Permanent magnet

The magnet’s attraction power varies depending on the size of the magnetic profile and the type of seal used by the manufacturer: attraction ranges from 32 g/cm to 58 g/cm with a gap of 0.4 mm (±10% tolerance).

Power measurement: air-gap distance = 0.4 mm.

WARNING: the magnet’s force depends on the magnet/air-gap distance (standard data compared to a 0.4 mm distance).

The magnet’s real attraction power is inversely proportional to the square of the magnet/iron distance.

This means that an edge welded with external burrs (hand-made) increases the distance and, therefore, decreases the magnet’s power and the tightness of doors (especially at the corners).

This is why LF has chosen industrial-grade quality despite the high costs and warehouse space needed.

Magnete permanente

La forza di attrazione del magnete varia a seconda delle dimensioni del profilo magnetico e del tipo di guarnizione utilizzato dal costruttore: range attrazione da 32 g/cm a 58 g/cm con intraferro da 0,4 mm (tolleranza ±10%).

Base di misura della forza: distanza intraferro = 0,4mm.

ATTENZIONE: la forza di attrazione del magnete dipende dalla distanza magnete/ferro (dati standard riferiti a una distanza di 0,4 mm).

La forza di attrazione reale del magnete diminuisce all’aumentare del quadrato della distanza magnete/ferro.

Ciò significa che un angolo saldato con sbavature esterne (produzione artigianale) aumenta la distanza e diminuisce la forza di attrazione del magnete e la tenuta delle porte (soprattutto negli angoli).

Questo è il motivo tecnico della scelta di LF per la produzione e qualità industriale nonostante gli alti oneri di costo e spazio in magazzino.

• Extruded PVC granules, hardness ranges from A73 to A78 Shore according to the profile (tolerance ±2)

• The profile bars must lay on a flat surface without overlapping for at least 72-96 hrs before use (to complete the cooling process in a stable condition)

You can measure a gasket either by the distance between its outer (outside-to-outside) or inner edges (dart-to-dart).

Both measurements are correct.

Remember: LF always refers to the external size!

Una guarnizione può essere misurata prendendo come riferimento i due punti più esterni (misura esterna) oppure la parte che si va ad incastrare (misura all’incastro).

Sono entrambe corrette.

Ricorda che la misura fornita da LF è sempre una misura esterna.

Longer or shorter gasket?

The material is flexible and subject to expansion with temperature variations. It is impossible to make gaskets of exactly the requested size; summer or winter production involves a tolerance of some mm.

Generally, gaskets are manufactured with negative tolerance (+0/-5 mm) according to the length.

A short gasket can be hand-stretched by 5 mm on the long side, while a gasket that is too long is unusable (does not squeeze).

If among the standard in-stock gaskets you find a gasket 5 mm shorter than the dimensions you are looking for, you do not need to order a custom one!

Guarnizione più lunga o più corta?

Il materiale è flessibile e sottoposto a dilatazione con variazioni di temperatura. E’ impossibile produrre le guarnizioni nell’esatta misura richiesta: la produzione estiva o invernale comporta una tolleranza di qualche mm.

Normalmente le guarnizioni vengono prodotte con tolleranza negativa (+0/-5mm) in funzione della lunghezza.

Una guarnizione corta può essere stirata a mano di 5 mm nel lato lungo, mentre una troppo lunga è inutilizzabile (non si lascia comprimere).

Se nelle guarnizioni standard di magazzino trovate una guarnizione di 5 mm più corta della misura che cercate non è necessario ordinarne una speciale!
