PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

I would like to begin with thanking YOU ALL for joining in the Summer Activities held during the month of June….we had

a fun filled Picnic in Busse Woods on June 11, and an entertaining Fathers’ Day program in the temple on June 24. I want

to express my sincere gratitude to all the Members of my TEAM – both the Boards – for doing an excellent job in making

appropriate arrangements to make these functions a huge success!

Picnic turned out to be a great Outdoor Event – although it was a hot, sunny day, but the nice breeze and shady trees

made it perfectly comfortable. A steady flow of food & snacks items kept the appetite going, and everybody was seen

munching on stuff all day long. Fruits of the season – Mangoes & Watermelons, Ice Cream, have always been a great

attraction, and the young & old, all relished the same! This year, there was another attractive addition – the “Barf ka

Gola” – which reminded of the rustic cold treats of Summer back home in India. An unending line of kids was seen at the

stall set up by MR NAME for grated ice balls dipped in Rooh Afzah. The day ended with gifts for all the participants and

prizes to the winners.

Every Year, Fathers’ Day is celebrated in HOM as a Family Fun Day - a cultural evening of Songs, Bollywood & Folk

Dances, Shair-o-Shairi, Mono acting etc followed by a lavish Dinner. The popularity of this program has grown so much

over the years, that artists have started making reservations for a spot already for the next year! A colorful bouquet of

Variety Entertainment for the entire Family was organized on June 24th which turned out to be a grand success….my

THANKS to all the participants, attendees, volunteers and team members.

Fathers’ Day on the 18th of June, was also celebrated in a very special, Traditional Hindu way during the general

Congregation on Sunday. The “Pagri” a mark of Respect, Pride and Responsibility for the Father/Head of the Family, was

presented to & worn by every gentleman who came to the temple that day. As it has become a custom in HOM, over the

years, on Fathers’ Day, two members of the Community are recognized for their outstanding services. This year Mr. Ravi

Kalia & Mr. Ayodhia Salwan were chosen for this honor.

After celebrating Mothers & Fathers Days, now is the turn for our Youth to showcase their talent….I would like to appeal

to ALL of you to join us in encouraging our Youth on July 29th, as we celebrate Youth Night in the Lake Park High School,

Medinah (close to the temple). The Youth Co-coordinators Ady Mohan & Siddhant Singla are working very hard to put

up a gala evening show. Please DO COME and join us to strengthen our Future and show them your support.

As always, it is my appeal to all the Devotees, to attend the Weekly congregations & Special programs in a timely

manner and seek His Blessings. Also, please share your views, suggestions and feedback for the progress and growth of

the Temple.
