DESIGN BRIEF

I am going to design 20 different logos for my school, Sinarmas World Academy. They are in need of new logos for IB learner profile, design cycle and areas of interaction. Teachers and students in SWA are my client. They need logos for students who need to understand and learn about areas of interaction, design cycle and IB learner profile. I will create IB profile and choose one either areas of interaction or design cycle. I am going to create 15 logos, which are trendy, simple and seems interested for all ages. They must include basic idea of what those logos mean. Also they must be aesthetic, hugh quality and eye catching using simple colors in the logos.


SPECIFICATION

In this product, I am going to use Photoshop and Illustrator, the reason for this choice is because I can use this software effectively compare to any other softwares.

I will manage the time and the whole project following design cycle, including investigation, design, plan, create and evaluation. This project will be finished in the provided time.

The size must be not blurry and clear enough to see it even when in a very big size.

The logos must be aesthetic, eye catching, simple and in strong colors.

The audience of the logos are the students and teachers in SWA.

The logos must help and tell students and teachers in SWA about the IB learner profile, the design cycle and areas of interaction.

The purpose of the logos is to show students and teachers in SWA what are the IB learner profile, the design cycle and areas of interaction.


SPECIFICATION: TEST

I researched for many different applications I can use to make logos and I found out that Photoshop and Illustrator is the best tool to use.

I will create a time line to manage time effectively and finish perfectly until evaluation stage in provided time.

I will check if there is a specific size that the school announced about it.

I will make sure the logos tells well about what they represents.

The design will be kept simple without no unnecessary decorations. Also try to use only strong colors and in a good quality.

I will check to teachers and students the rough designs of the logos are eye catching and interesting.


DESIGNS


Pros: Simple and strong, the silhouette of the human is creative and cute. Also able to read “Balanced” well.

Cons: This does not represents what “Balanced”means very well. Spelling wrong, one‘a’is missing here.


Pros: The hand and heart represents what caring means well. Imaginative and creative idea.

Cons: Too simple.


Pros: The book and question mark represents what ‘knowledgeable’ means very well.

Cons: Drawings must be better and too much alphabets. Not memorable.


Pros: Like the over turned‘e.’ This is pretty creative idea.

Cons: Unimaginative and no image. Not memorable. Too simple.


Pros: Like the earth shape in this logo design. Also the arrows showing what is‘communicating.’

Cons: Not memorable.


Pros: Simple and eye catching design.

Cons: Doesn’t really relates to ‘risk taker.’


Pros: The image of holding hands in the alphabet‘c’and‘p’ represents‘principled’well.

Cons: Not memorable. No image.


Pros: Simple. Opened door and human going inside is creative idea. Able to get an idea what Open-Minded is.

Cons: Not memorable.


Pros: The idea is came from the thinker statue. Creative and memorable.

Cons: Too simple. Able to understand people who know what is the thinker statue.


Pros:‘Q’and‘?’represents questions. Simple design. Able to read well

Cons: No image. Dull and common. Not creative.


Pros: Simple and strong design.

Cons: People can’t recognize this design as a human ingenuity.


Pros: Cute and simple design.

Cons: Dull. Doesn’t represents approach to learning very well.


Pros: Tells about environments well, trees can stand for it.

Cons: Cliche, not attractive and common idea. Not creative.


Pros: Cute and simple design. Can be attractive for young students.

Cons: Cliche and dull. Not creative.


Pros: Simple and strong design. Stands well as the logo for community and service.

Cons: Not attractive and dull.


Pros: The magnifying glass and silhouette of detective represents the investigation stage. Detective is pretty creative idea.

Cons: Not very imaginative. Magnifying glass is common idea.


Pros: The brush represents about the design stage well.

Cons: Dull and cliche. Not creative and not attractive.


Pros: Simple and strong design. Can be interesting.

Cons: Why the light bulb represents plan stage?


Pros: The tool image can represents for both design and information technology.

Cons: Too simple. Not interesting and dull.


Pros: Like the idea‘A+’of the design. Creative. Clear.

Cons: No image, not imaginative. IB students doesn’t use grades in alphabet.


SUMMARY OF DESIGNS

I designed 20 different logos of 3 different groups. 10 logos IB learner profile, 5 areas of interaction and 5 design cycle. I tried to design logos can be stay in a set if in a same group.

IB Learner Profile: These are text logos. Most of them represents very well what it means also I tried to be creative and make a simple, interesting and strong designs. However they goes too simple and sometimes doesn’t tells what they means at all.

Areas Of Interaction: In a icon type of logo. They are cute, strong and simple designs. Big images and most of them represents what each logos means well. However, they are dull and common ideas. Not creative at all.

Design Cycle: These are text type of logos. I like the simple, strong, creative and interesting designs in this group of logos. Also these logos tells my audience about what the logos represents for. However some of them are dull and cliche.


CONCLUSION WITH JUSTIFICATION

Software The designs can be made in chosen softwares. I will use Photoshop and Illustrator.

Time The time will be managed well by making a time line. I will finish creating the logos perfectly in provided time.

Aesthetic The logos are simple, strong and seems interesting for all ages.

Function The logos represents about design cycle very well. Tells about what are they.

Purpose Students will be able to understand design cycle easily with these logos.

Size There is no chosen or recommended size. I will make big enough not make it blurry.

Durability The design is saved as a computer file, it will be lasts forever unless delete it.

Like it? I like the logos of design cycle than areas of interaction.
