Preface

Thank you for buying the MRC model Sound Power Telephone system. To ensure that your equipment provides optimum satisfaction and service, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the LC-800 Series. We recommend that you store the manual carefully for future reference.

Important

On the Sound Power Telephone system, we use inboard communication at strategic position (W / H, Engine Control Room and Steering Gear Room). If we are not handled correctly, could present danger to yourself or others property, These warnings and notes are classified as described below. Please be fully aware of the importance of these items when using this manual.

Cautions indicate items that, if ignored, may result in personal injury or physical damage.

Notes on using the LC-800 series

1. Do not dismantle the system. : Failure to observe these cautions may result in electric shock or damage to the in-external equipment. Please contact to your authorized MRC dealer for maintenance, inspections, and adjustments.

2. Regular check: Must be need a regular check of operator at least once a semiannually and maker or guaranteed engineer for safety using of the system.

3. Observe the instruction in this manual for correct operation of the PA system. 4. To prevent moisture and foreign materials entering your system, do not place objects on your one. 5. Do not place objects that could obstruct the airflow through the cooling vents in front, on top, or to the

sides of the system.

1. General Descriptions The telephone system is designed for high stability, amplification and clearance. To gain the functions of the existing system and excellent communication quality, it implements the low power consumption using a capacitor-battery. Also, it is operated independently of the power supply of the vessel so it is used in emergency. The LC-800 system described in this manual consists of the direct (1:1) and mutual selection types (1:12 / 24).

2. Operations and Specifications

2.1 Telephone Sets: The sound power (battery less) telephone consists of the direct and mutual selection types and is divided into the following according to the purpose.

2.2 Electric Specifications a. Compass Safety Distance : Min. 1-meter b. Voice Transmitting Sensitivity : 0.2V ± 0.1Vrms c. Frequency Characteristics: less than 6dB(300Hz ∼ 3kHz) d. Generator Output Voltage : 75V ± 10% e. DC power can be connected to this telephone for dimmer source only.

2.3 Direct Type (1:1 Station)-(LC-700 Series Only)

2.3.1 Calling

a) Lift the handset and quickly rotate the handle of the magnetic generator 10 times. b) Then, the calling signal is transmitted to the called party. c) If the other party responses, you talk with him or her.

2.3.2 Answering

a) The bell rings while the lamp blinks. b) Lift the handset. c) Communication

2.4 Mutual Selection Type (Max. 1:12 Station)-(LC-800 Series Only)

2.4.1 Calling

a) Lift the handset and select the switch you want to call. b) Quickly rotate the handle of the magnetic generator 10 times and then the calling signal is

transmitted to the called party. c) Communication

2.4.2 Answering

a) Same as item 2.3.2






2.5 Cautions 2.5.1 This battery-less telephone (sound power telephone) uses the power charged in capacitor for

approximately 30 minutes. 2.5.2 Terminal Board "SN”: Connect to self number. 2.5.3 Terminal Board "COM”: Common line of all telephones 2.5.4 Terminal Board "+, -”: If the relay box is not used, the bell, R/L and horn connected to the external

power (AC/DC). 2.5.5 Terminal Board "B1, B2”: Contact for external signal

3. Sound Power (Battery Less) Telephone Equipment Family 3.1 Desk Type Telephone (LC-711, LC-812)

With a non-waterproofing "ABS" resin, this telephone has speaking circuit, bell, lamp and handset. It is fixed with fastener or bracket so it cannot be separated while the vessel is moved. The terminal box (JB-61, 62) is designed with non-waterproof.

3.2 Wall Type Telephone (LC-713, LC-814) This telephone includes headset type, sub receiver type and standard type (LC-213F1/G1) that has the

relay circuit for external signal. Also, it is designed to be the indoor waterproof with built-in speaking circuit and LED lamp. In a noisy place, use the headset type (LC-213G/G1) or sub receiver type (LC-213F/F1).

3.3 Flush Type Telephone (LC-715, LC-816) This telephone is designed to be non-waterproof with the built-in handset, speaking circuit, LED lamp,

buzzer and terminal. The LC-816A telephone is a flush type with a dimmer and used in a wheel house.

3.4 Portable Type Telephone (LC-717, LC-818) This telephone is designed to be indoor waterproof with the built-in handset, speaking circuit, magnetic

generator handle, LED lamp and terminal for cord connection. The auxiliary equipment includes the water-proof junction box (JB-5) and connection cord (5-20m). Generally, in case of calling to the desired place, connect the extension cord and use a handset. The operating method is similar to other telephones. After calling, put the handset in place and close the cover, identifying cable. For storage, disconnect

the connection cable and cover the water-proof cap tightly. For rainy weather, especially, be sure to close the cover to protect the internal device. In rainy weather, especially, be sure to close the cover to protect the internal device.

4. Maintenance and Trouble Shooting 4.1 Maintenance

If you use this system properly, it does not generate the system failure. However, if this system generates the failure or error, perform troubleshooting as follows. This manual does not mention the incorrect wiring, missing wiring, insufficient insulation and power

supplier. ＊Caution: If the failure occurs in relay due to bad contact, you must not clean the contact.

Broken magnetic generator coil Check broken line of coil with a tester. Replace it with new

one.

Bad contact of magnetic generator Check the contact with a multi-meter Clean the contact.

Insufficient output of magnetic generator

Check a voltage with a multi-meter (AC 50V or more)

Replace it with new one.

Bad selection switch Check the contact with a multi-meter Replace it with new one or clean it.

Broken circuit Check broken line according to the schematic diagram

Solder it or replace it with new one.

Bad buzzer or LED

Bad buzzer or contact of buzzer

Check the buzzer or the contact of the buzzer with a multi-meter

Replace it with new one or clean the contact.

Bad LED or contact of LED

Check the LED or the contact of LED with a multi-meter

Replace it with new one or clean the contact.

Broken circuit Check broken line according to the schematic diagram

Solder it or replace it with new one.

Bad calling

Bad calling unit Check the click sound with a Multi-meter.

Replace it with new one.

Bad contact of transmitter microphone units

Separate the end tip of each unit or the handset.

Clean the contact or insert the end tip after testing.

Bad handset cord Check the cord with a tester. Replace it with new one.
