New Year, New You Challenge Registration

Health Promotions is hosting a fitness challenge for the Yokosuka community. Register until Jan. 28 at Health Promotions on Fleet Recreation’s 3rd floor. There are three prize categories: overall weight lost, overall decrease in body fat and most participation points earned. For more information, call 243-9776.

Ikego Hills Bonfire

CFAY will hold a bonfire at Ikego Hills to celebrate the New Year. Come out for an evening of fun at Ikego Ball Field #5. Enjoy hot food, warm drinks and on-stage entertainment. For more information, call the Ikego MWR Program Office at 246-8071 or 046-806-8071.

YOKOSUKA SPRING FESTIVAL VENDOR

REGISTRATIONVendor booth registration opens Jan. 25 and closes Feb. 8. Applicants must be registered private organizations with CFAY Legal and be current and in good standing in accordance with COMFLEACTINST 5760.5E. There will be a mandatory meeting for registered participants on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. in the AOB auditorium, FFSC 4th floor. U.S. EMBASSY AND CITIZENSHIP TOKYO OUTREACH EVENT

CONSTRUCTION AND CLOSURESCommunication Line Testing at King, Howard, Halsey, Nimitz, Gridley and Rickert: Partial lane closures until Jan. 31.

Replace Steam Line at Benny Decker Theater (Building 1464): Clement Boulevard will be partially closed (one lane) and Kauffman Street will be completely closed (at intersection with Clement) until Feb. 20.

Third Avenue Steam Pipe Replacement: Full road closure on Third Avenue between Fourth Avenue and Gridley Lane until April 29. Parking lot access will be provided to Nanaban and Hachiban

residents during the duration of the project.

Building A61, SRF-JRMC Warehouse: Road on the Southeast side of A61 will be partially closed (one lane) due to crane operations until Feb. 28.

TPU Building Renovation: Until August, parking will be unavailable.

Building 1969: Until August, parking spaces and access around the building will be unavailable due to renovation.

Building C21, Command Hill: Parking will be limited during the demolition and reconstruction of Building C21 until December.

In December, CFAY introduced a new afternoon rush hour outbound traffic pattern at Womble Gate. Womble Gate now has two lanes for outbound traffic. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, the far left lane is designated "Left Turn Only" and the middle outbound lane is only for traffic heading straight to the Route 16 intersection.
