Annyong Haseyo!
It feels that we were just celebrating the New Year of 2015. A great firework display and New Year festival were held successfully at Jangseungpo. The next day, we were trying to get used to the new set of calendars. Some of us are still adjusting from the holiday hangovers, children are happily back at school and GIC is enjoying a new spirit in the center!
And it’s not all over yet. We are now expecting another New Year: the Lunar New Year! (If you didn’t make any New Year resolutions last month, then here’s another opportunity).
For our fellow Koreans, The Lunar New Year or Seollal is a very important moment in their life. It is a family-oriented major event of the year, it’s time to express their respect and love to each other. It’s amazing, that it falls in February where the global world (commercially) is celebrating the love day of Valentines.
Whatever our background, let’s take the chance to embrace our family and express our love to the people around us.
When was the last time you told your partner how blessed you are to have him or her in your life? Have you cuddled your pet more often than them? :) How often did we forget to call our parents and think that they would understand?
Were you too busy recently and missed the bedtime story with your little ones? When was the last time you met your neighbour and shared some of your fortune with the unfortunate ones? Have you just been meeting and spending time with the same people.... while you have a lot of good people in your contact list?
New Year, whichever version, is a perfect moment to re-start and be re-born into a better person, don’t you think? :)
Anyway, we wish that you all receive good fortune in this New Year! Spread the love and enjoy the holiday!
