The popular of smart phones and computers and the fast development of cloud computing

have accelerates the growth in bandwidth requirements. Also video and other new

broadband services leads to explosive network traffic growth. The evolution to All-IP and

ultra-broadband network becomes the trend. Such fast development of network has

Unified Management

The U2000 is an unified management platform for all the network equipment provided by Huawei. It can manage transport equipments, access equipments, IP equipments (including switches and PTN equipment),core equipments in a centralized manner.

In 2008, Huawei first proposed the concept of “unified management” in the industry and

launched the first commercial project in 2009 which leading the industry development

trend to the unified management. Till the end of 2011, Huawei U2000 unified

cross-domain management system has already deployed by 10+ tier 1 carriers and more

than 100 carriers successfully to help All-IP and FMC network evolution. And also, Huawei

U2000 has deployed the No.1 largest-scale unified project, achieving centralized O&M

and highly reducing O&M costs.

Smart O&M

Efficient deployment

Visualized E2E service provisioning: U2000 provides visualized GUI-Based service

provisioning. The service can be configured by just selecting the source, the sink and the

parameters. This can highly improve the provisioning efficiency and decrease the

personnel skill requirement.

The U2000 provides the E2E scheduling capability for full services such as the IP service,

WDM service, MSTP service, microwave service, and access service. U2000 can support

E2E service provisioning for typical scenarios, such as microwave+IP, transport+IP,

PON+IP leased lines. The service provisioning time is precise to seconds, which fully

meets the fast development of customer services.

Unified domain management GUIs and E2E maintenance simplify the coordination work between operation and maintenance departments.

Rich service configuration templates:Rich predefine scenario-based templates are

provided. All related parameters can be configured in one GUI. Also the engineer can define the customized template for the experience sharing and efficiency improvement.

Flexible service configuration: Batch configuration, copy configuration, automatic route calculation, automatic resource allocation are supported, which can help to ensure the network load balance.

Efficient troubleshooting

Massive alarms management: Most (85% to 90%) of the invalid alarms can be filtered

out using various filtering methods such as engineering alarm indication, transient alarms suppression, alarm correlation analysis and alarm aggregation. The root alarms are highlighted thus highly improving the troubleshooting efficiency.

Service-oriented fault management:The alarms can be correlated to the service

directly and the service route is visualized. All these can help to find out the network point of service deterioration and solve the problem quickly.

Automatic intelligent fault diagnosis: Rich embedded experience base, automatic fault diagnosis for typical fault, and minutes-level fault location are fulfilled.

Efficient OSS integration

U2000 provides rich standard northbound interfaces, such as SNMP、Corba、FTP etc. to

meet different OSS integration requirement.

U2000 also provides service-oriented MTOSI northbound interfaces. The MTOSI northbound interface is complied with MTOSI 2.0. The unified protocol , architecture and model can highly improve the integration efficiency and shorten the integration duration by more than 20%.

Huawei has established strategic cooperation with mainstream OSS vendors including co-development, co-verification , pre-integration etc. to provide joint OSS solution. The cooperation has already covered more than 75% of the top 50 global carriers. The U2000 can implement fast NBI integration and provides abundant data for upper-layer network management systems which can help a lot for fast time to market and success service operation.

Future-Ready

LTE Ready,Rapid O&M transition

Plug and play, fast deployment: In LTE bear network, the number of box devices is huge and the deployment environment is poor. U2000 provides hardware plug and play, software remote commission to highly increase the deployment efficiency and decrease the deployment cost.

Unified clock view, Automatic Compensation for Fiber Asymmetry: LTE network has high synchronization requirement. Clock asynchronization will have great effect on the network. U2000 provides visualized clock topology and clear clock tracing relationship which can help to find out the clock asynchronization quickly. U2000 can also provide automatic clock compensation for fiber asymmetry, avoiding the onsite clock adjustment. Sites.

Visualized IP+Optical hierarchical path: The industry unique IP+Optical cross-layer management function of U2000 can display the hierarchical service path and the path status of each layer.

Intelligent IP+Optical fault diagnosis: When the optical layer is wrong, affected services of IP layer can be recognized directly. U2000 can fulfill automatic fault location with high accuracy and high efficiency. Comparing with manual fault diagnosis, the fault location duration can decrease from 1 hour to 5 minutes.
