Cel egzaminu

Egzamin ma na celu sprawdzenie kompetencji

językowych w ramach sprawności słuchanie,

mówienie, czytanie i pisanie. Materiał

egzaminacyjny skonstruowany został w oparciu

o porozumienie standaryzacyjne dla sił zbrojnych

Paktu Północnoatlantyckiego określające stopnie

znajomości języków obcych (STANAG 6001).

W pięciopoziomowej skali dokumentu egzamin

odpowiada poziomowi 1. Egzamin może być

przeprowadzany m.in. na zakończenie kursów

językowych na poziomie 1. organizowanych w

Siłach Zbrojnych RP, w ramach sesji

eksternistycznych lub jako egzamin wstępny do

szkół wojskowych. W każdym przypadku egzamin

sprawdza kompetencje językowe w odniesieniu

do poziomu zaawansowania bez względu na

przyjęty program nauczania.

Charakterystyka osób przystępujących

do egzaminu

Egzamin jest organizowany z myślą o kadrze

zawodowej, kandydatach na żołnierzy

zawodowych oraz pracownikach cywilnych

Wojska Polskiego.

Sytuacje komunikacyjne – wykorzystanie

języka obcego

Język wykorzystywany jest w sytuacjach

zawodowych i towarzyskich oraz w czasie

podróży.

Opis egzaminu

Egzamin składa się z czterech części

odbywających się w następującej kolejności:

• Czytanie

• Słuchanie

• Pisanie

• Mówienie

RODZAJE TEKSTÓW

Proste teksty oryginalne lub adaptowane (teksty

informacyjne, instrukcje, adaptowane fragmenty

prozy). Informacja ma charakter faktograficzny,

osadzona jest na poziomie konkretu i przekazana w

sposób bezpośredni.

ZAKRES TEMATYCZNY

Tematyka dotyczy znanych zagadnień

niewymagających od osoby zdającej wiedzy

specjalistycznej. Teksty mogą zawierać opis ludzi

i miejsc oraz narrację wydarzeń przeszłych,

teraźniejszych i przyszłych. Proste teksty o

tematyce wojskowej.

TESTOWANE UMIEJĘTNOŚCI

• rozumienie informacji ogólnych i

szczegółowych

• rozumienie informacji ogólnych w tekście z

pominięciem nieznanego słownictwa (czytanie

selektywne)

• wnioskowanie znaczenia słów z kontekstu

RODZAJE ZADAŃ

• pytania wielokrotnego wyboru

• dopasowanie stwierdzeń do tekstu

• stwierdzenia typu prawda/fałsz

OPIS TESTU

Zdający mają 70 minut na udzielenie odpowiedzi.

Test składa się z trzech zadań zawierających 20

pytań. Łączna długość tekstów wynosi od 1400 do

1550 słów.

Zadanie 1. – 2 do 3 tekstów, do których ułożone

są pytania wielokrotnego wyboru, po 3 opcje w

każdym. Liczba pytań w zadaniu od 7 do 8.

Maksymalna liczba pytań na tekst – 5.

Zadanie 2. – 5 tekstów po około 100 słów. Do

każdego tekstu ułożone są po dwa stwierdzenia,

jedno prawdziwe, drugie fałszywe. Wszystkie

stwierdzenia zamieszczone są na osobnej stronie

bez wskazania, którego tekstu dotyczą. Należy

dopasować prawdziwe stwierdzenie do

odpowiadającego mu tekstu.

Zadanie 3. – 2 do 3 tekstów, do których ułożone

są pytania typu prawda/fałsz. Liczba pytań

w zadaniu od 7 do 8. Maksymalna liczba pytań na

tekst – 5.

POLECENIA

Polecenia do zadań w teście sformułowane są

w języku polskim. Przed rozpoczęciem egzaminu

instrukcje udzielane są w języku polskim.

PUNKTACJA

We wszystkich częściach testu zdający otrzymują

po 1 punkcie za każdą prawidłową odpowiedź. Aby

zaliczyć sprawność czytanie, zdający musi uzyskać

minimum 14 punktów z 20 możliwych.

materiału egzaminacyjnego każde zadanie

poprzedzone jest instrukcjami w języku polskim,

po których następuje przerwa na zapoznanie się

z treścią pytań. Po wysłuchaniu wszystkich zadań

zdający mają 4 minuty na przeniesienie

odpowiedzi na arkusz odpowiedzi.

Punktacja

We wszystkich częściach testu zdający otrzymują

po 1 punkcie za każdą prawidłową odpowiedź.

Aby zaliczyć sprawność słuchanie, zdający musi

uzyskać minimum 14 punktów z 20 możliwych.

Opis testu

Test trwa 60 minut i polega na wykonaniu dwóch

zadań.

Zadanie 1. - List prywatny (e-mail) w oparciu

o zamieszczony dodatkowy materiał w języku

polskim (np. otrzymany list, fragment tekstu).

Polecenie zawiera 5 podpunktów, które należy

zrealizować w 12 – 15 zdaniach.

Zadanie 2. – Krótka wiadomość o charakterze

służbowym w oparciu o 5 podpunktów w języku

polskim.

Polecenia

Przed rozpoczęciem egzaminu instrukcje

udzielane są w języku polskim. Polecenia

i wskazówki do zadań egzaminacyjnych

sformułowane są w języku polskim.

Wymagania

Od zdających oczekuje się umiejętności

formułowania krótkiej wypowiedzi pisemnej na

konkretne tematy dotyczące codziennych

wydarzeń, zarówno w sferze zawodowej jak

i osobistej. Zdający powinni wykazać się

następującymi umiejętnościami:

• dziękowanie • formułowanie prostych opinii

• odmawianie • opisywanie ludzi, miejsc oraz rzeczy

• opisywanie przeszłych oraz teraźniejszych

wydarzeń

• informowanie o planach na przyszłość

Tekst powinien nosić znamiona świadomej

organizacji, uzyskanej np. za pomocą prostych

łączników zdaniowych.

Ocenianie

Wypowiedź pisemna jest oceniana przez dwóch

egzaminatorów. Za każdy tekst zdający

otrzymują maksymalnie 10 punktów i muszą

uzyskać 14 z maksymalnej liczby 20 punktów,

aby zaliczyć sprawność pisanie. Kryteria oceny

podzielone są na przedziały punktowe. Aby

zmieścić się w danym przedziale punktowym,

tekst musi spełniać wszystkie kryteria.

Opis testu

Egzamin ustny składa się z dwóch części i trwa od

9 do 12 minut.

Część 1a- Egzaminator prowadzi rozmowę ze

zdającym. Zadawane pytania dotyczą danych

osobowych oraz miejsca pracy. Zdający może być

poproszony o przeliterowanie imienia i nazwiska

alfabetem tradycyjnym lub wojskowym. Część 1a

trwa od 1 do 2 minut.

Część 1b- Zdający wypowiada się na dwa tematy.

Temat 1. – opis miejsca, osoby, rzeczy lub

umiejętności (czasownik „can” – tylko w ramach

dodatkowych pytań);

Temat 2. – ma charakter narracyjny; jest to

omówienie wydarzeń w czasie przeszłym,

teraźniejszym lub przyszłym (plany na przyszłość).

Po wypowiedzi zdającego na każdy z tematów,

egzaminator zadaje dodatkowe pytania związane

z treścią wypowiedzi. Propozycje pytań podane są

w zestawie egzaminacyjnym do każdego tematu.

Pozostałe pytania od egzaminatora są uzależnione

od dotychczasowej wypowiedzi zdającego. Część

1b trwa około 6 minut, po 3 minuty na każdy temat

i pytania. Zakres tematyczny:

• codzienne czynności

• czas wolny

• miejsce zamieszkania

• podróże

• podstawowe artykuły żywnościowe

• pogoda / pory roku

• rodzina / przyjaciele

• spędzanie wolnego czasu

• sport

• zamawianie / spożywanie posiłków

Część 2. – scenka sytuacyjna – krótka rozmowa

prowadzona dla osiągnięcia określonego celu.

Polecenia do zadań sformułowane są w języku

angielskim.

Wymagania


posługiwania się językiem w sposób skuteczny,

przy wykorzystaniu technik omówień, wyjaśniania

i poprawiania własnych błędów. Wypowiedź

zdającego w znacznej mierze nie powinna

pozostawiać wątpliwości co do intencji mówiącego.

Ocenianie

Wypowiedź ustna jest oceniana przez dwóch

egzaminatorów. Za każdą część zdający otrzymują

maksymalnie 10 punktów i muszą uzyskać 14 z

maksymalnej liczby 20 punktów, aby zaliczyć

sprawność mówienie. Kryteria oceny podzielone są

na przedziały punktowe. Aby zmieścić się w danym

przedziale punktowym, wypowiedź musi spełniać

wszystkie kryteria dla danego przedziału.

I was on my way back from work. I was driving along Rhode Island Avenue, too tired to think about anything. I had a horrible headache, so I reached into my pocket for an aspirin. My mobile phone rang at the same time, but I didn’t answer.

I turned right, then left and slowed down to stop at the traffic lights. And then it happened. I was not careful enough and… I hit the car in front of me. A white car with license plates from Maryland.

I saw a woman getting out of the car. She looked really unhappy and it was not surprising. She probably thought I was an aggressive driver.

She was carefully looking at her car and did not talk to me at first. Then she showed me some marks on her car and… smiled warmly. “I was so worried! But it really doesn’t look bad,” she said. “Why is she so nice?” I thought. “These marks were there before,” she added. Then she smiled at me again, wished me a nice evening and… drove away.

I was standing there for a while, completely shocked. She did not argue with me. She did not call the police. How was that possible? Then I went back to my car and happily drove home. Most drivers would be arrogant and angry in such situations. I couldn’t believe that I met such a polite and understanding person. Suddenly, I didn’t have a headache anymore. Tekst 2 One day, I was walking in the local park. Suddenly, someone touched my arm. I was sure

it was one of my friends, so I turned back and smiled warmly. But the person that I saw was a complete stranger. He was in his mid-fifties and was much taller than me. He was not aggressive. He just told me to give him my bag. Without a word, I gave him what he wanted. I didn’t run away. Why? Well, I was afraid to move. Not because of the man, but because he was with a very big bull terrier. I was really scared when I saw the dog. When I let go of my bag, they quickly walked away.

A moment later, I walked to the police station. The officer there was eating his sandwich and asked me to wait. Then, I told him what the attacker looked like. It took about 15 minutes and then I was taken home in a police car. They never found the man with the dog. I never got my wallet and my documents back. But, worst of all, I lost my notes from university classes. How could I prepare for the exams without them?

Story 1 I am walking up the street. A car is parked about 20 meters in front. As I come nearer, I hear barking. The sound is coming from the car. I take another look at it and see that the car is filled with dogs. Literally filled! About 10 dogs in a small cabriolet. There are dogs everywhere. Big dogs in the back, small dogs poking their heads between the seats. A dog putting its paw on the steering wheel. There are so many dogs that I am not sure how the woman can drive or even sit.

Story 2 It happened so fast. A cyclist zoomed through the red light on a busy crossroads. I was on my way home, walking back from the subway, and waiting for the green light. I heard the car brakes and the shouts. I turned my head right and saw the biker as he was zigzagging his way between the cars in the middle of the crossroads. I saw him riding away quickly, unhurt. He escaped death here.

Story 3 The free weekly in town wrote about fat cops on its front page. I thought it was strange but

apparently it's a big problem. Policemen that can't

run faster than criminals. Not too good for fighting crimes. So I am coming back from an evening with

friends when I see these two cops on motorbikes. They are fit and slim. They’re just coming out of a

store and mounting their bikes slowly, talking to each other. They are commenting on the article in

that paper. Fat cops! They are laughing and shaking their heads over the subject.

Story 4 I was coming out of the subway and noticed people looking toward a mid-size car. It was parked right in front of the bus station. At first I thought that the driver was picking somebody up. But then I realized that he was picking up many, many people. The car was so full I was not quite sure how they closed the door. As the car back door closed, I could count at least 7 people in it. The last one in was actually lying across, her feet

poking out of the window.

Story 5 A woman is on the other side of the

road. She is holding a child in her left

arm. It is raining and people are

boarding the bus at the bus stop. The

next bus is in an hour. The woman is

yelling and it seems for a moment that

she will try to walk across the road

despite the heavy traffic. There are six

lanes and cars are going fast. Luckily

for the woman, one of the passengers

hears her and requests the driver to stop

the bus. Everyone is waiting for her as

she is making her way slowly to the

bus.

Last weekend, I decided to ride a bike to the lake at the end of Rock Creek Park. It was quite hot and there were only few people out. A small girl was standing on a picnic table and selling lemonade. She was really sweet and smiled at people walking by.

I stopped and bought myself a 25 cents glass of lemonade. Her mother, of course, controlled the transaction. I gave her 30 cents and said that the extra money was for her professional service. The child was surprised but the mother smiled and thanked me. She complained that they didn’t have many customers because of the weather. It was true as not many people were out in the sun that day.

The ride finished after mile 35 as my bike broke down. I did the last 5 miles by bus. The next morning I went to the nearest bicycle shop. On my way there, I passed two boys. They were selling lemonade and cookies. “How’s business?” I asked them. At the same time I thought of yesterday’s girl who was looking for customers. The two boys were happy and answered “We have had 3 clients already!” There were only local people there, but it didn’t worry the boys at all. What is more, their lemonade was more expensive (50 cents a glass) but nice and cold.

Like most offices, my office is a place where I do my job. Of course, I have all the necessary equipment on my desk that helps me concentrate on my work and feel comfortable at the same time. I have the telephone next to the fax machine on the right side of my desk. My computer is in the center of my desk. There is also a comfortable office chair to sit on and some pictures of my family between the computer and the telephone. I also have a lamp near my computer which I use in the evening if I work late (from time to time I have to work long hours to do reports for my boss). In the room, there is a modern armchair and a fashionable sofa. I also have a low table in front of the sofa on which there are some industry magazines. I have always thought that my office and desk are typical of a manager, but I was wrong! My American colleagues often have desks that are surprisingly empty. These empty desks can show that the manager often travels. The fact that he is out of the office most of the time means that he is busy, hardworking and, of course, successful. Sometimes, in the USA, I can see footmarks on the desk. It is because some American managers like to put their feet up on the desk. They don’t do it when they are in a meeting. It’s a good way to relax when they are talking on the phone in the office where nobody can see them. The only thing that you can find on the American manager’s desk is a laptop computer. In fact, this laptop is their true desk. Nowadays, most managers do almost all their work on laptops. Sometimes, they can even take them and work at home if they are ill. What is more, it shows that a manager is ready to travel and take up difficult tasks.

Christmas is the time when people are happy and

excited. Few people are sad or angry. It’s the

time when everybody cleans their apartments

and prepares traditional food. Children wait for

this time all year long. Then, they happily open

their presents. But I’m not like that. I feel sad

and bored at Christmas. Why? Well… It’s because

I’m not married and I don’t have a girlfriend. So

for me Christmas is the most horrible time in the

whole year. I feel lonely and unhappy. I don’t

clean my apartment or cook, because nobody

visits me at Christmas. Every year, I leave my

untidy apartment and go to my parents’ house.

We watch boring films on TV and eat too much.

I mean… what’s the fun? I’ll tell you about my

last Christmas. Like every year, I went to visit my

parents in New Canaan, Connecticut. On

December 23rd I woke up early. I decided to go

to the gym. And… you won’t believe it! The

fitness club was closed! Was I the only person in

New Canaan who wanted to exercise at

Christmas time? Well… I just thought it was

strange. In the evening, that same day, I walked

to the supermarket. To buy some beer. But I

couldn’t buy it! It was after eight pm.

Supermarkets do not sell alcohol after eight pm

in Connecticut. Finally, I went jogging with my

walkman. While I was running, my batteries died.

Gosh! I wasn’t lucky! I went back to my parents’

house. I was so tired that I didn’t want to walk to

the supermarket again. So I decided to get there

by taxi and buy the batteries. But… Taxi drivers

didn’t work because it was Christmas time.

Maybe they work in New York, but surely not in

New Canaan. Depressed and angry, I decided to

help my mother. The Christmas presents were

already packed. So I helped her in the kitchen.

We were cooking and talking about my ex-

girlfriends again. Oh, bother!

Hello, everyone! Today, I’d like to tell you about

my best friend. His name is Peter. Peter is from

Amsterdam. He’s Dutch, but he lives in London.

His wife, Cornelia, is English. They have two

children. When Peter was a child, he wanted to

be a fireman. When he was a teenager, he

decided to become a doctor. But later on, Peter

got interested in economics. He studied

economics at university and now he works in a

bank. He really loves his job. Cornelia speaks

three languages: Dutch, Spanish and English.

She is a teacher. But she does not teach English.

She does not teach Dutch, either. She teaches

Spanish. Her students like her very much. She is

a wonderful teacher. Their children’s names are

Miranda and Edward. Miranda is a student of

secondary school. She doesn’t like geography and

she hates physics. But she loves history. Edward

is a 19-year-old. Now he is travelling around the

world. He wants to study at university when he

comes back. Peter and Cornelia have a really

unusual hobby. In their free time, they often act

in amateur theatre. Yes! That’s right! They

become actors in their free time. At the moment,

they are working on Shakespeare’s play, “King

Lear”. It’s hard work, but they both really love it.

You probably want to know how I met Cornelia

and Peter. Well, I met them at the theatre. I was

a director at a play they were in. We had a great

time and really understood each other. We even

decided to go skiing together. It was… let me

think… about four years ago! No… Wait… It was

three years ago!. I’m quite sure. We had such a

good time. Peter and Cornelia are nice people.

I’m very happy I met them. They are my best

friends.

- Well, finally we decided to do both. One week

relax by the seaside.

- And what did you like most?

- Well, we liked sightseeing very much.

Sunbathing was also great. But we loved

meeting local people most. We could finally

practise our Spanish!

- It sounds wonderful!

- And it was, believe me. We had the time of our

lives.
