LYCOPODIUM AND
NRX PROJECT CLOUD

PROJECT BACKGROUNDLycopodium Asset Management were required to develop
BOMs with high quality information attached to the
assemblies and sub-assemblies to assist in the searching
and identification of items.
Lycopodium Asset Management had an existing in-house
developed tool for BOM building based on Microsoft Access,
however this tool would have required significant additional
enhancements prior to being used on this project. A
decision needed to be made as to whether the existing tool
would be enhanced, a completely new tool developed, or
whether to use a commercially available software platform.
An additional consideration was that this project required
the use of personnel from Lycopodium Asset Management’s
high value engineering centre in Manila to execute the
project, with resources in Lycopodium Asset Management’s
Perth offices overseeing the project, providing quality
assurance and liaising with the client.
WHY NRX?Lycopodium Asset Management chose NRX Project
Cloud as their platform for this project. As a commercial
software platform it removed the need for custom software
development and being deployed on the cloud it allowed
resources in Perth and Manila to gain easy access to
the same database. Lycopodium’s Asset Management’s
instance of NRX Project Cloud was deployed in Singapore
to give both offices high speed access.
NRX Project Cloud allowed Lycopodium Asset Management
to focus on the BOM building project and leave system
administration functions to the NRX team. With thesolution on the cloud, NRX was able to quickly react to any
issues in the system as they arose.
PROJECT EXECUTIONLycopodium Asset Management received the following
information from the client’s EPCM Contractors, along with
continuous updates to that data:
• Asset register which was loaded into the NRX Project
Cloud plant
• SAP Materials which are loaded into the NRX Project
Cloud enterprise and attached to the relevant plants.
• Maintainable Unit Profiles: The hierarchy of assemblies
and sub-assemblies for each maintainable unit
Drawings were reviewed to determine which materials needed
to be added to each assembly and sub-assembly and those
materials were added to the appropriate material BOM.
As the BOMs were completed they were exported from NRX
Project Cloud in the client’s SAP load spreadsheet template
for submission to the client’s master data team for upload
into SAP.
CURRENT PROJECTSWith the success of the BOM building project for the
capacity expansion project’s ship loaders behind them,
Lycopodium Asset Management have moved onto additional
expansion projects:
Primary Crushing Systems BOM Project
• Primary crushing circuits
Main Ore Processing Facility BOM Project
• Screening
• Crushers
• Stackers
• Train Loaders
