Alert NotificationsYou can receive an alert based on monitoring metrics for your Azure services. An alert rule enables you to monitor a Azure service based on a metric value. When the value of a specified metric violates the threshold assigned for a rule, the alert rule becomes active and registers an alert.

NOTE: Before you can create an alert rule to monitor availability information for Azure Websites and Mobile Services, you first need to enable endpoint monitoring for the appropriate resource.

To enable endpoint monitoring, go to the CONFIGURE page for the associated resource and edit the Endpoints setting in the monitoring section.

Monitoring Cloud ServicesYou can receive alerts based on your Cloud Service Monitoring Metrics.

On the Management Services page of the Azure Management Portal, you can create a Rule that will trigger an alert when the metric you choose reaches a value that you specify. You can also choose to have email sent when the alert is triggered.

To add metrics to the metrics table:

-> Click Add Metrics to open Choose Metrics, shown below. The first available metric is expanded to show options that are available. For each metric, the top option displays aggregated monitoring data for all roles. In addition, you can choose individual roles to display data for.
