UMASIPALA weTheku usuz-ibekele umgomo wokwakha izindlu ezingu-10 000 ngalo-nyaka nokuzoba nomthelela omkhulu ohlelweni lokuqe-da imijondolo edolobheni.Ukwakhiwa kwezindlu

ngenye yezinto ezihamba phambili ezinhlelweni zikaMasipala njengoba sekubekwe eceleni isamba sika R1.9 billion seminyaka emithathu yokwakhiwa kwezindlu nokuthuthukisa inqalasizinda. Yize umgomo kuyizindlu ezingu-10 000 ngonyaka, uMasipala unez-inhlelo zokunyusa lesisi-balo ukufinyelela ezindlini ezingu-20 000 ngonyaka ukubhekana nezinselelo zo-kuthuthuka kwamadolobha.UMeya uJames Nxumalo

ukubeke lokhu kwacaca ngesikhathu sokuphasiswa

kwesabelomali sika-2013/14. Izindlu ezingu 125 669 esezakhiwe nguMasi-pala phakathi konyaka 2002 nonyaka ka-2013, okuyisa-balo esibadlula bonke oma-sipala eniNgizumi Afrika.UMasipala usaselele nge-

muva ngabantu abangu-410 000 kanye nabangu-10 400 abahlezi kolindela. Ngo-2016/17 uMasipala ufuna ukuthi ube sewakhe izindlu ezingu 32 000. UMasipa-la ukwazile ukunciphisa isibalo semijondolo sisuka ku-638 siya ku-476 ngaloli-hlelo lwezindlu.“Ukuhambisana nohlelo

shana ukufakelwa ugesi emijondolo. Ukuze kwen-zeke lokho, uMasipala usebenzisana noMnyango kaGesi ezweni lokhe ukuze imizi eyimijondolo engama 300 000 eThekwini ifakelwe ugesi ngaphansi kohlelo olwaziwa nge Integrated National Electrification Programme (INEP).Okwamanje ugesi usufakel-
