The MC 15+ is a compact casting machinedesigned especially for the needs of smallerworkshops, enabling high quality castings oreven suitable semi-finished product to bemanufactured quickly and economically. Thebroad spectrum of metals that can be castusing the MC 15+ makes this machine uniquein its sector: with a maximum temperature of2,000°C, even steel, palladium or platinumpose no problem. The MC 15+ is equippedwith a completely new, high-efficiency genera -tor with a 32-bit microcontroller, making itsuperior even to its predecessor the MC 15 inhandling such difficult metals.

Fast, simple casting

The MC series comes fully-equipped, makingentry into the world of casting as simple aspossible.

The whole process of casting can be carriedout simply, quickly and safely without any realprior technical knowledge of casting. In the investment machine the gipsum getsmixed under vacuum – correctly dosed andair bubble free. The flask with the wax modelgets filled under vacuum, too. Vibrationduring filling eliminates air inclusions.The wax is melted off in the furnace and themould is burnt out.

Handling the mini casting system is alsoextremely simple: 1| Fill in the material and heat up. 2| Take the flask from oven and insert intothe machine. The device itself looks after alladditional functions – until we get to thestroke of genius: 3| Pouring off takes place using a 90° rotationof the casting unit. After pouring, the MC 15+automatically switches to overpressure inorder to optimize the mould filling even fordelicate parts.

The crucibles are large enough to solve anystandard casting task one would find in astudio or atelier with no difficulty at all.

The flasks can also accommodate larger orheavier jewellery parts. It is equally possible tomelt and cast minimal amounts of metal. The entire process is extremely fast, especiallyif the goldsmith uses so-called speed invest -ment compounds. This enables rapidresponse to new models, fulfillment of expressorders and the implementation of last-minuteideas, for example before a trade fair.

The MC 50 has been developed with the userin mind for whom the MC 15 is too small buta simple machine from the large VC series(e.g. the VC 400) is too big or requires toomuch manual operation. This small high-performance casting machine is ideal forsmaller production quantities and can beused for jewellery alloys such as gold, silver,copper and bronze, as well as for alloys ofbrass and aluminium. Thanks to the vacuumand overpressure functions and the manyautomatic control features, the machineprovides first class castings with little work –suitable for “beginners”.

For small series and single castings

An important issue is the fast casting ofmaster models or of semi-finished material inany desired shape: the MC 50 makes youautonomous from big casting departments.Thanks to the small size of the machine andits equipment, it is an excellent solution forstudios and goldsmith workshops withlimited space.

VTC 200 V vacuum/pressure casting machine

The VTC 200 V is an extremely versatilecasting machine suitable for a wide range ofapplications – and a number of options thatwere considered mutually incompatible up tonow. Thus, while the VTC 200 V was originallydesigned as a high-temperature castingmachine for casting steel, palladium,platinum etc. (max. 2,000° C), large flasks alsomake it suitable for economically producingcastings in gold, silver, copper, aluminiumand other materials.

The machine combines a dual-chamber diffe-rential pressure system with a tilting mecha-nism. The casting process is achieved byrotating the entire melting-casting unit by90°. One benefit of the tilting system is theuse of economically priced graphite orceramic crucibles (without holes and sealingrods), these tend to have a longer service life.Some alloys, such as copper beryllium,quickly cause crucibles with holes and sealingrods to become untight and thereforeuseless, and for this reason, many castershave so far processed such alloys only inopen systems – which means they can'tchoose to optimise the process withoverpressure or vacuum. With the VTC 200 V,these handicaps no longer apply.

A vacuum can be produced in the meltingchamber and the casting chamber to avoidoxidation processes during melting and airpockets in the casting mould. The flask isautomatically pressed against the meltingchamber for casting, this makes it possible to

switch to overpressure during casting forbetter mould filling; in addition, the vibrationtechnology optimises the process evenfurther. As well as casting with flasks, castinginto ingot moulds is also possible.

Perfect results even in Pt and Pdthanks to vibration system

Due to the vibration technology (patentpending) and the sophisticated vacuum/pres-sure system, this machine is also perfectlysuited to casting platinum and palladium –and all this without the elaborate andsensitive centrifugal mechanism usuallyrequired for platinum casting machines. The digital or program control of ourmachines and the integrated data printer(optional for VC 500 D) ensure a high level ofsafety and the possibility of precise processdocumentation (important for ISO certifiedcasting process).

Until recently flasks with incorrect or differenttemperatures were a safety risk. Duringcasting of very small or delicate parts thetemperature of the flask is of upmostimportance. The measurement of the flasktemperature (standard for machines from VC 500 D onwards) is an important featurewith regards to safety. The temperature of theflask can be monitored to within one degree accuracy.

VC 200 / VC 300The resistor-heated vacuum casting machineVC 200 and the vacuum pressure castingmachine VC 300 are very low priced castingmachines for smaller productions.Nevertheless these machines offer a convin-cing casting quality. Both machines reach upto a maximum temperature of 1,200° C.

VC 400The ideal machine for smaller companiesproducing moderate quantities but needingconsiderably more capacity than that offeredby the MC machines. Often, experiencedcasters are not particularly interested in auto-mated functions or program control, and theycan achieve the same quality with the VC 400machine as with more advanced ones. Itsinduction generator guarantees a fast heat-upand a thorough mixing of the molten metal byinductive bath movement.

VC 500 DFor larger production quantities withcontinuous casting operation, greater perfor-mance (shorter casting times) with evenlarger crucibles and flask capacities (flasks upto 160 mmm ø/400 mm H) is important. Machines for melting and handpouring

Ideal for the melting oflarge parts: no sealing rodconstruction reduces theavailable space.

Some metals develop a lot ofsmoke and oxides during the mel-ting. It’s better to melt them inopen systems, with use of an airabsorber.

With the TM and MU series we offer melting machines for handpouring for many different demands and with crucible capacitiesfrom 155 ccm up to 1,200 ccm. The material is molten in opencrucibles and poured by hand into the mould.

The 12,000 ccm usable volume of the cruciblegives the TF 12000 an enormous capacity. Theoutput of the newly-developed generator is ofequally ample dimensions: 60 kW!

The generator is fitted with a 32-bit micro -controller and is controlled via a console with anLCD display with full text readout. 100 programsenable set process parameters to be stored.

Because of the potentially large weight, theinductor/crucible unit is no longer tilted manually – it uses a motor drive with a stableshaft. Use of a joystick enables the tiltingprocess to be controlled easily and sensitively,as with a pivot lever or wheel.

The TF 12000 is tilted using a joystick.

The fusion between layers has thesame durability as the metal itself. Pre-manu-factured rings can be easily resized.

Indutherm offers different methods ofsintering:The sintering kit for installation into existingcasting machines or special sintering machi-nes, the SU series.

The Sintering Kit

The sintering kit can be installed into existingIndutherm casting machines of the types VC400 to 650 V and in all continuous castingmachines. The kit is ideal for the occasionaldiffusion bonding job and for smaller seriesproduction. Only a few minutes are neededto install/remove the sintering kit.Main benefit of this method: the pressure isgenerated pneumatically and not mechanicallyvia a threaded spindle. This means that thereis no risk of graphite parts breaking as aresult of heat expansion.The sinter kit can be used for the occasionaldiffusion bonding and for small seriesproduction.

Sintering Machine SU 400

The SU 400 is suitable for larger scale pro -duction. It has been specifially constructedfor diffusion bonding in factories whichspecialize in the manufacturing of weddingrings. An excellent quality of bi- or multi-coloured wedding rings is guaranteed.

Benefits:• With the sintering unit SU 400 process can

take place under vacuum, which is important for alloys with manganese component

• Process can take place under inert gas• Straightforward installation/removal of the

rings• Approximate duration of process: 5 minutes • Depending on the thickness of the rings, up

to 6 rings can be processed simultaneously

Sintering Machine SU 450

The new SU 450 is equipped with a highlysensitive sensor system, which permanentlycontrols the reduction of the rings andprovides real-time information about thereduction values on the display. The tempera-ture is regulated automatically and very preci-sely close to the solidus temperature, exactlyuntil the reduction begins.

As soon as the pre-defined reduction valuehas been reached, the process stops automa-tically and so too much deformation can beeliminated (depending on composition andalloy the pre-defined reduction value liesbetween 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm). The “Sensor-Control-System” considerably reduces thetime and material required for the productionfor two major reasons: firstly because theprocess parameters can be defined quicklyand without making lots of test rings; andsecondly because the quality of the sinteringprocess is constantly very high. Therefore thefinishing effort is reduced, as well as the lossof material, which occurs during subsequentdiamond dressing or turning.

The SU 400 is suitable for larger scale pro -duction. It has been specifially constructedfor diffusion bonding in factories whichspecialize in the manufacturing of weddingrings. An excellent quality of bi- or multi-coloured wedding rings is guaranteed.

take place under vacuum, which is important for alloys with manganese component

rings• Approximate duration of process: 5 minutes • Depending on the thickness of the rings, up

to 6 rings can be processed simultaneously

Sintering Machine SU 450

The new SU 450 is equipped with a highlysensitive sensor system, which permanentlycontrols the reduction of the rings andprovides real-time information about thereduction values on the display. The tempera-ture is regulated automatically and very preci-sely close to the solidus temperature, exactlyuntil the reduction begins.

As soon as the pre-defined reduction valuehas been reached, the process stops automa-tically and so too much deformation can beeliminated (depending on composition andalloy the pre-defined reduction value liesbetween 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm). The “Sensor-Control-System” considerably reduces thetime and material required for the productionfor two major reasons: firstly because theprocess parameters can be defined quicklyand without making lots of test rings; andsecondly because the quality of the sinteringprocess is constantly very high. Therefore thefinishing effort is reduced, as well as the lossof material, which occurs during subsequentdiamond dressing or turning.
