New winter hours in place

Additionally, Lan Su has made changes to the winter schedule Lan Su now closes at 4 pm from November 1-March 14

Lan Su is proud to announce the release of an updated edition of Dr Charles Wu’s seminal work on poetry and couplets in the garden, Listen to the Fragrance: Literary Inscriptions in Lan Su Chinese Garden

The result of nearly a year’s efforts, the new edition builds upon the framework of the wildly successful first edition with all new color photographs and maps

Donald Jenkins, Curator Emeritus of Asian Art of the Portland Art Museum, said recently about Listen to the Fragrance, “Charles Wu leads us into the heart of Chinese garden culture in a way that no other author has ever done His translations of the many calligraphic inscriptions scattered throughout the garden provide us with subtle hints and revealing insights that enhance the experience of our visit at every step along the way It is as though we had a scholar poet from the Ming dynasty at our side”

Listen to the Fragrance is now available for $1995 in the Garden Shop and is a must-read for any fan of Lan Su

As a special thank you for supporting Lan Su, members will receive an extra 10% discount (20% total!) on Garden Shop items in the month of December
