TECHNICAL DATA

Customer complaint

 – Illumination of the ESP warning light on the

instrument panel.

Fault finding

 – Connect the CLIP diagnostic tool

 – Establish dialogue with the ABS / ESP computer.

 – Check for fault DF088 (pressure sensor circuit):

• If fault DF088 is present (present or stored):

 – Carry out the operation.

• If fault DF088 is absent:

 – The vehicle is not affected by this OTS.

Operation to be carried out

 – Replacement of the ABS/ESP hydraulic unit.

Description of the operation

 – Disconnect the battery.

 – Replace the ABS/ESP hydraulic unit (see

Hydraulic unit with ESP: Removal – Refitting)

(MR 395, 402 or 405 Chassis, 38C, Anti-lock

braking system).

 – Reconnect the battery.

Marking the vehicle after work has been carried

out

 – Affix a blue label:

part no.: 49 39 031 079 to the driver's side front

shock absorber turret.

 – Mark a cross in box I5 using a marker pen.

405, Electrical equipment, 80A, Battery).

Carry out the necessary programming (see
