Exciting AdventureThe Kanakuk Kamps Story

Kanakuk Kamps began in 1926 with a group of boys from Texas trekking tothe Ozarks for 8 weeks of building character and stamina alongside great Christian role models. Since then Kanakuk has grown into 7 kids kamps and K-Kauai Family Kamp. Along the way we have found that character and stamina are timeless, great Christian role models are priceless and that boys, girls and families should share in the fun. Kanakuk promises to provide you with an “Exciting Adventure in Christian Athletics.” We see you as family, growing with us as we strive to provide the best in Christian camping. We dream of your family making memories with us for years to come

Christian AthleticsWhat We Believe

Big things may be accomplished - one small step after another.

Kanakuk Kampers participate in activities each day that instill the truth and power of these prin-ciples. Our prayer is that Kam-pers form habits that will sustain them Kamp to home and back!Kanakuk incorporates the best sports training with the best faith training!

This summer I had the opportunity to go to K-West! This was my fifth year to go to Kamp. I couldn’t wait to get there

and reunite with my former Kabin mates. I learned a lot about how com-pletely and totally awesome our God is and about how small I am compared to Him. Last year we had a great time

hanging out with friends, building new relationships, and chillin’ with God...

and we ALWAYS have fun!

Lexi Haridek: All-State Basketball

As the March Madness has almost runits course and high school basketball now over, I continue to get reports of our K2 kids performing remarkable feats for our Savior Jesus Christ on the hardwood. Lexi Hardiek is a 4.0 student and a sophomore for the Hill City High basketball team.

Last summer Lexi came to camp for the first time, and as good as K2 Basketball speciality is, Lexi actually loved Deb-bie Jo’s Bible study even more! This season Lexi averaged 22.3 points per game, earned unanimous first team all-league, and earned 2nd Team Kansas All-State honors! Lexi’s team finished 15-8 losing in substate to the eventual Kansas State Runner-ups! We cannot imagine how great the rest of Lexi’s career at Hill City High will be since they are only losing one starter from this years’ team! Keep it up Lexi!

Seth Higgins: Keeping You Scheduled This Summer!

Many of you K2 Football studs have very fond memories of my friend Seth Higgins tugging his shorts up and going crazy during football specialty. Seth brings energy to K2unlike many people I have seen! This past fall Seth helped lead his Hardin Simmons University Football Team to a 9-2 record reaching the first round of the Division III playoffs. Seth looks forward to next sea-son and ending his career at Hardin Simmons on a great note! He chose for his final summer as a col-lege athlete to go crazy at K2 and at FUAGNEM. He will help run K2 football specialty and oversee the program.

K-Wet & K-WildBetter Than Ever This Year!

..........................................Experience Christ, Whether Your Climbing or Skiing!

All 7 of our Missouri kamps are nestled on gorgeous lakefront property, and our Colorado kamp is next to the Pine River in the foothills of the San Juan Mountains.

Kanakuk is conveniently located approximately

one hour from Branson, MO within the heart of the beauti-ful Ozark Mountains. Branson is now “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, drawing almost 8 million visitors per year. When you come pick your child up from Kamp, Branson is a great addition to your trip!

Trip is an important part of Kanakuk, and

in Summer 2009 some exciting changes will be made. Month Kampers will have the opportunity of camping out at K-Wild in North Arkansas and also at K-Wet in Lampe, Missouri. Two-week Kam-pers will get to spend time at K-Wet and enjoy their famous “Icky”! Both places will offer climb-ing, canoeing, and other water sports.

“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in

newness of life.” -Romans 6:4

Most of the Kamps are located on Table Rock Lake, allowing Kampers to be baptized if they make the decision to follow Christ.
