December 2, 2013 To Whom it Concerns, This letter of reference is for Kelly Orosz, a fourth grade teacher at Shanghai Community International School. I have known Kelly professionally since August of 2012 when she arrived in Shanghai to teach fourth grade. Kelly is an energetic and talented educator with personal values and a work ethic to be admired. Kelly Orosz is a consummate professional as a teacher. She is conscientious, reflective and thoroughly dedicated to teaching her students as effectively as possible, expecting the best both from them and herself. Kelly is a teacher who works towards creating an engaging environment with which to teach her students. She is tech savvy with science as her strength and these skills are used in her class. The classroom atmosphere Kelly develops is supportive and calm but also reflective of her enthusiasm and consistently high energy level. Students clearly enjoy her classes and Kelly clearly enjoys teaching them. Kelly has also established herself as a valuable member of the school community. She possesses a personality that makes her popular with her colleagues as well as with students and parents – her communication with parents is impressive. She keeps an updated web page for parents and students and sends regular communications home concerning the taught curriculum, important dates and what's coming up in her class. She seeks out promising practices, applies them and then shares her ideas with others. She possesses an impressive teaching talent; she differentiates effectively and she also understands the needs of students. She also participates in and organizes after school activities. Earlier this year, Kelly held a family science day on a Saturday for the students and parents of our community. It was well attended and received. There is no doubt that Kelly Orosz is an asset to this school and will be for any school that is fortunate enough to employ her. Kelly works as part of a bigger team with integrity to do what is best for all students. She is a committed and thoughtful educator and I recommend her without reservation. I would not hesitate to hire her if the opportunity presented itself.
