艦名は、「冬空に高く輝く、凛冽(りんれつ)とした冬の夜を照らす月」に由来します。旧海軍の優れた防空駆逐艦、秋月型駆逐艦の８番艦で、あの戦艦大和が撃沈された「天一号作戦」に参加し、生還した武功艦である「冬月」に次ぎ二代目となる命名です。

汎用型護衛艦「ふゆづき」は、京都府舞鶴市に所在する第３護衛隊群・第３護衛隊に配備されています。 JS FUYUZUKI is a Self-Defense Force ship, under command of 3rd Escort Division and 3rd Escort Flotilla in Maizuru, Kyoto. 本艦の特徴は、バランスのとれた対空・対潜・対水上能力及び高い通信能力を有しており、護衛隊においても大きな戦力を発揮します。 Her characteristic is the ability of well-balanced in each anti-air, submarine, surface and high communication capacity.

主要任務

□ 味方艦艇に対する対空・対潜防護任務

□ 島嶼防衛における５インチ砲による対地・対艦射撃

□ 艦載ヘリコプターとの共同による対潜戦及び巡航ミサイル対処

１ ６２口径５インチ砲 5inch Gun 62 Caliber Mark45 Mod4 対地、対水上、対空攻撃・防御手段として使われる。 The defensive and offensive measure for land, surface and air target.

３ ファランクス近接防衛システム Phalanx CIWS proximity defense system 巡航ミサイルや航空機からの攻撃に対する最後の防御手段として使われる。 The last defensive measure for the anti cruise missile.

４ 短ＳＡＭシステム３型Ａ Fire Control system 3A 同時多目標対処可能な最新の国産射撃指揮装置 The latest FCS, able to engage multi targets simultaneously.

２ 垂直発射装置（ＥＳＳＭ/ＡＳＲＯＣ） Vertical Launching System 対潜、対空攻撃・防御手段として使われる。 The defensive and offensive measure for subsurface and air target.

５ 水上発射管（ＨＯＳ－３０３） Torpedo Tube 近距離にいる潜水艦に対し、魚雷攻撃を行うのに使われる。 Launching torpedo against close-distance submarine.

９ 搭載ヘリコプター（ＳＨ－６０Ｋ） Helicopter from air base 対潜・対水上戦から人員移送等幅広い任務に使われる。 Using for wide variety of mission from anti submarine and anti surface warfare to passenger transfer etc.
