Q: What kinds of topics will be covered during this seven-week program? Group members will clarify goals for recovery and develop skills to regulate intense emotions that lead to ineffective behaviors such as restricting, bingeing, purging, over-exercising, emotionally eating or self-harm. Members will also learn strategies to combat negative self-talk that intensifies body image distress, anxiety & depression, and low self-esteem. Throughout the program, members will be developing a personal relapse prevention plan that will uniquely address each member’s struggles.

Q: Can I join the group once it’s started? While you will benefit most from participating in the program from beginning to end, some new members will be allowed to join the group once it has started.

Q: Is this group covered by my insurance? Depending on your insurance provider & your personal benefits, participation in this group may be covered by your insurance. Be sure to check with your insurance or contact our office and we’ll gladly double-check for you. Verifying the accuracy of this information is your responsibility. If covered by insurance, then you will only be responsible for your deductible.

Q: Can I pay for my sessions weekly? Participants are asked to pay for all sessions prior to starting the program. Refunds are not provided, and membership is non-transferable.

Confidentiality Matters >>>

About The Facilitator

“Every addiction serves a function and meets a personal need. Until that function is no longer necessary & that need is met in healthy ways, the addiction will persist.”

The responsibility for confidentiality is shared among the group leader(s) and all group members. Every member participating in this group is required to sign an agreement to adhere to our rules of confidentiality. Group members make a personal pledge that nothing occurring in the group, including names of other group members, will be shared with anyone outside of the group. These rules are critical to the development of a safe, respectful, and trusting atmosphere that allows individuals to openly share their feelings.

Because living in recovery is a journey worth pursuing.

Group counseling has been found to be a very effective means of treatment because it challenges members to use their voices, address social dynamics and gain support

from others with similar struggles.
