Dr. Raymond SO Wai-man, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Transport and Housing, The Government of the HKSAR, was invited as our Guest of Honour to deliver an impressive speech. The following awards were presented to the winners of EFMA : Grand Award, Most Popular Facility Award, FM People Award, Theme Award, Excellence Award and Merit Award. Congratulation to all Winners!
Messages from Dr Edmond CHENG (HKIFM President), Ms Celine TAM (Chairperson, EFMA 2018 Organising Committee) and Ir Alfred SIT, JP (Director of EMSD) are recapped in the FM Blog of this month.
Last but not the least, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the time and invaluable efforts of the Juding Panel for the Excellence in Facility Management Award 2018.
On 25 October 2018, the event was held successfully with more than 400 distinguished guests and attendants.

Recent Event
Consultation on Licensing Regime for Property Management Companies and Property Management Practitioners under the Property Management Services Ordinance (Cap. 66) (PMSO) was uploaded on website of Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) on 21.11.2018. The Consultation aims at inviting opinions from the general public and stakeholders in the property management industry. The deadline for submission of views is extended to 18.1.2019. Members can obtain details of the Consultation Document via https://www.pmsahk.org.hk/tc/licensing/consultation.html
In order to gauge members’ views and feedback on the Consultation Document before the submission deadline, major stakeholders of the industry including Chartered Institute of Housing, Asian Pacific Branch (CIHAPB), The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies (HKAPMC), The Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management (HKIFM), The Hong Kong Institute of Housing (HKIH), The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Property and Facility Management Division (HKIS, PFMD), Housing Managers Registration Board (HMRB) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Hong Kong Board (RICS) have jointly organized the subject Discussion Forum on 1.12.2018. Thereafter, a joint letter signed by the aforesaid Board/Association/Institute will be sent to PMSA with our members’ major concerns before the submission deadline on 18.1.2019.
You are welcomed to submit your views via the Institute by email to [email protected] on or before 4.1.2019 so that we can consolidate all comments received and deliver to the PMSA’s office.

CPD Requirements for Members
Continuing professional development (CPD) is a common requirement of most professional institutes to ensure effective execution of professional duties throughout the members' working life. With the approval of the Council, the Institute has laid down the CPD requirements for its members.
In brief, all members (including fellows) and associates should complete a minimum of 20 hours per year on a mandatory basis starting from 1 July 2015. The CPD may come under 3 categories: (1) education and training, (2) community, institutional, and social services, (3) private study. A minimum of 10 hours should fall within the type of education and training, of which at least 4 hours should be FM related activities. Private study should be subject to a maximum claim of 5 hours per year.
