Las mangueras y ensambles tienen un tiempo de vida finito y muchas cosas pueden reducir ese tiempo. Estas recomendaciones debenser leídas por diseñadores y usuarios de mangueras para ayudarlos a realizar la adecuada selección de las mismas. Esta guía aunque no incluye todo, asistirá al usuario a mantener sus sistemas hidráulicos y neumáticos.

PARTEUNO-¿Cómoseleccionarlamanguera?•Presión – La presión máxima de operación de la manguera debe ser mayor o igual a la presión del sistema. Los golpes de ariete o picos de presión en exceso del sistema, ocasionaran una disminución en el tiempo de vida de la manguera, esto debe ser evitado.•Temperatura –Las temperaturas del ambiente y los fluidos no deben de exceder los máximos diseñados para las mangueras y conexiones. Evite exponer la manguera a una fuente de temperatura alta.•Tamaño -Un adecuado tamaño de mangueras y conexiones evita el daño a la manguera por turbulencia excesiva o acumulación de calor, mientras se mantenga un adecuado flujo y presión (Refiérase al nomograma de velocidad de fluidos en Cat.4900-USA). •Compatibilidad de Fluidos – Refiérase a la guía de compatibilidad química en el catálogo 4900-USA para el uso de fluidos con diferentes materiales. Si no está seguro de la aplicación, contacte a Parker. Se debe de tener especial atención con las aplicaciones de gases (Véase Guía de Seguridad en catálogo 4900-USA).•Ambiente – Las condiciones como el ozono, rayos UV, químicos agresivos, agua salina y otros contaminantes en el ambiente pueden degradar la manguera y reducir su tiempo de vida.•Longitud-La longitud de la manguera cambia con la presión. Esto junto con equipo de movimiento, debe de ser considerado para el diseño del sistema.•Coples adecuados – Siempre siga las especificaciones de quien manufactura, no mezcle componentes de diferentes marcas.•Cargas mecánicas – Las condiciones de cargas laterales y de tensión, vibración, flexión excesiva y torsión, reducirán el tiempo de vida de la manguera. Conexiones giratorias y adaptadores para evitar la torsión de la manguera. Pruebe la manguera si la aplicación es potencialmente problemática o inusual.•Conductividad eléctrica - Determine si la manguera debe de ser no-conductiva para evitar flujo de corriente eléctrica o conductividad eléctrica para disipar la electricidad estática. Elija la manguera y las conexiones de acuerdo a lo requerido (Vea la guía de seguridad para aspectos de conductividad eléctrica).

PARTEDOS–InstalaciónyMantenimiento• Inspeccione los componentes – Revise si la manguera tiene grietas en la cubierta, ampollas, torceduras, si el tubo interior está obstruido o cualquier otro defecto. Examine las conexiones, identifique posibles cuerdas en mal estado, grietas, obstrucciones, oxidación o desgaste. No utilice mangueras y conexiones si alguno de estos problemas se presenta.• Ensamble de acuerdo a las instrucciones contenidas en el catálogo 4900-USA.• No exceda las especificaciones del mínimo radio de dobles. Utilice los liberadores de esfuerzos para prevenir curvas cerradas en la coyuntura entre la manguera y las conexiones, estos pueden ser “Spring Guards” o bien, otros liberadores de esfuerzo.•Asegúrese que la manguera doble en lugar de que gire si hay equipo en movimiento.•Utilice una llave de torque o el número de vueltas especificado para la correcta instalación de las conexiones al puerto.•Después de la instalación, elimine el aire atrapado en el sistema, presurice a la máxima presión de operación y compruebe que no hay fugas y que funcione adecuadamente el sistema.•Después de la instalación, periódicamente (la frecuencia dependerá de la severidad de la aplicación y del riesgo potencial que presente) inspeccione lo siguiente:

1. Manguera degradada, ampollada o cubiertas sueltas.2. Manguera rígida, agrietada o carbonizada.3. Cortes o abrasión en la manguera. Busque refuerzos expuestos, estos no deben de presentarse.4. Fugas en la manguera o conexiones. 5. Conexiones dañadas o con corrosión.6. Acumulación excesiva de suciedad, grasa, aceites, etc 7. Dispositivos de clampeo rotos o defectuosos. 8. Torceduras en manguera.

Si detecta alguno de estos puntos, repare o reemplace, NOLOSIGNORE.

Pruebe de nuevo el sistema después de cualquier mantenimiento.•Establezca programas de reemplazo en base a servicios previos o cuando la falla pueda resultar en daño, lesión a la persona y excesivo o inaceptable tiempo inactivo.
