God by receiving and living the sac-

raments? This workshop can be used as a parent workshop or

in a classroom setting with children or youth.

trainer, with over 40 years experience in Religious Education in

parish life.

We will review the two major liturgical cycles that occur dur-

and then explore some creative ideas for living, celebrating

3-01 The Summer Immersion Alternative For

Religious Education Of Children

Weekly religion sessions are not always practical. Whether due

to family commitments, transportation challenges, work issues,

or blended family situations, there are some families who are in

need of an alternative model that fits their challenging lives. The

Summer Alternative Model is the answer to a prayer for many

families (and parishes!) who are looking for a way to keep the

fires of faith burning brightly without burning themselves out.

3-02 The Power of Praying for Others

Have you been praying for someone for awhile? Perhaps you

have been praying for this individual to experience healing,

wholeness, or conversion. Perhaps you have been praying for

your parish community? One of the tasks of catechesis is to

teach “the Christian how to pray with Christ” (NDC pg 61) In

this session we will explore the charism of intercessory prayer,

how intercessory prayer can change and shape the spiritual

destiny of others! Intercessory prayer played such a major role

in the direction of countries, communities and the lives of indi-

viduals. Come and hear its impact on the lives of St. Augustine,

St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Servant of God, Catherine de

Hueck Doherty and many others. During this session we will

practice different forms of intercessory prayer. Come expecting

God to do extraordinary things in the lives of your family,

friends, city and parish community.

Bobby Vidal is the Director of Evangelization & Lay Formation for

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Santa Clarita. He is a

Master Catechist, trained Spiritual Director and has served in parish

ministry for over 16 years.

3-03 Grace Under Pressure; Navigating the

Unexpected in Parish Leadership

This workshop will explore some of the challenges in pastoral

ministry from sacramental preparation to annulments and

divisions among the staff. How might we best serve the peo-

ple of God by gracefully navigating the difficult and the unex-

pected?

Juliette Marsh served as the Pastoral Associate for 8 years at St.

Elizabeth's in Altadena. She has now joined the preaching team at

Mater Dolorosa, preaching weekend retreats. Additionally, her

gifts are utilized within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as a canon

lawyer, bringing the perspective of a married woman and mother

of three daughters.

How everyday objects and paper folding can provide a con-

crete understanding and enhancement of scripture study.

Judy Walsh is a Master Catechist with the Archdiocese of Los

Angeles; Retired from LAUSD after teaching for forty years in regu-lar and special education classes and as Resource Specialist

Teacher; Director of Religious Program for the students with special

needs for forty years at St. Joseph the Worker Parish and has given

many workshops and mini conferences. Education background

includes Bachelor's Degree from CSUN, Master’s Degree from La

Verne University, multiple teaching credentials in regular and spe-

cial education and graduate of the Bible Institute.

3-07 How a Rabbi/Scientist Views Religion, God,

and Belief

Rabbi Lotker will discuss how his religious faith is informed

and strengthened by his scientific training and his 30 year

career as a physicist. He will discuss the evidence for God’s

existence, the truth of the Bible, the question of how a good

and loving God can allow evil and tragedy in the world and the

question of why be religious.

Rabbi Michael Lotker comes to us with a wealth of experience. A

Phi Beta Kappa/Magna Cum Laude physicist, he spent the bulk of his

first career in the alternative energy business, working in wind-

power, solar and geothermal energy. About 500 of the windmills

that are spinning in Palm Springs, California were financed and

installed by a company that Mike was President of. In 2003, he was

ordained as a rabbi at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles, where he also received his Master of Hebrew Letters degree. He presently

rabbi of Temple Ner Ami in Camarillo, California. In addition to his

studies, Mike has published a book for the Paulist Press entitled "A

Christian's Guide to Judaism."

3-09 Creating Holy Ground

This workshop will focus on practical, easy ways to create

peace-filled learning environments that encourage transcen-

dence. Through presence, community, prayer, outreach and

‘who we are’ as catechists, we can build “a climate” that pro-

motes and enhances learning.

Ministry

How do you respond to the needs of younger and older adoles-

cents in your parish? Learn practical strategies for developing

and implementing a parish vision for Youth Ministry.

Katie Zeigler serves the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as Consultant

for Youth Ministry and Confirmation in the Office of Religious Edu-

cation. For over 15 years, she has served as Youth Ministry/

Confirmation coordinator, volunteer team member, and retreat

facilitator in several parishes throughout the Los Angeles area. Ka-tie is a member of the National Association of Catholic Youth Minis-

try Leaders.

3-11 Faith Formation Hollywood Style. No,

Seriously!

Concerned that Hollywood movies and Catholic faith forma-

tion are mutually exclusive? Unsure about how to use these

kinds of films effectively – and legally -- in your program?

This workshop will provide classroom teachers as well as par-

ish catechists and youth ministers with insights into the use

of Hollywood movies to enliven their group sessions. Theo-

logical rationale, lesson planning and available resources

(especially a new program, “Film Clips for Catholic Youth

Faith Formation”) will be explored. Suggestions will be given

for adapting these insights for adult groups as well.

Joan Doyle is a catechetical consultant, workshop/retreat pre-

senter, and writer, has held a variety of positions at St. Paul the

Apostle Parish in Los Angeles. Her education includes a Bachlor’s

Degree in English and Master’s Degree in Religious Education from

Immaculate Heart College, and she holds a California teaching cre-

dential and certification as a Master Catechist and Media Literacy educator. Joan serves annually as a judge for the HUMANITAS

Prize, rewarding writers of film and television shows that both en-

tertain and enrich the viewing public. She recently wrote the Study

Guides for "Film Clips for Catholic Youth Faith Formation," a DVD

series co-produced by Paulist Productions.

Understanding autism and how it affects children helps us to

El discipulado es la meta de la catequesis. El Directorio

Nacional de la Catequesis (DNC), nos dice: “ La tarea

fundamental de la catequesis es lograr este mismo objetivo: la

formación de discípulos de Jesucristo.”(DNC, p. 59). En esta

plática nos enfocaremos en este discipulado y cómo podemos

entretenimientos claves para los niños del siglo 21. Incluya

juegos sencillos que invitan a la memorización, y participación

de conocer más de su fe e involucrarlos como parte de la

comunidad cristiana que son.

Lanette Morgan tiene una licenciatura de la Universidad Estatal de

California Domínguez Hills en Artes Liberales. Fue Directora de Educación Religiosa en San Luis de Francia por 5 años y

Coordinadora Regional para la Región de Nuestra Señora de los

Ángeles de la Arquidiócesis. Ha tomado las clases de Maestría de

Catequista y ha recibido un certificado de Estudios Religiosos de la

Universidad Santa María (Doheny Campus).

1-19 Herramientas para Campamentos o Retiros

con Jóvenes

El objetivo principal de este taller es que los participantes

logren desarrollar campamentos ó retiros para jóvenes exitosos

y productivos pero sobre todo transformadores.

Equipo de Confirmación Arquidiocesano es un equipo que

ayuda a coordinar la visión e implementación del entrenamiento y

formación de catequistas de confirmación para la Arquidiócesis de

Los Ángeles.

1-20 Los Cuentos del Reino de Dios

Nuestro taller consistirá en los cuentos que Jesús nos enseño,

ellos nos enseñan como vivir el Reino de Dios aquí en la tierra;

ahora tenemos la oportunidad de dramatizarlas y llevar ese

precioso mensaje a los niños en nuestra catequesis.

Juan José Ferman es Maestro de Educación Primaria en

Guatemala, Maestro Catequista y Maestro de Biblia de la

Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Ha impartido cursos Básicos de Catequesis desde 1998 y Biblia desde el 2000 en la Arquidiócesis de los

Ángeles, y Regiones de Santa Bárbara, Bakersfield, y San Bernardino.

1-24 Cristología para Laicos

Hasta hace muy poco tiempo la Cristología era una asignatura

que sólo los sacerdotes estudiaban. A partir del Concilio Vaticano

II, los laicos sabemos que conocer a Cristo desde la Sagrada

Escritura y desde lo que las comunidades cristianas han dicho

sobre él a lo largo de 21 siglos es parte de nuestra formación en la

fe. Por eso, en este taller presentaremos los elementos básicos

para entender la Cristología para laicos en profundidad pero con

un lenguaje sencillo.

José Antonio Medina tiene su Doctorado en Teología y es candidato

para obtener el Doctorado en Sociología de la Universidad Pontificia de

Salamanca en España. Ha escrito varios libros entre los que destacan

"Diálogos semanales con Jesús" "Temas calientes para jóvenes

cristianos" "Vivir el presente, imaginar el futuro", "Con el corazón lleno de alegría", entre otros. Actualmente es consultor teológico para la

Conferencia de Obispos de California y para Libros Liguori.

1-25 Rezando con los Jóvenes

En este taller ofreceremos varias formas de oración para

profundizar la espiritualidad de los jóvenes y a la vez ayudarlos a

desarrollar una practica de oración que durara toda la vida.

Ida Miranda es autora y conferencista bilingüe a nivel regional y

nacional para William H. Sadlier Inc. Obtuvo su Maestría en Estudios

Religiosos en el colegio de Mount St. Mary’s en Los Ángelesy

certificación en Estudios en la Pastoral Hispana en la Universidad de

Loyola Marymount en Los Ángeles. Diseñó y facilita cursos cibernéticos

para adultos en la formación de la fe en español en colaboración con la

Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles y la Universidad de Dayton.

1-26 A la Mesa Eucarística del Señor con el

Nuevo Misal Romano

Iniciando con el primer domingo de Adviento, 2011 el pueblo de

habla ingles comenzará a utilizar el nuevo Misal Romano para

la celebración de la santa misa. Este taller tocará los temas de

los cambios, que impacto los cambios tendrán sobre

celebraciones en español y la formación del pueblo para una

participación plena y consciente.

P. Richard Vega es miembro de la Sociedad Mexicana de Liturgistas

y presentador para las oficinas del Culto Divino en Los Ángeles y

Chicago. Actualmente es el presidente de la Federación Nacional de Consejos Presbiterales. Fue párroco de La Purísima Concepción en

Lompoc y vicario parroquial en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles.

1-27 ¿Secretos Revelados de las Pandillas?

La Pastoral Juvenil de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles, esta en

un trabajo de presentar lo que son los grupos de pandillas y

revelarles cual es su realidad interior. En este taller podrán

explorar la mayoría de las características y como evitar que

nuestros jóvenes caigan en ellas.

El Equipo Arquidiocesano de Pastoral Juvenil es la instancia

donde los lideres de decanatos y parroquia comparten sus inquietudes

y anhelos respecto al Ministerio con Jóvenes Adultos. El trabajo en

equipo les ha permitido tener actualmente numerosos programas de

formación, talleres de capacitación y actividades sociales o religiosas.

Oportunidades

Maneras para trabajar con y asociarse con niños/as, jóvenes y

adultos con discapacidades. Maneras practicas en cual cada

uno de nosotros como feligreses puede abrir las puertas a

otros feligreses que talvez tengan una discapacidad -

ayudando a construir una comunidad de personas

interdependiente y descubriendo el Reino de Dios en medio

de nosotros.

Juan Pablo Miramontes recibió su Bachillerato en Estudios

Religiosos por la Universidad de La Verne, y también tiene una

Maestría en Administración Organizacional. Ha trabajado en

varias parroquias en la Arquidiócesis como Coordinador de la

Juventud / Confirmación. Actualmente es el capellán en el Centro de

Desarrollo Lanterman en Pomona, California . Ha trabajado con la

comunidad con discapacidades de desarrollo durante los últimos ocho años.

1-29 El Coraje de ser Positivo

¿Cambiar de actitudes, es posible? ¿Pensar y actuar con

alegría, es posible? Claro que sí. Este taller nos dará

herramientas que nos permitirán lograr un actitud positiva

ante las distintas situaciones que nos toca vivir diariamente.

Tocaremos puntos como: desarrollar la perseverancia, Yo

decido lo que quiero hacer. Solo Dios sabe que es bueno para

nosotros ,la clave de la felicidad es tener un propósito

claramente definido para vivirla. Somos responsables de cada

acto que realicemos. Por lo tanto debemos pensar dos veces lo

que hacemos, ¿Qué propósitos, objetivos y metas tienes en la

vida? Quieres intentarlo, ven y acompáñanos.

Héctor Quiroz es Director de la Escuela de Ministerio Pastoral

Laico. Trabaja con el ministerio hispano en la parroquia de St. Dominic en Eagle Rock. Es asistente general y maestro del Instituto

de Pastoral y Evangelización de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles.

Estudio arquitectura en IPN y la UNAM en México. Se graduó del

IPE y de la Maestría en Estudios Religiosos del colegio Mount St.

Mary's.

música nueva? ¿Cómo puedo elegir lo mejor para mi

parroquia?

Anna Betancourt cuenta con mas de 20 anos de experiencia

dirigiendo coros, incluyendo coros en español, ingles, jóvenes, niños,

adultos, tradicionales, y contemporáneos. Se gradúo de la Universidad de Loyola Marymount en Los Ángeles donde regreso

mas tarde para trabajar como asistente de liturgia y música. Anna

es presentadora de talleres de música y liturgia y oradora en

diversas conferencias. Ahora es directora de servicios pastorales y

Nuestra cultura hispana en su manera de expresarse, es

sumamente simbólica, muy llena de rituales en todos los

momentos de la vida. Toda nuestra vida es un conjunto de

En los momentos que estemos reunidas/reunidos durante este

taller intentaremos descubrir el por qué y para qué de estas

acciones que llenan da sabor espiritual a nuestra vida

cotidiana.

Lourdes Gonzales Rubio ha sido conferencista invitada en varias

Arquidiócesis. Es la Coordinadora de Ministerios Catequéticos para

la Oficina de Educación Religiosa de nuestra Arquidiócesis, cargo

que viene ejerciendo desde 1991.

Concientizar a los participantes sobre la necesidad de empezar

a realizar una “catequesis para todos que esté en manos de

2-19 Un Mundo sin Drogas, la Adicción un Vacío

Interior

En este taller hablaremos acerca de cómo identificar si

nuestro hijo está utilizando drogas. Los efectos de las drogas

más utilizadas en nuestro sistema. Cómo tratar a un joven si

está utilizando drogas y finalmente la importancia de una

buena comunicación entre padres e hijos.

Luis Díaz es creador del programa social “Emoción Activa” el cual

ofrece una serie de talleres informativos a cerca de problemas sociales como la violencia en las pandillas, la drogadicción y la

violencia doméstica entre otros. Nacido en Puerto Rico posee un

bachillerato en Comunicación de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Fue

redactor y reportero interno de Univisión Radio en Puerto Rico.

Actualmente es Asistente del Ministro de Jóvenes de la Parroquia

Nuestras Señora del Santo Rosario en Sun Valley California y es

conferencista de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles en los distintos

congresos de educación religiosa.

2-20 Amor, el Lenguaje mas Importante del

Catequista

Gran parte de los problemas que enfrenta hoy la catequesis son

problemas de comunicación y de lenguaje, mas que de

contenidos o de organización, por eso es importante que el tema

del lenguaje adquiera un lugar privilegiado en la práctica de la

catequesis. El directorio General para la Catequesis señala que

en Jesucristo la Iglesia encuentra la inspiración permanente, el

modelo convincente para toda comunicación de la fe y los

rasgos de la pedagogía catequética se resumen en una palabra

AMOR. Como catequistas enfrentamos una serie de desafíos en

este taller encontraras una caja de herramientas que te

ayudaran en valioso ministerio.

2-21 Vida y Legado del Beato Juan Pablo II

En este taller reflexionaremos sobre los eventos significativos

de la vida de Juan Pablo Segundo y como se moldeo, a través

de la fe en Cristo, su personalidad, su visión, y su obra en el

transcurso de su vida. El legado que nos dejo continuará por

muchos siglos siendo eco para nuestra iglesia; ven a aprender

como podemos extraer de su vida y su mensaje, temas y

lecciones que podemos incorporar en retiros, talleres, vigilias,

pláticas o en la familia para ayudar a otros a edificar su fe.

Ernesto Vega es el Coordinador Arquidiócesano del Ministerio de

Formación de Fe para Adultos de Habla Hispana de la Arquidiócesis

de Los Ángeles. Obtuvo una licenciatura doble, una en Filosofía y la

otra en Literatura Española en el Seminario Arquidiócesano de San

Juan. Ernesto escribió su tesina de licenciatura sobre la Lectura simbólica de la imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe. Fue maestro de

una escuela preparatoria en Los Ángeles y estudio pedagogía en

CSULA. Ernesto también obtuvo una maestría en Psicoterapia

Familiar y de Parejas de la Universidad de Loyola-Marymount y

escribió su tesis sobre las Familias Inmigrantes Mexicanas en

Psicoterapia. Ernesto tiene una pasión por las artes, la sicología y la

espiritualidad.

El Ministerio con Lesbianas y Homosexuales (MLGC) de la

Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles que trabaja con católicos

Homosexuales reconoce que todas las personas so miembros de la

iglesia. El MLHC hace un llamado a los católicos afectados y toda la gente de buena voluntad a aprender y compartir los desafíos,

cargas y bendiciones de personas homosexuales que viven una vida

Cristiana dentro la tradición Católica.

2-25 La Celebración Litúrgica y Año Cristiano

Descubrir como la esencia de la liturgia cristiana radica en la

celebración del misterio de Jesucristo. Educar en la

sensibilidad litúrgica para participar activamente en las

celebraciones. Angeles Martinez obtuvo su Maestría en Historia General de la

Normal Superior en Guadalajara México; Bachillerato en Pastoral

Hispana del colegio Mount Saint Mary's. Tiene su Maestría en Catequesis de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Fue Directora de

Educación Religiosa en la Parroquia de San Vicente.

2-26 El Misal Romano en Inglés, en Español, en Latín...

El proceso que se sigue en la traducción de los libros

litúrgicos, del latín a las lenguas modernas.

P. Manuel Sanahuja lleva muchos años en la

Arquidiócesis ayudando en las áreas de liturgia, Biblia y

catequesis.

2-27 El Reino de Dios

Nuestro Congreso Regional de este año nos exhorta a

reflexionar sobre esto: Todo Es Gracia. Tiempo providencial

para reflexionar sobre la tarea evangelizadora y catequética

que estamos llevando a cabo en nuestras parroquias. La

generosidad de muchos voluntarios hace presente el reino de

Dios en el mundo de hoy cuando responden generosamente a

su llamado. En este taller usted aprenderá sobre el “Reino de

Dios”, p. ej que queremos decir con la expresión Reino de

Dios. Estudiaremos la concepción Bíblica del Reino, así como

las características de dicho Reino. También reflexionaremos

sobre los valores del Reino así como quienes serían o serán los

destinatarios del Reino de Dios. Veremos cuáles son algunos

obstáculos para vivir el Reino de Dios. Heriberto Cayetano tiene cerca de 20 años trabajando en la

Pastoral Hispana en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Predica la

Palabra de Dios en retiros, imparte talleres en los Congresos

Regionales y colabora dando Catequesis Comunitaria en las

parroquias donde es solicitado por el párroco. Actualmente es

Director del Ministerio Hispano de la parroquia del Sagrado

Corazón de Lancaster, CA. Cuenta con un Certificado en Estudios

Pastorales por la universidad Loyola Marymount, Licenciado en

Ministerio Cristiano y cuenta con dos maestrías, una en Artes Pastorales y otra en Divinidad ambas por la Universidad Azusa

Pacific(APU).

2-28 Construyendo el Reino de Dios

Cuando nos preguntamos ¿qué predicó Jesús? la respuesta

correcta es: -Predicó el Reino de Dios- sin embargo, este tema

está ausente de la mayoría de nuestros programas de

catequesis y de formación en la fe. En este taller

desarrollaremos las notas que nos permiten identificarlo, las

maneras cómo podemos construirlo y las virtudes cristianas

En este taller analizaremos los retos que enfrenta el

catequista en una cultura de violencia y nuevas corriente de

pensamiento que apartan al ser humano de la fe.

En las parroquias se nos presentan feligreses para

matrimonió y quizás confirmación y nos damos cuenta que no

están bautizados ni han recibido eucaristía. Este taller nos

dará el plan para preparar a estos candidatos para vida

dentro del la comunidad cristiana.

este taller trataremos de enseñar a como implementar varias

hacia sus semejantes.

3-17 Como Aplicar tus Talentos Especiales para

Catequizar Niños Excepcionales

Como Católicos, nosotros les damos la bienvenida a todos

¿Pero que sucede cuando nos encontramos con un estudiante

que es excepcional, alguien que tiene diferentes habilidades y

tal vez necesidades especiales? Este taller va presentar varias

de las más comunes discapacidades a las cuales usted se podría

enfrentar como instructor de Educación Religiosa. Nos

enfocaremos en como usted puede usar los talentos especiales

que Dios les ha concedido como catequista y también otras

estrategias practicas para enseñar la fe a los niños con

necesidades especiales.

Jennifer Ayon ha servido como Catequista de Educación Religiosa

por 10 años primero con niños y actualmente sirve como instructora

de Confirmación. Jennifer recibió una Maestría de Ciencias en

Consejería y un Bachillerato de Ciencias en Servicios de

Rehabilitación; su énfasis es en ayudar a personas con

discapacidades a lograr sus metas personales, sociales y

vocacionales. Actualmente esta inscrita en el Curso de

Especialización para Maestría en Catequesis para la Arquidiócesis

de Los Ángeles.

3-18 La Evangelización Moderna Ante el Reto de la

Indiferencia.

Siendo una realidad innegable el hecho de que los niños y los

jóvenes de hoy no tienen interés por conocer de Dios, el

catequista tiene que cambiar sus métodos para responder a la

necesidad de una comunidad, que se aparta de Dios, y que en

su caminar se pierden en la cultura de no-valores éticos ni

morales.

3-19 En el Servir Hay Verdadera Vida

En este taller se les presentara un método para concientizar a

los participantes acerca de la justicia usando la "Oración del

Campesino en la Lucha", escrita por Cesar E. Chávez. El

propósito es despertar, suscitar y animar a que cada persona

reconozca su propio deber de conocer el sufrimiento del pobre

para poder abogar y ser solidario con el y dejar que el Espíritu

florezca y crezca en si mismos para que no nos cansemos entre

la lucha.

Lucy Boutte fue nombrada como Coordinadora Regional para

Renovación Carismática por el obispo Gabino Zavala en 2005. Como

Coordinadora Regional ha desarrollado mensuales Convocatorias y cursos de formación en la espiritualidad carismática y la fe católica.

Desde 2009 es miembro de la Comisión de Paz & de Justicia y del

Comité Arquidiocesano de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Trabaja

para el ministerio de campesinos a nivel nacional dando a conocer las

injusticias y abusos que los campesinos sufren a través de talleres,

visitas al campo, visitas legislativas y creando oportunidades de

interacción con los campesinos al nivele parroquial.

3-20 Materiales e Ideas Prácticas para Enseñar a los

Niños Acerca de la Eucaristía.

Jesús necesita, que como catequistas nos encontremos

preparadas. ¿Cuántas veces llegamos al salón de clases y Jesús

nos encuentra dormidas, in-preparadas? Y le contestamos:

“Señor no pude prepararme, tengo mucho que hacer, estoy

demasiado cansada; esto que me pides perjudica mi salud,

necesito un poco de paz. Jesús nos invita a que estemos

preparadas y siempre queremos dejar nuestro deber y nuestra

tarea de prepararnos; al poder del Espíritu Santo. ¡Catequistas

necesitamos preparación!

Claudia Cortez es Directora de Educación Religiosa, en la Iglesia

de la Inmaculada Concepción, en Monrovia, tiene 26 años sirviendo

al Señor en diferentes ministerios. Tiene 16 años de experiencia en la

Oficina de Educación Religiosa; y tiene 7 años como Directora de

Educación Religiosa. Ha dirigido y participado en los siguientes

ministerios: en el coro, como catequista, lectora, Ministro de la

Eucaristía, Liturgia para Niños en Inglés y en Español, RICA en

Inglés y Español, Confirmación, clases para Quinceañeras, y

experiencia dando retiros, para niños, jóvenes y adultos.

3-21 Como Mejorar la Comunicación entre Padres e

Hijos

En este taller hablaremos del proceso de comunicación de

posibles barreras que podrían interferir en este proceso y cómo

prevenirlas. Además como padres o maestros de confirmación

en más de una ocasión vamos a estar llamados a enfrentar

problemas o situaciones de adversidad en este taller

hablaremos de una estrategia comunicativa para hacerle frente

a estas situaciones. Esto y más en este hermoso taller.

3-22 Qué Quieres que Haga por Ti? (LC 18:35-43)

Este compartimiento resalta la gran importancia de nuestra

Sanación en CRISTO para poder vivir, experimentar su

sanación liberadora y ser más auténticos y libres de Anunciar el

Evangelio.

Sr. Luz Dari Villera es Religiosa de la Comunidad Hermanitas de la Anunciación. Trabaja en la Parroquia Santa Cruz del Sur de los

Ángeles. Coordina el programa de Confirmación, Apoya a los

ministerios de su Parroquia y de otras parroquias con platicas.

También ayuda a otros ministerios dentro de Estados Unidos y fuera

del País, con retiros y platicas para diferentes audiencias. En su país

hizo sus estudios de Misionología y Antropología con Énfasis en

Sociales, en la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. Fue maestra de

escuelas secundarias, ha participado en: los Congresos de Educación

Religiosa, de Salud y de Sanación desde el Contexto Sacramental en México, en otros congresos intensivos de formación, cursos de

pastoral, colabora en el equipo de Especialización para la

Confirmación en la Arquidiócesis de los Ángeles, y en el básico para

elemental.

3-23 El Otro yo del Dr. Marengo

En psicología, yo o ego (del latín), se define como la unidad

dinámica que constituye a la persona consciente de su propia

identidad y de su relación con el medio; es, pues, el punto de

referencia de todos los fenómenos físicos, psíquicos y sexuales

que se producen en nuestras vidas. El ego es la suma de

nuestros defectos psicológicos, por esto, en este taller

intentaremos aprender a penetrar dentro de nuestro yo

profundo y poder hacer la diferencia; “Ego versus persona.” Lo

cual nos ayudará a crecer como personas maduras.

3-24 Ojala Fueras Frío o Caliente

Seguir a Cristo implica una entrega total a la voluntad de

Dios. El libro de Apocalipsis nos revela algunas claves que nos

ayudaran a descubrir nuestras verdaderas intenciones dentro

del seguimiento a Cristo y estar atentos a los signos de los

últimos tiempos.

En este taller revisaremos algunos de los anuncios mas

importantes respecto a la finalización del mundo, nos

encontraremos con muchas de las “salidas” y veremos como es

que esto se ha ido acrecentando en nuestra cultura.

Alberto Embry es teólogo, con estudios de perfeccionamiento en

áreas como sectas, pastoral y estudios sistemáticos bíblicos. Ha sido

Director del Ministerio Hispano, Editor del Periódico “Renaciendo,”

Maestro de Catequistas y Profesor de los Diáconos permanente en la

Diócesis de Santa Rosa. También es parte del equipo de Profesores

de los Diáconos en la Diócesis de Sacramento. Actualmente es Consultante de la Oficina de Educación Religiosa en la Arquidiócesis

de Los Ángeles, donde dirige la Pastoral Juvenil Arquidiócesana

coordinando las áreas pastorales y formación para jóvenes adultos

hispanos.

En este taller hablaremos de la educación mexica, los consejos

indígenas que eran parte de la comunidad, el concepto del

tiempo (como lo median y organizaban) en el sistema mexica y

maya, al igual que compartiremos los conceptos modernos que

se han creado alrededor del calendario maya. Relacionaremos

este taller a la forma de entender de nuestra fe desde nuestra

cultura latinoamericana y también nos ayudara a profundizar el

Beginning this year, the San Gabriel Region will recognize catechists in the various deaneries who have served their parishes

over a significant period of time with marked excellence, dedication and passion for ministry. Each of us can almost instantaneously

bring to mind a model catechist who is always the first to arrive and the last to depart; willing in every circumstances to offer time, talent

and treasure; and in the greatness of their service, inspires others to give their best to the children, adolescents and adults under their

care. The inaugural San Gabriel Excellence in Catechetical Service Awards (ECSA) will pay homage to those catechists who

have given their utmost in ministry for ten years or more.

Directors of Religious Education, in consultation with their leadership and advisory councils, are asked to identify a single cate-

chist from their parish to submit for nomination for the 2011 San Gabriel ECSA Awards. On the form below, please provide the

nominee’s contact information and a statement (not to exceed a single double-spaced page of text) describing the candidate’s contribu-

tion and characteristics that demonstrate excellence in every respect. In selecting a nominee, please choose an individual whose service

and teaching has left an indelible imprint on the spiritual life of the religious education program and the parish at large. Specific exam-

ples and accomplishments should be noted.

The San Gabriel ECSA Awards will be handed out at the closing liturgy of the 2011 San Gabriel Religious Education Con-

gress on October 15, 2011, at Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California. The honorees will be presented with a special award

(designed exclusively for this honor) at this liturgy, blessed in a unique way by a church leader and the community of the faithful who

gather for this annual event. Recipients will be contacted a week prior to Congress to ensure their presence at the closing liturgy and to

allow the honoree to inform the parish leadership, friends and family.

Comenzando este año, la Región de San Gabriel dará reconocimiento a catequistas de los distintos decanatos que han servido

en sus parroquias por un periodo considerable de tiempo, con admirable excelencia, dedicación y pasión por su ministerio. Cada uno de

nosotros puede instantáneamente traer a mente a un catequista modelo que es siempre el primero en llegar y el último en partir;

dispuesto en cada circunstancia a ofrecer su tiempo, talento y tesoro; y con su encomiable servicio, inspira a otros para que den mejor de

sí a los niños, adolescentes y adultos bajo su tutela.

Se les pide a los directores de educación religiosa, en consulta con sus mesas directivas y el liderazgo parroquial, que

identifiquen a un catequista de su parroquia para presentarlo a nominación para los Premios PESCA 2011. En la ficha adjunta les

pedimos que provean la información de contacto del nominado y una declaración (que no exceda una página de texto con espacio doble)

describiendo las contribuciones y características del nominado, resaltando la excelencia en cada aspecto del servicio. En la selección de

un nominado, escojan a un catequista cuyo servicio y magisterio han dejado una huella indeleble en la vida espiritual del programa de

educación religiosa y la parroquia en general. Se debe hacer nota de logros y ejemplos específicos.

Los Premios PESCA se presentarán durante la liturgia de clausura del Congreso de Educación Religiosa 2011 de San Gabriel

el 15 de octubre en Bishop Amat High School, La Puente, California. Se les presentará un premio especial (diseñado exclusivamente para

este honor) a los reconocidos durante esta liturgia, con la bendición particular de un líder eclesial y la comunidad de fieles que se reúne

cada año para este evento. A los escogidos se les contactará ka semana previa al Congreso para asegurar se presencia en la liturgia de

clausura y para darles tiempo para que notifiquen al liderazgo parroquial, sus colegas y familiares. *******************************************************************************************************************
