Toronto is a great city. It is a very big city. There are a lot of peo-

ple and cars. It was busy when we visited. There are a lot of new

and old buildings. For example, there is the Old City Hall and

the CN Tower. It is very is very tall.. It’s 475 meters in height.

Toronto looks like Tokyo. There are a lot of shops. I was happy

when I saw the GO train. I didn’t see trains like this in Welland.

TORONTO

By: Lihua He It really is a great honor to have this oppor-

tunity to visit Toronto. It has not only expanded my

horizons but it’s also made me happy I chose to

come to school in Canada. I saw the CN Tower in

Toronto. It is so big and the views are amazing. It

is the defining feature of Toronto’s skyline. It was

thrilling to see it.

Toronto is the most populous city in Canada and is the

provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern On-

tario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. There

are so many things to do in Toronto. Toronto is a diversi-

fied city. Chinatown is my favorite place in Toronto. It

makes me very happy and I feel at home. Toronto is a big

city like Shanghai. Toronto covers an area of 630 square

kilometres,with a maximum north-south distance of 21

kilometres and a maximum east-west distance of 43 kilo-

metres. There are many people in this city and they are all

very busy. The CN Tower is the most famous building in

Toronto. It is so tall and beautiful.

Last week I went to Toronto, Canada.

We went to Chinatown first and we

saw lots of Chinese restaurants. My

friend and I chose a very famous hot

pot restaurant to eat at. We went shop-

ping in the Eaton Center . They have

many famous luxury stores and fash-

ionable boutique stores. I bought per-

fume. And my friend bought maple

syrup. We loved our time in Toronto.

When I first saw Toronto, my first impression was how

multi-cultural it was. It is!

Toronto is the biggest city in Canada. 49% of the city’ s

population was born in another country. This is the most

comfortable city to live in because of the low crime rate

and environment.

I’d been to China Town and CN Tower when I was in

Chinatown. It was familiar to me and reminded me of

home. There are many restaurants and stores We had a

good time there and I want to visit Toronto again.

I Ioved Toronto. It’s a big and modern city with many skyscrapers.

The tallest structure – is the CN Tower. It’s amazing but when you’re

there, you realize it’s just a big concrete building.

Also, we went to the Blue Jays game but it was boring. Baseball is not

my favorite sport.

After this game we went to Chinatown, Toronto – it’s one of the most

multicultural cities in the world. Many immigrant cultures have

brought their traditions and music. It is a city of many museums, the-

atres, and sports activities. I am going back to Toronto before I leave

Niagara College

I’m at Niagara College and I’m studying English.

Niagara College is in Canada. The time difference

between Niagara College, Canada and Seoul is 13

hours. Niagara College has 3 campuses. I’m study-

ing at the Welland Campus. I lived in the Niagara

College Residence for one month. Niagara College is

a very beautiful school. Niagara College’s systems

are very great!! My class is ESL B at the college. I

like Niagara College and I like my classmates.

Page 10: Memory book ESL B August 2014

Toronto

By: Sachiko Tanno There are a lot of people in Toronto.

All the buildings were big. We went shopping in

Toronto, and it was so much fun.

I love shopping but it was very tiring trying to

see all the shops.

Toronto is a very modern city.

There are a lot of shops for rich people.

Toronto is similar to Tokyo.

I like Toronto but I like quieter places like Wel-

land.

We need a lot of time to look around all the fa-

mous place in Toronto.

Toronto

By: Zhenling Lei This is the first time I went abroad, and also this the first

time I visited Toronto. Toronto is a large and prosperous city

in my mind. It’s also a busy city like Shanghai. In Toronto I

went to the Chinatown. I think it’s not good because the Chi-

natown in TO is different from the real China. There are just

many Chinese in Chinatown in my eyes. On the other hand,

there are lots of high buildings here like City Hall. I have to

say it’s very magnificent. I took many pictures of City Hall. I

like the City Hall in Toronto. The trip to Toronto is a memo-

rable experience in my memory.

Niagara Falls

By: Takuya Asamto

Our day is Niagara Falls was so much fun!

The Hornblower Boat went very close to the

Falls and we all got wet. I always wanted to

see the Falls and I will never forget this. I

want to go back on the boat before we go

back to Japan.

When I first came to Canada, I thought that there are many

friendly people. Who live here. There is a lot of nature and

the houses are comfortable to live in. When I was walking

the street, I saw many maple trees. I feel that Canadian

people love dogs a lot. Compare with Japan, the houses

are similar and cute, but Canadians eat dinner very early.

Im aattending Niagara College and I really like it. Niagara

College is pretty big and has a lot of trees. There are many

teachers who are kind and funny. I like Canada and my fa-

vorite country is now Canada. I want to go many places in

Canada.

There are many big trees in Canada. There are some

trees in Japan but they are not as big as the ones here. In Ja-

pan, they are only 2 to 3 meters tall. It’s cold in Welland. In

Osaka Japan the humidity is high, but in Canada it is low. It’s

very cold at night in Canada. There are different foods to eat

in Canada. For example, a sandwich is very big. I think a Ca-

nadian sandwich is three times bigger than in Japan. Traffic

lanes are on the right side and the left hand side in Canada,

but it is the left side and right side in Japan. Canada is a huge

country so the population density is low. Japan is small but

the population density is very high. Canadian houses have a

basement but Japanese houses don’t have a basement. I am

loving my time in Canada and I am enjoying my time at the

college.

Our day at Niagara Falls was so fun. I wanted to see the

Falls and I was so excited. Before I left Japan, I told all

my friends about it and they were happy for me. It was a

great day and we all had so much fun.

Vising Niagara Falls was so much

fun. I could not believe I was there.

The boat went close to the Falls and

we could see and feel the power of

the falls. I took many pictures to show

my family back home. I want to go

the Falls again before we go home.

Going to Niagara Falls was amazing! I

had wanted to go to the Falls for a long

time. In Japan, Niagara Falls is a fa-

mous place to visit in Canada. I can say

I have been there. The power of the

Falls is great. I learned that the Falls

supplies a lot of power for Ontario. I

want to go the Falls again before we go
