Gentile ospite,
con l’apertura dell’albergo in quel lunedì 29 giugno 1970 -festa di San Pietro-, mio zio Carlo Cinque, per tutti affettuosamente “Carlino”, intraprendeva un viaggio nell’ospitalità e nella bellezza.
Giramondo, profondo conoscitore di culture e accoglienze diverse, aveva amato da subito questo luogo, e desiderava condividerne l’entusiasmo con i “forestieri” che omaggiavano la sua terra. Qui poteva offrire loro l’emozione di uno spettacolo unico, uno scenario naturale che col tempo non conosce consuetudine ma solo una crescente passione.
Il San Pietro diventava così “un viaggio nel viaggio”, che da sé appaga e crea emozioni e ricordi da portare nel cuore.
Un viaggio che implica la scoperta, l’intraprendenza e la creatività: quando fu inaugurato l’ascensore nella roccia per scendere in spiaggia, si parlò di un’innovazione sorprendente; quando Carlino “inventò” il transfer per il centro di Positano scorazzando gli ospiti su una sfavillante Fiat Jolly cabrio se ne intuì la genialità.
Più che un albergo nei canoni classici, il San Pietro è un’elegante dimora in cui la genuina ospitalità positanese incontra il fascino dell’atmosfera internazionale. Qui la tradizione si fonde con il presente in un connubio di armonia e raffinatezza, che sia in un piatto elaborato dallo Chef Alois o nelle grandi composizioni di fiori freschi della hall.
Personaggi famosi e viaggiatori da tutto il mondo hanno gustato il piacere del relax sulla grande terrazza, hanno pranzato sotto il fresco pergolato del ristorante al mare Carlino o cenato nella romantica cornice del ristorante stellato San Pietro con vista incomparabile sulla Costa; hanno ammirato la straordinaria bellezza dei paesaggi nella crociera gratuita con la barca privata dell’albergo.
L’itinerario, iniziato più di 40 anni fa, continua oggi con me e i miei figli Carlo e Vito con la stessa filosofia e passione di zio Carlino. Siamo felici che Lei si unisca a noi in questo viaggio.

In una cornice di sobria luminosità mediterranea, il ristorante gastronomico dell’albergo offre un panorama straordinario sul paese di Praiano e sulla costa. Di sera, l’atmosfera a lume di candela affascina con tonalità raffinate e romantiche. La Cucina di Alois Vanlangenaeker, Executive Chef del San Pietro, si muove tra tradizione ed innovazione; partendo da una materia prima eccezionale, Alois reinterpreta le ricette classiche della cucina campana con straordinaria chiarezza e lucidità dandogli un tocco moderno dove la leggerezza diventa il leit motive di una cucina che non vuole stupire, ma semplicemente esprimere le qualità del territorio. L’esperienza gastronomica, al San Pietro, si arricchisce con il “fine drinking”. Salvatore Marrone, il Sommelier, cura una vasta carta dei vini con oltre 600 etichette, frutto di una continua ricerca con l’obiettivo di scoprire le migliori etichette nazionali e internazionali con un particolare interesse per i piccoli produttori. Il Ristorante “Il San Pietro” è stellato Michelin.

Il profumo del mare unito al piacere della sosta sotto un’invitante terrazza all’ombra fa di questo angolo gourmet intitolato al fondatore dell’albergo Carlino Cinque un’esperienza immancabile. Si raggiunge con l’ascensore scavato nella roccia o attraverso una piacevole passeggiata tra gli orti e i giardini, a fianco di alte pareti rocciose: un percorso tipico della Costiera Amalfitana. Il Carlino rappresenta l’angolo informale del San Pietro, le emozioni, in questo spazio dedicato al buon gusto, finiscono inevitabilmente nel piatto. La cucina del Carlino è equilibrata e leggera, la materia prima segue il ritmo delle stagioni e l’interpretazione è frutto del genio di Alois, l’Executive Chef, che ha saputo valorizzare al meglio i prodotti campani, molti dei quali, come gli ortaggi e gli odori, coltivati direttamente nel nostro orto. Al Carlino i piatti sono preparati al momento e la carta propone una attenta selezione gastronomica di alta qualità, veloce e tradizionale.

Il Bar della hall è il cuore pulsante dell’albergo, uno spazio dalla lussuosa semplicità in cui le buganville dominano morbidi sofà. Spesso la vegetazione “entra” negli ambienti e con essi si fonde separando l’interno dalla magnifica terrazza che con i suoi splendidi giardini fioriti e le panche maiolicate riccamente decorate domina la vista su Positano, i Faraglioni di Capri, gli isolotti de Li Galli e Praiano. In questo luogo incantato sospeso tra cielo e mare, il nostro barman vi conquisterà con le sue originali proposte: dai più classici Martini, agli inebrianti Sparkling, ai rinfrescanti Frozen nelle ore più calde della giornata.

Il San Pietro è l’unico albergo di Positano con spiaggia riservata e accesso diretto, un angolo di paradiso, un invito costante al relax. Il Bar della Spiaggia si inserisce in questo contesto adiacente al solarium offrendo agli ospiti un servizio veloce e informale dalle 8 del mattino al tramonto. Cocktails analcolici e una vasta selezione di vini al calice sono solo una piccola parte della vasta offerta di questo splendido Bar che si presenta come l’alternativa informale della struttura.

La piscina è un angolo d’incomparabile bellezza, si fa il bagno con vista sul paese di Praiano, guardando il mare e gli alti Monti Lattari. Una terrazza luminosa e tranquilla dove rilassarsi in uno scenario davvero esclusivo. Gli ospiti possono usufruire, comodamente sdraiati sui propri lettini, di un servizio bar altamente professionale, ma al contempo giovanile e dinamico. L’incontro con il “Fine Drinking” al San Pietro è caratterizzato dalla presenza di una selezione di vini di oltre 600 etichette custodite in due distinte cantine, la prima ad una temperatura controllata di 13° che ospita i vini bianchi, la seconda a 18° destinata ai rossi.La carta dei vini è il frutto di una continua ricerca con l’obiettivo di scoprire le migliori e più interessanti etichette nazionali ed estere con una scelta di oltre 100 varietà differenti.E se l’ospite si aspetta di trovare solo i vini più blasonati, dal gusto prettamente internazionale, si stupirà, sia per la varietà e la possibilità di scelta, sia per il prestigio dei vini proposti.La carta ha una naturale propensione ai prodotti regionali. I vitigni autoctoni come il Fiano, Il Greco, la Biancolella, il Piedirosso, l’Aglianico trovano, al San Pietro, la dimora ideale e l’accostamento con i piatti dal gusto squisitamente campano dell’Executive Chef Alois Varlangenaeker è un piacere per il palato. Questo è solo il punto di partenza per un’esperienza capace di portare il commensale oltre i confini e farsi conquistare dalla complessità dei bianchi di Borgogna, dalla potenza dei grandi vini di Bordeaux, dalla longevità dei bianchi tedeschi, dai profumi dei bianchi australiani e neozelandesi e dall’infinita varietà e complessità dei vini delle altre regioni italiane.Sono presenti le grandi etichette, ma viene naturale spostare l’attenzione ai piccoli produttori e ai vini naturali dove in vigna si applica l’agricoltura biologia o biodinamica e il risultato è la produzione di vini di grande riconoscibilità e carattere.Tutto questo viene messo a disposizione dei nostri ospiti che vengono consigliati e seguiti con professionalità e competenza dal nostro sommelier Salvatore, capace di selezionare le migliori proposte da abbinare alla cucina mediterranea di Alois.

L A C O L A Z I O N E
La colazione Continentale e quella “à la Carte” sono servite sul terrazzo privato della camera, mentre un ricco buffet vi attende al Ristorante principale.
Le prime luci del sole al San Pietro illuminano la sala del Ristorante e in questo contesto di rara bellezza consumare la ricca colazione diventa un’esperienza.
Per darvi la giusta carica, una vasta selezione di pani e croissant rigorosamente fatti in casa vi attende. Al San Pietro si usa lievito madre, tutti i prodotti da forno subiscono una lunga lievitazione per garantire leggerezza nel rispetto della natura. Le marmellate rigorosamente di nostra produzione sono una continua tentazione per il palato. Frutta fresca e spremute preparate à la minute colorano e impreziosiscono il buffet. Si passa dal dolce al salato: uova biologiche prodotte in loco o i salumi rigorosamente selezionati dai migliori produttori sono una tentazione anche per coloro che abitualmente consumano una colazione veloce.

Dear guest,
my uncle Carlo Cinque, affectionately known as “Carlino” to his friends, opened Il San Pietro on June 29, 1970 -St. Peter’s patron feast-, thus a journey in hospitality and charm began.
A great traveler and admirer of different cultures and hospitalities, Carlino fell in love with this dramatic setting and immediately wanted to share his excitement with “foreigners” travelling through his homeland. Carlo will give them the thrill of a unique and natural scenery that can be loved time after time.
The San Pietro became “a journey within a journey”, where emotions and memories were created and never forgotten.
A journey always involves discovery, resourcefulness and creativity, as when the elevator to the beach, completely carved into the rock, opened. Everyone talked of the surprising innovation. And when Carlino “invented” the transfer to the center of Positano, carrying guests in his flittering Fiat Jolly cabrio, he was considered a genius.
More than a hotel in the classical way, the San Pietro is an elegant house, combining Positano’s genuine hospitality with international atmosphere. Here at the hotel, the tradition merges with the present in a blend of harmony and elegance, in a dish prepared by Chef Alois as well as in the beautiful arrangements of fresh flowers in the lobby.
Celebrities and discerning travelers from around the world have enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the main terrace, a lunch al fresco at the exclusive beachfront restaurant Carlino, a romantic dinner at the Michelin star Il San Pietro restaurant, with breathtaking views over the Coast and they have admired the extraordinary beauty of the landscape during the complimentary ride in the hotel’s private boat.
