HOW TO SETUP JOB ALERTS
When you create a profile and/or apply for a job, you are able to set-up your “Job Alert” preferences to receive notifications when jobs are posted that match your interests. Please follow the steps below to set-up your profile.
ACCESSING YOUR PROFILE TO UPDATE PREFERENCES
1) Go to the career website at http://teammembers.hilton.com. Select the link “Access My Profile” located under the job quick search.
2) Enter your “User Name” and “Password”, after you acknowledge the
Privacy Statement. If you do not have an account, select “New User” and follow the online instructions to setup your account.
Once you are signed in, you will land on the General Profile summary page
3) To set the preferences for job alerts, scroll down the page to “Preferences” and click “Edit”. In the first category box, select the “Job Field Category” and the “Specialty” matching your interests and then select “Add to List”.
Tips: 1. Repeat this step as many times as necessary to capture all your
interests 2. Leave the “specialty” selection blank if you want to receive all jobs in
the job field category 3. Review current selections and remove any categories that no longer
apply. To do this, simply select “Remove”
4) When done, select “Save and Continue” to move to the next field 5) Next, set your location preferences by selecting the Country, State, and/or
City of interest:
Tips:
1. Repeat this step as many times to capture all locations of interest 2. If you would like to receive all job alerts for a given country and/or
state, leave the “State” and/or “City” selection blank
6) The next preference setting for job alerts is your “Organization” setting.
Use this field to indicate if you would like to receive Hotel, Corporate, or Call Center jobs.
When you reach the end of this section you are returned to the General Profile summary page.
7) Finally, scroll to the Job Profile section. Click “Edit” to update your job
level and shift preferences:
Job Level: a. Select the level of jobs you are interested such as Team Member
(non-supervisor), Manager, Director
Shift Field: b. The Shift field allows you to designate the shifts you are interested in
working
Tips: 1. Repeat this step as many times to capture all fields that match your
interests 2. Within each field select all the values that match your interests 3. If you set a field to “Not Specified” the system will send you jobs
for all the values 4. *Most Importantly* At the end of this section be sure the box is
checked under the Job Posting Notification. If this is not checked, job alerts will not be sent to you.
8) When the system finds a posting that matches your settings, you will receive an email with the subject line “Job Posting Notification”. Click on the link to the job from the email and you will be able to review the full job description and continue with an application.
You have now successfully signed up for Job Alerts!
Helpful Reminders:
Every time you apply to a job, the system will automatically add that job’s settings into your preferences. If you do not make any changes to your settings, then you will also receive jobs similar to those that you have applied. If you are receiving jobs not matching your interests, then update your preference values using the instructions in this guide.
Select ALL the values that match your interests. For example, if you are interested in jobs located in 2 states/provinces you will need to add both values into the location preference field. The system will then include any job located in either state/province in your alerts.
Many of the settings contain “categories” and “sub-categories”. Such as the Job Field section contains a “Department” and a “Specialty”. Some of the fields will have multiple levels. You can leave the sub-category blank to receive all jobs in that category or select the additional levels to receive more targeted job alerts. For example, in the Job Field you select the first level of “Food and Beverage” and no second level. This is the broadest selection causing the system to send you job alerts for all jobs in “Food and Beverage”. If you add the second level of “Bars and Restaurants”. Your job alert will only
include jobs in “Bars and Restaurants” but no other areas within “Food and Beverage”.
The Preference fields do work together by finding the jobs that match across the Departments, Locations and Organizations selections. If you select Locations in the United States and then select a Europe organization, you will not receive any alerts.
