"Please use the chat box." （チャットボックスを使ってください。）

■ Objective : To boost the student’s confdence.

■ Required Time : 1-2minutes

■ Desired Action：

・Introduce the lesson for the day.

・Read the title and ask the student to say the title after you.

■ Action to Avoid：

・Do not spend a long time explaining the title.

■ Lesson Script：

・Greet the student before starting the lesson.

・Check if the student can hear you clearly.

- Can you hear me clearly? Koe wa kikoemasu ka

・Introduce yourself briefly.

- Hello! I’m _(Name)_ from RareJob! Hajimemashite! _(Name)_ desu. Rarejob no sensei desu.

- Then, ask the student to briefly introduce himself/herself (name, hobbies).

- It’s nice to meet you (name of student) !OR

・If you already know the student, please say…- Nice to see you again (name of student) !.

- Then, proceed with the lesson.

・Start with the lesson.

- Shall we start with the lesson?

- To write is to form or make letters or words on a piece of paper with a pen or pencil.

- To spell is to make words using letters.

■ Objective : To provide reading/pronunciation practice for the student.



・Practice on reading dialogs.

· Tutor should read the dialogs frst so that the student will hear how to pronounce the words.

・Assign roles. (e.g. Tutor will read A and student will read B.)

・Exchange roles with the student if student reads fast.



· Do not exchange roles with the student if the student is having a diffcult time reading the

dialogs.


・EXERCISE 2 LET'S PRACTICE!

- In this exercise we will read the dialogs together. Kaiwa o yomimashou.

・Start by reading the dialog per sentence.

- Let’s start with dialog 2-A. Please repeat after me. Kaiwa 2 no A o Kurikaeshitekudasai.

・Then let your student read A while you read B.

- Now you will read A and I will read B. Anata wa A o yonde kudasai, Watashi wa B o yomimasu.

・Continue with 2-B. Start by reading the dialog per sentence.

- Let’s read dialog 2-B. Please repeat after me. Kaiwa 2 no B o Kurikaeshitekudasai.

・Then let your student read B while you read A.

- I will read A and you will read B. Watashi wa A o yomimasu, anata wa B o yonde kudasai.

- Good job!

EXERCISE 3: LET’S DISCUSS!（表現）


3 - A: “Please use the chat box.”（チャットボックスを使ってください。)

We use this expression when WE CANNOT HEAR or UNDERSTAND what THE SPEAKER

is saying. It can only be used on SKYPE or similar applications.

（相手の声が聞こえない時や、わからない時、この表現が使えます。

この表現は、スカイプなどを使っている際に使えます。）

3 - B: We can also say...（他にも、次のように言えます。）

A:Can you please type/spell it in the chat box?（チャットボックスに文章を入力してもらえますか？）

* You can also say “I’m sorry, but I can’t understand” to let the speaker know that you did not understand clearly.

（わからないと相手に伝えるため、“I’m sorry, but I can’t understand” と言ってみましょう。）

3 - C: How should I answer it?（どう答えるのでしょうか？）

You can say…（次のように言えます。）

"I have typed it in the chat box. Can you see it?”

（チャットボックスに入力しました。見られますか？）

■ Objective :To provide explanation of words and expressions used in the lesson.



・Introduce discussion exercise.

・Read the explanation to the student. Ask follow up question (i.e. Do you understand?)

・Let the student read the examples given in the lesson.


・Do not give long explanations to the student since this might confuse or overwhelm the student.
