Automobile – One of the major use cases of 5G will be connected cars
coupled with AR/VR. Requirements of communication network with
extremely high data rate and very low latency would be achieved by 5G
network.
Industrial – Progress on IIoT have always been limited by lack of
industry-grade reliable network. 5G would not only offer reliable network
but would also provide an extremely secure network for IIoT by
integrating security in its network architecture.
Telecommunication service providers will look to replace their fiber
network using wireless broadband- a reality with 5G network. This
would significantly drop the costs incurred in laying fiber optic cable for
home broadband.
Healthcare –The requirement for real-time networks will be achieved
using 5G which significantly transform the healthcare industry. Use
cases include live transmission of 8K surgery videos that can be
remotely monitored .
AR/VR will now revolutionize customer experience in gaming, retail
shopping and other customer centric applications. Consumer
experience will be enhanced as high data rates are achieved.

Due to demand for capacity,
reliability and security,
hyperscaler companies are
building their own deep sea
cables (e.g. Google is investing
in 9,500 km cable which can
carry 100 terabits of traffic)
