    1. Introduction Introduce children to the work o Andy Warhol. Show them some examples

    o his work, read through his biography ound on the website and go throughthe procedure or recreating work in his style.

    2. Te main activity Divide the children into our groups.Group 1: Children use Masterclass on the GridClub website to recreate apattern o images in the style o Warhol, save them and print them out.Group 2: Work with the images they have brought in rom home. raceover in pencil and scan into the computer. Save and manipulate the imageby changing the colour density. Save our separate copies o the same image(dierent colours) and print each one out. Place them onto a coloured sheet

    o backing paper and when youre happy with the layout, glue and display.Group 3: Choose a can and make a sketch using a 2B pencil. Youngerchildren may need a photocopiable outline o a can as a basis. Remind themnot to shade inside the can but to try and copy the writing and any otherimage. Check there are no gaps. Scan the drawing and save as a bitmap le.Using any Paint package, choose the ll tool to add colour to the work andsave. Copy the image, change the colour and save again. Repeat until there areour separate images. Print out each image and, as beore, glue onto backingpaper.Group 4: Use a digital camera to take a picture o a riend or object. Copy

    onto computer and save. Copy the image again and manipulate it using thevarious eects controls in the paint package. Encourage experimentation.Ask children to write down each step they take so they can repeat the wholeprocess at any time in the uture.NB I children are waiting to use the scanner or soware, encourage them tomake drawings rom Warhol images. Colour using elt pen or oil pastels.

    3. Plenary andollow-up

    Discuss the dierent methods used which worked well, which proveddifcult and suggest ways o overcoming difculties or improving work.

    Comment on the dierences and similarities between their own work andthat o the artist.

    Homeworkopportunity

    Use the internet or visit the library to nd out acts about pop art and otherartists who contributed to this movement.
