This intensive course is designed to focus completely on preparation for specific English exams.

We cover all Cambridge exams as well as the Baccalaureate and Abitur.

Your teacher will be experienced in preparation of your particular exam.

Fast Track Intensive GeneralAdult 18+ Business or General 20 hours one to one £795*

This course is designed for professionals who have limited time to spare and who want to achieve the maximum improvement in their English skills in a very short time.

The Fast Track program can be selected for last minute exam preparation, Business English for work purposes or general English. Students can choose to stay three or four nights.

What is included on Fast Track course:

• Pick up from the local railway station• Comfortable home stay accommodation (3 or 4 nights) • A minimum of 20 hours 1-1 of intensive tuition

Culture & Conversation–Adult & JuniorFrom £595* per week. No formal lessons.

This course is designed for students of all ages who wish to concentrate more on conversation and the cultural aspects of the homestay. There are no formal lessons on this program but four half day cultural excursions per week. Integration into the teacher’s way of life will facilitate the opportunity for listening and speaking.

This course is designed for parents who do not feel confident enough to send their children to study alone or for parents who wish to study but would like to have their children accompany them. We can cater for families in some homestays.

Study options:

This course is designed for Juniors wanting to improve their general English in all four skills through a combination of formal lessons and excursions.

This program is better suited to students who do not need constant supervision and who are confident enough to go out unaccompanied or with their hosts children.

Written parental permission will be required.

Additional hours tuition £25 per hour.

Two friends, siblings, partners or two individual students can share the same adult or junior course on a two to one basis. Students must be at a similar level of english to participate.

Further informationYour accommodationOur Homestay tutors are located all over the UK. You can elect to stay in a town, in the countryside or at the seaside. You can also choose a homestay with or without children. When you book a course we will indicate the nearest airport and give you all the necessary travel information for independent onward travelling. Under 16s will always be met at their port of arrival by their teacher (over 16s on request). Depending on the homestay, you will have a single or double bed and all the necessary facilities.

• All homestays provide free WIFI.• If you wish to have a private bathroom, this must be booked in advance.

Laundry facilities are available for homestays of more than one week.• During meal times and in the evenings, you will have ample

opportunity for conversation with your teacher and their family.• Your learning will be ongoing both in and out of the classroom.• We cater for special dietary needs with prior notice.

There is a £100 supplement for all London Homestays.

Your lessonsDuring the booking process you will have selected your course and the hours of tuition required 10, 15, 20,or 25 hours per week. If you wish to increase the hours of tuition, once you are here, you may do so directly with your teacher. However, you cannot decrease hours that have already been booked prior to arrival.

Each course will be tailor–made to the individual’s requirements according to the chosen program. Lessons will normally take place in the mornings leaving free the afternoons for excursions, activities or free time.

All the language skills will be covered during lesson time, reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and pronunciation. Prior to arrival, you will be sent a diagnostic placement test to complete and your course will be based on those results.

After departure, you will be sent a course report detailing the work covered during your stay. You will also be awarded an attendance certificate.

Your excursionsAll programs are inclusive of a minimum of a day and a half excursions in the company of the teacher.

Excursions and activities are planned at the start of the course with the teacher, based on the interests of the individual. Please indicate these on the booking form. Depending on where a homestay is located, there will be a wide range of excursions to choose from, including visiting museums, exhibitions and stately homes as well as local events such as carnivals and music festivals. Many of these are free of charge.

We offer many diverse activities for juniors of all ages including swimming, cinema, bowling, visits to the seaside, funfairs, and activity workbshops.

All activities and excursions are an extension of the language learning process where students can put into practice their spoken English.

On the Culture and Conversation programs, students are offered four half day excursions with their teacher where they can optimise their conversation skills on a pre planned social program, while incorporating their interests.

Excursion fees

On excursions there are many venues which are free of charge however, sometimes, there will be an entrance fee to pay.

Adults must pay all entrance fees to venues for themselves and their teacher.

When using public transport ,fares must be paid for by the student. (Except on junior programs)

On the Junior BASIC program juniors must pay all entrance fees to venues for themselves and their teacher. Local transport is included

The Junior ACTIVE program is inclusive of all transport costs for local activities and excursions. Entrance fees to local venues are also included.

Adult or Junior students wishing to book specific excursions such as to theme parks, venues in London etc: must inform us in advance.

Activities such as golf, tennis or horse riding, must be booked and paid for in advance. Students staying outside London who would like to have a day excursion to the city, will incur the costs of the train fares for themselves and their teacher.

GroupsShort stay groups from 3–7 nightsLong stay groups up to 14 nightsWe welcome groups from European schools and colleges to experience living and learning in an English family. There are a variety of excursions available to explore the local area and beyond. Students can enjoy the experience of immersing themselves into the language and culture.

We offer programs with or without English lessons. Each program is tailor made to each individual school group.

We are based in Hastings, East Sussex on the South east coast. Hastings is famous for the 1066 battle between King Harold of England and William the Conquerer of Normandy. The area is rich in culture. This location is ideally situated for daily visits to Brighton, London, Canterbury and Portsmouth.

Groups arriving via ferry will usually arrive at Dover which is approximately one hours drive from Hastings. Student groups will be met in Hastings by the local organiser on arrival and departure.

Students will be collected by their host families on the arrival day. Coach drivers will be sent details of the local coach park prior to arrival. Students will be given the host family address and telephone number on arrival.

A local bus stop will be designated, within easy walking distance from the host family home, where students will be collected by their coach at a prearranged time, each day. The local organiser will accompany the coach driver for the student collections. Students will have their daily excursion.

At the end of each day, students will be returned to their local meeting point. The local organiser will accompany the coach driver for the student return.

We offer a free teacher place for every 20 Students. This offer is only up to 60 students. Teacher places are payable after 60 students.

Student groups will be met by the local organiser at Hastings station on arrival and departure. Students will be collected by their host families on the arrival day. Coach drivers will be sent a map to the local coach park, prior to arrival.

Students will be given the host family address and telephone number prior to arrival.

A local meeting point will be designated, within easy walking distance from the host family home, where students will be collected by their coach at a prearranged time, each day.

The local organiser will accompany the coach driver for the student collections. Students will have their daily excursion and at the end of each day, students will be returned to their local meeting point.

Organisation of transfers from arrival port if arriving by air. Costs for excursions can be included in a quote if requested.

Our terms and conditionsDefinitions: Booking form means the booking form available on our website which is the preliminary step to making an enquiry or a booking.

Course fee: means the fee for the services which are offered in your booking as determined by our price list at the time of our confirmation.

Deposit: means the deposit of 20% payable order to secure a booking.

Events outside our control: means any act or events beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation,strikes, lockouts or any other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, Terrorist track or threat of terrorist attack, wall, (Declared or not) Or threat or preparation of wall, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, Subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, failure of public or private telecommunications networks of failure by any of our contractors.

Proposal: what we offer you

Services: means the provision to you by us of a home tuition language course.

Terms : means the terms and conditions set out in this document

We/Our/Us : means Homestay English UK

Website: means the Homestay English teaching UK website at www.homestayenglish.

Our contract with you

These are the terms on which we supply services to you. These terms will apply to any contract between us for the provision of services to you. Any terms that you submit to us shall be of no effect unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please read these terms carefully and make sure that you understand them before ordering any services. Please note that before making a booking you will be asked to agree to these terms.

If you wish to make a booking you shall send an enquiry to us either using the online enquiry form at www.homestayenglish.uk.com/how-to-book/or by emailing us directly at [email protected] which gives you the opportunity to state your requirements and the services you are interested in.

In response to your enquiry we shall provide you with a proposal, which shall set out the anticipated course fee and details of the services (The proposal) These prices and details will be adhered to once the deposit has been paid regardless of the time lapse between booking and the course start date.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the booking form is complete and accurate before you submit it. If you think that there was a mistake or require any changes, please contact us to discuss this. We will confirm any changes in writing to avoid any confusion between you and us. This must be done before the full balance has been paid.

If the proposal is acceptable to you then we shall issue you with an invoice for the non returnable deposit. The balance of the fees must be paid at least four weeks prior to the arrival date or we reserve the right to cancel your booking.

The contract will be formed on our acceptance, in writing, of your completed booking form and deposit. You will be sent a letter of confirmation indicating your chosen program, the dates of your course, hours of tuition as well as travel instructions to your teachers home.

If, for any reason we are not able to supply you with the services you require we will inform you and will not process your booking.

Changes to the contract or terms

These terms may be revised from time to time to meet our changing business needs. In the event of making any changes we will contact you and let you know before they take effect. You can choose to cancel your contract if you are not happy with any of the changes and if there are more than four weeks prior to the arrival date.

Providing services

We will supply the services to you between the dates outlined in the proposal and confirm confirmation.

The services will include:

• One to one, two to one or group tuition designed to meet your needs (according to the number of hours of tuition requested).

• Assessment by way of a placement test prior to arrival.• The use of any coursework books belonging to the individual teacher and writing materials• A progress report and recommendations for future study• ertificate attendance• A single/double bedroom with all necessary facilities• Full board: Continental breakfast , snack lunch and dinner• Accompanied excursions as per program• Local transport and local venue fees are included in junior Active program only• Transfers from local train or bus station• 24 hour support from Homestay English Teaching organiser

Course fees do not include the cost of flights, airport transfers or extras as listed on the website

We will make every reasonable effort to commence and complete the services on time. However there may be delays due to an event outside our control.

We reserve the right to change an allocated teacher at any time before or during the provision of the services in the unusual event that such a teacher is, for any reason, unavailable.

Problems with the services

In the unlikely event that services are not provided in accordance with the contract please let us know as soon as possible and give us a reasonable opportunity to remedy the problem

Every endeavour will be made to rectify a problem as soon as we are aware of it.

Prices and payments

There is a mandatory booking fee of £50 on each invoice.

According to the contract the full balance of payment must be paid no less than four weeks prior to the arrival date. We reserve the right to cancel any contract where the course fee has not been paid for on time.

Payment can be made by debit or credit card or international bank transfer

If a booking is made at short notice (within four weeks of the start date) then full payment of the course fee shall be paid to us immediately.

The course the deposit and services are VAT exempt.

Our liability to you

If we fail to comply with the terms of service or we are responsible for loss or damage suffered by you that is a foreseeable result of our breach of the terms we will compensate pro rata . We are not responsible for any loss or damage which is not foreseeable.

If you wish to cancel, with reasonable cause, once the course has begun, we will refund you a pro-rata. Every endeavour will be made to rectify the problem before we make a refund.

Cancellations

If you cancel before the final balance is due you will forfeit your deposit of 20%.

If you cancel between 28 and 15 days before the start of the course 50% of the course fees will be due.

If you cancel within 14 days at the start of the course 100% of the total course fee will be due The course fee shall not be refundable in whole, or part, if the student arrives late or leaves before the end of the course.

Alterations and amendments

If you wish to change any part of the contract i.e. dates or hours of tuition once the fees have been paid, £100 administration fee will be charged.

Our right to cancel

We may have to cancel the contract before the start date on a course due to an event outside our control. Should your allocated tutor not be available on your arrival date or before, we will offer you an alternative. We will inform you immediately if this is the case and should you not be satisfied with an alternative, we will make a full refund or give you the opportunity to defer to a later date. Once we have begun to provide the service and a teacher is no longer able to provide this service, we will find a suitable alternative make a pro–rata refund.

You shall be expected to follow reasonable rules of conduct set by your teacher. If we find that you are in breach of those rules of conduct, then we reserve the right to cancel the contract. In extreme cases you will be repatriated at your own expense. The use of alcohol and drugs is strictly forbidden and any breakages must be paid for.

How we may use your personal information

We will use that personal information you provide to us to: Provide the services.
