L’ottava edizione della Leggendaria Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bon-done - Trofeo Wilier Triestina sarà un’edizione da non dimenticare.Oltre 2.700 i ciclisti pronti a tagliare il nastro di partenza nella sugge-stiva cornice di Piazza Duomo. Numeri da record anche per la varietà dei Paesi di provenienza: questa edizione porta a Trento appassio-nati delle due ruote da ben 30 diverse nazioni.Risultati frutto della filosofia che ha ispirato questa manifestazione fin dagli esordi. Coniugare la passione sportiva per le due ruote con la possibilità di godere di un paesaggio naturale di rara bellezza è da sempre il punto di forza della granfondo trentina e il fattore che le ha permesso di conquistare alcuni dei più autorevoli riconoscimenti di settore a livello nazionale ed estero. Da ultimo l’inserimento della Leggendaria quale unica tappa italiana dell’UCI World Cycling Tour e l’assegnazione del campionato del mondo su strada master e ama-tori che si terrà a Trento dal 19 al 22 settembre 2013.Una cronometro di 24 chilomentri e due percorsi, uno medio di 58 chilometri e uno lungo di 142 chilometri. Non mancheranno le grandi emozioni e i paesaggi mozzafiato. Alla partenza, inoltre, ci saranno griglie e pettorali colorati per facilitare il via.Particolarmente ricco sarà anche il parterre dei vip. Schierati in pri-ma fila ci saranno alcuni tra i nomi più illustri dello sport italiano, Francesco Moser, Maurizio Fondriest, Matteo Anesi, Cristian Zorzi, Antonio Rossi, Jury Chechi e Stefano Baldini. E ancora i campioni del mondo in carica di cronometro e granfondo e i nomi dei responsabili di altre gare di prestigio nel panorama ciclofondistico e i sindaci-ci-clisti di alcune città alpine, ma soprattutto i realizzatori di altre im-portanti Gran Fondo provenienti da Austria, Cipro, USA e Portogallo, accanto ai rappresentanti di alcune delle più prestigiose granfondo italiane.Quest’anno, inoltre, la Charly Gaul porta avanti la scelta di essere una gara rispettosa dell’ambiente con un’organizzazione ecocom-patibile. Un’attenzione che si rafforza grazie alla collaborazione con la Green Gang Eco Cyclo.Particolare cura sarà dedicata anche all’alimentazione dei ciclisti: nei ristori saranno serviti prodotti del Trentino di alta qualità, pensati appositamente per le esigenze degli atleti dal dottor Pizzinini. La Charly Gaul è una grande manifestazione sportiva, ma è anche occasione per conoscere il nostro ambito turistico, un territorio dalla grande varietà in cui sport, cultura, ambiente e gastronomia sono grandi protagonisti. È con questa convinzione che l’APT Trento, Monte Bondone, Valle dei Laghi e l’ASD Charly Gaul internazionale si impegnano, da sempre, nella riuscita di questa manifestazione.Un grazie sentito a tutti quanti hanno contribuito all’organizzazione di questo evento. The eighth edition of the legendary Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bon-done - Trophy Wilier Triestina will be a competition to remember.Over 2,700 cyclists are ready to cut the starting ribbon in the pictur-esque setting of Piazza Duomo. Record numbers also for the variety of countries of origin: this edition brings to Trento the two wheels enthusiasts from over 30 different countries, showing the result of the philosophy that has inspired this event since its beginning. Combining the sporting passion for two wheels with the opportu-nity to enjoy a landscape of outstanding natural beauty has always been the strong point of the Granfondo Trentina and the factor that has let to win over some of the most influential awards in this sec-tor at national and international level. Finally, the insertion also of the Legendary as the only Italian stop of the UCI World Cycling Tour and the award of the world championship road masters and ama-teurs to be held in Trento from 19th to 22nd September.A 24 kilometers time trial and two paths, one medium and one long 58 kilometers of 142 kilometers. We will not miss the great emo-tions and breathtaking landscapes. At the start, in addition, there will be grids and numbers colored to facilitate the start.Particularly rich will be also the number of VIPs. Lined in the first row there will be some of the most illustrious names of Italian sport: Francesco Moser, Maurizio Fondriest, Matteo Anesi, Cristian Zorzi, Antonio Rossi, Jury Chechi and Stefano Baldini. And still the world champions in charge of the time trial and Granfondo.In addition to that, heads of other races prestige in Ciclofondistico and mayors of some alpine cities-cyclists, but especially the mak-ers of other important Gran Fondo coming from Austria, Cyprus, USA and Portugal, alogside the representatives of some of the most prestigious Italian Gran Fondo. This year the Charly Gaul brings forward the choice to be an envi-ronmentally friendly event with an eco – compatible organization. This focus is strengthened through the collaboration with the Gang Green Eco Cyclo.Particular attention will also be reserved to the cyclists food: re-freshments stop will serve Trentino products of high quality, de-signed specifically for the needs of athletes by Dr. Pizzinini.The Charly Gaul is a major sporting event, but it is also an opportu-nity to get to know our territory, an area in which the great variety sport, culture, environment and gastronomy are the major players. Ritorna la Leggendaria Charly Gaul, la gara di gran fondo del Monte Bondone e della città di Trento che ai tanti appassionati della bi-cicletta offre l’opportunità di rivivere il fascino e la memoria di un avvenimento sportivo che ha segnato la storia stessa del ciclismo. Non si spegne il ricordo di quell’epica tappa del Giro d’Italia che, nella neve e nel gelo, rivelò al mondo la classe e la tenacia dello scalatore lussemburghese. In quella giornata del 1956 fatica e determinazio-ne, perseveranza e ostinazione furono ingredienti imprescindibili di tutti i protagonisti. Ed è bello oggi salutare tutti coloro che della Leg-gendaria Charly Gaul sono, di nuovo, protagonisti. Dagli organizzato-

ri a chi assicura l’indispensabile supporto logistico, a chi pedala sulle tracce di un campione indimenticabile e di una giornata memorabile, scoprendo così anche la bellezza del territorio trentino. Sport e ago-nismo vanno qui a fondersi con la tutela e la vivibilità dell’ambiente naturale, in un appuntamento che anno dopo anno conferma di es-sere importante e atteso all’interno del calendario sportivo.

And it’s a pleasure, today, to greet all those who are, once again, the protagonists of the Legendary Charly Gaul: from the organizers to those who ensure the necessary logistic support, to those who ride on the trail of such a champion, reviving an unforgettable and memorable day and benefiting from the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Trentino region. I due percorsi proposti, gran fondo e medio fondo vengono infatti affrontati da tantissimi cicloamatori e cicloturisti. Con un caloroso benvenuto saluto tutti i partecipanti ed auguro che

la gara sia occasione preziosa anche per ammirare le bellezze del Trentino. Infine, un doveroso grazie agli organizzatori dell’evento e ai quasi 400 volontari coinvolti. Il loro apporto è decisivo per far sì che questa manifestazione, davvero speciale, sia sempre più orgogliosa testimonianza dello spirito sportivo, ma anche di impegno e di soli-darietà della nostra terra.

The determination, commitment, enthusiasm which were at the core of the success of Charly Gaul are nowadays values shared by many participants when facing this challenging race and the neces-sary training that precedes it. The two proposed courses - Gran-fondo, Mediofondo are indeed faced by cyclo amateurs. A warm welcome greet all the participants and I wish the race will be also a precious opportunity to admire the beauty of Trentino. Finally, a great thank you to the organizers of the event and nearly 400 volun-teers involved. Una gara avvincente, la “Leggendaria Charly Gaul”, che nel corso de-gli anni è divenuta un appuntamento sempre più sentito e atteso tra gli appassionati delle due ruote. Una competizione che sa coinvol-gere ed emozionare, contribuendo nel contempo a conferire grande visibilità alle nostre bellezze paesaggistico ambientali. La partenza da Piazza Duomo a Trento, la validità per la Finale Mon-diale UWCT, l’attraversamento di località importanti dal punto di vista culturale, storico e anche sportivo come la salita verso Palù di Giovo, paese d’origine di personaggi che hanno fatto la storia del ciclismo come Francesco Moser e Gilberto Simoni, oltre al classico arrivo sul Monte Bondone, riempiono questa gara di significati spor-tivi e paesaggistici davvero importanti.In Trentino l’ambiente è perno di un sistema che pone al centro la

Taglia il traguardo dell’ottava edizione la Leggendaria Charly Gaul. Dal 2006 la manifestazione è cresciuta in maniera esplosiva.Un successo motivato dal fatto che questo appuntamento ormai tradizionale si dimostra anno dopo anno capace di interpretare il ci-clismo vero, quello che ci incatena al televisore a seguire le prodezze dei nostri campioni e ci spinge ad inforcare la bicicletta non per ga-reggiare, ma per godere in modo diverso del contatto con la natura, un ciclismo fatto di passione, costanza e forza di volontà.Per questo, oltre a catturare l’attenzione del pubblico e la partecipa-zione degli appassionati, la validità della proposta sportiva, che si di-vide nella Granfondo e nella prova a cronometro, unita alla capacità e alla lungimiranza degli organizzatori, ha portato al riconoscimento della gara a livello internazionale e addirittura mondiale.Ma la Leggendaria Charly Gaul non si ferma certo qui e guarda al futuro, coinvolgendo i giovanissimi ciclisti di domani nella mini com-petizione in programma nella splendida cornice di piazza Duomo.E non c’è solo lo sport, perché la tre giorni dedicata alla due ruote è

The Legendary Charly Gaul crosses the finish line of the eighth edi-tion. Since 2006 the event has grown explosively. A success motiva-ted by the fact that this traditional event year after year is capable to interpret the cycling true. For this reason, in addition to capturing the public’s attention and participation of the fans, the validity of the proposed sports, which is divided into the gran fondo and in the time trial, together with the ability and foresight of the organizers, the competition has gained the recognition of the race at international and even world level. Per questa ragione per un atleta non c’è mai fatica così grande e impegno così elevato da non valere la pena di essere affrontato per vivere la bellezza di una sfida sportiva.Questo è ancora più vero quando l’agonismo lascia il campo al divertimento e una gara può essere vissuta fino in fondo, go-dendo di ogni piccolo frammento.è per questa ragione che anche in questa ottava edizione, per la terza volta, siamo pronti a schierarci ai nastri di partenza della leggendaria Charly Gaul. Per noi la maratona ciclistica sul Monte Bondone non sarà solo l’occasione per confrontarci, noi speciali-sti di discipline diverse, con le due ruote nel ricordo dell’impresa leggendaria del mitico ciclista lussemburghese, ma sarà anche un modo nuovo per godere di un territorio meraviglioso, dei suoi paesaggi e, perché no, delle specialità tutte energia e sobrietà che troveremo nei punti di ristoro.

For us, the cycling marathon on Monte Bondone is not only an opportunity to experience, we specialists of different disciplines, with the two wheels in the memory of the legendary mythi-cal Luxembourg cyclist, but it will also be a new way to enjoy a wonderful region , its landscapes and, why not, all power and simplicity of the specialties that we will find at the refreshments stop.

The UCI World Cycling Tour is very happy to have “la leggendaria Charly Gaul” for the second year in a row as a qualifying event for the

masters and amateurs World Championships. I experienced myself the race last year and saw a professionally organised event with a remarkable itinerary in a beautiful region. Let this “La Leggendaria Charly Gaul” be a very good test event for a great Final later.

L’UCI World Cycling Tour è molto felice di avere “La Leggendaria Charly Gaul” per il secondo anno consecutivo come evento di qua-lificazione per il Campionato del Mondo Cicloamatori. Io stesso ho potuto sperimentare la gara nella precedente edizione e riscontrato un’organizzazione professionale a supporto di un percorso notevo-le in una splendida regione. Facciamo in modo che quest’anno “La Leggendaria Charly Gaul” sia un buon test per una grande finale a settembre .

CRONOMETRO Estratto del regolamento

Gara a cronometro individuale valida come prova UCI World Cycling Tour. In occasione dell’ottava edizione de La Leg-gendaria Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondo-ne – Trofeo Wilier Triestina, venerdì 19 luglio si tiene una cronometro individuale (fino ad un massimo di 250 iscritti) secondo le mo-dalità previste dal presente regolamento. La cronometro si disputa su una lunghezza totale di 24 km, la prima partenza è fissata per le ore 17.00.

La cronometro individuale è valida come prova di qualificazione alla specialità nel Campionato Mondiale Cicloamatori UCI - UWCT Final Trento 2013 in programma a Cavedine venerdì 20 settembre 2013 e met-te in palio i titoli del Campionato Triveneto.

Ritrovo partenza: ore 16.30 - Cavedine

Partenza: ore 17.00, intervallo partenza ogni 30’’ (trenta secondi).L’ordine di partenza degli iscritti è dal nume-ro di pettorale più alto al numero di pettorale più basso. Il Percorso è valido come unica tappa ita-liana UCI World Cycling Tour e consente ai primi classificati (50%) di qualificarsi alla cro-nometro individuale del Campionato Mon-diale Cicloamatori UCI - UWCT Final Trento 2013 in programma a Cavedine venerdì 20 settembre 2013.

ART. 2 - PARTECIPAZIONE

La manifestazione è aperta a tutti coloro che hanno compiuto i 16 (sedici) anni d’ambo i sessi, tesserati F.C.I. ed Enti di Promozione Sportiva ed altre Federazioni Nazionali in possesso di idoneità medico sportiva per la pratica del ciclismo agonistico e ai cicloa-matori stranieri in regola con la Federazione di appartenenza per l’anno 2013. Per i mi-norenni è necessaria la firma del modulo di iscrizione da parte di uno dei genitori.

Per i non tesserati è obbligatorio attivare una tessera giornaliera della F.C.I. al costo di € 15 per la copertura assicurativa di “re-sponsabilità civile” verso terzi, acquistabile presso l’Ufficio Gare dell’ASD Charly Gaul Internazionale. Per il rilascio della tessera è obbligatorio presentare il certificato medico sportivo, in mancanza è possibile sostenere una visita medica di idoneità sportiva, a pa-

gamento, direttamente a Trento c/o il Presi-dio medico allestito all’Ufficio Gare dell’ASD Charly Gaul a spese a totale carico dell’atleta.

Gli ex atleti agonisti M/F quali ex Professio-nisti, ex Elite, ex Under 23 e ex Donne Elite italiani e stranieri tesserati per il 2013 o per il 2012 possono partecipare solo previo invito scritto del Comitato Organizzatore e sono esclusi da qualsiasi classifica individuale e di società. Per il ritiro del numero è obbligatorio pre-sentare l’originale della tessera ed essere in possesso del certificato medico sportivo in corso di validità.

Per i gruppi sportivi, la cui iscrizione potrà essere cumulativa a cura della Società, potrà presentarsi al ritiro numeri e pacco gara il solo capogruppo munito degli originali delle tessere degli iscritti.

ART. 8 - CASCO PROTETTIVO OMOLOGATO: obbligatorio

ART. 9 - ASSISTENZA MEDICA: è previsto l’impiego di ambulanza con medico ed in-fermieri.

ART. 10 - ASSISTENZA MECCANICA: è se-veramente vietata da parte di mezzi privati (non predisposti ed autorizzati dal Comitato

Organizzatore) al seguito della corsa, pena la squalifica dell’atleta.

ART. 11 - ANTIDOPING: eventuale controllo antidoping presso il Centro Sportivo di Ca-vedine

ART. 12 – ANNULLAMENTO MANIFESTA-ZIONE:se, per cause di forza maggiore o di qualun-que ulteriore genere non imputabile all’orga-nizzazione la manifestazione non dovesse svolgersi, l’importo di partecipazione non verrà rimborsato. La quota di iscrizione ver-rà considerata valida per il diritto di parteci-pazione per il 2014, diritto che dovrà essere esercitato tramite nuova regolare iscrizione con pagamento dell’integrazione come da regolamento dell’edizione 2014.

ART. 13 – RECLAMI:eventuali reclami dovranno pervenire alla Giuria nei termini regolamentari accompa-gnati dalla tassa prevista dalla F.C.I.

TIME TRIAL Extract of the regulation

Individual Time Trial valid as qualifier event for UCI World Cycling Tour - World Cham-pionships for masters and amateurs Final Trento 2013.

ART. 1

Course: Cavedine – Cavedine: 24 km – 442 dif-ference in heigh

Refreshments: Cavedine, at arrival.

The course is valid as italian stage of UCI World Cycling Tour (The UWCT-Coroporation will keep records of the 50% first athletes of each age category), which UWCT-Final will be held in Trento the next 20th September 2013.

Race numbers: numbers are given following the registration date.

Meeting point: 4.30 pm - Cavedine

Start of the race: at 5.00 pm

ART. 2 - PARTICIPATIONS: Open to all adult male and female riders. Professionals and cyclists of the Elite catego-ry who have a Professional or a Continental contract in the last two years (2013 - 2012) are not admitted to the race. For females the same rule applies. U23 and Elite without contract can participate to the Time Trial - Legendary Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bon-done – Trophy Wilier Triestina, but not before the age of 25. Professionals can be admitted exclusively for promotional purposes and subject to invitation by the Organizing Com-mittee and may not take part in any way in the ranking.

The 2013 Time Trial - Legendary Charly Gaul – Trophy Wilier Triestina is by invitation and the Organising Committee may decide at any time whether to accept or not accept the en-rollment or to exclude at any time an enrolled contestant for the event that may damage the image of the event (such as participants who have been disqualified for the use of drugs).

The cyclists who have not regularly regis-tered for the race cannot join the start, on pain of exclusion. In the event of an accident, they will be reported in accordance with the law.

In order to pick up your race number, you must show your original membership card: Sports team may submit a collective applica-tion. Their race numbers and packages may be picked up only by the head of the group and only upon showing the original member-ship cards or licenses of all the cyclists.

For single registrations the starting number needs to be picked-up personally by showing the cycling license 2013 and an original valid

ID (identity card, passport or driving license) and on handing over a copy of the medical certificate. No copies of ID’s or other ID’s al-lowed. A pickup from third parties is not ac-cepted. If the cyclist does not have a valid cycling li-cense must buy a daily license of the Italian Federation at the cost of euro 15,00. In order to buy the daily license the cyclist must have a valid medical sport certificate; however the athlete must have a medical sportive test in Trento at his own expenses.

ART. 3 - REGISTRATION: On the website www.sdam.it with payment by bank transfer or other payment modali-ties depending on the country, payment with credit cards are allowed as well. The payment fees are shown in the payment procedure and are at the expense of the par-ticipants.

ART. 4 - PARTICIPATION FEES: € 30,00 until 31st January € 40,00 from 1st February to 30th April Special Team Fees: every 10 subscriptions the 11th is for free

The fee includes: race number, refreshment at the Finish, medical assistance, race pack-age with local products of Trentino, promo-tional voucher for the gadget of La Leggen-daria Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondone and shuttle bus go and back from Trento to Cavedine (booking is required).

End of the entry: at 250 participiants or 17th July

Start: At 5.00 pm. The Starting order is based on the enrolment date with start every 30 seconds. Those who delays will be disqualify. The Race will take place with every weather condition.

ART. 8 - RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF THE CYCLISTS: All participants must obey the rules of the road. Check points are set along the routes, from start to finish. Timing shall be measured using the electronic system at start, finish and at several intermediate posts along the route. The electronic controls are peremptorily compulsory both at the start and on the different route. The cyclists that will anticipate the start or will not be checked at the start will not be considered and won’t appear on the official list. Carry the number on the handlebar including the transponder and a number on the back provided by the organisation. The format of these numbers may not be changed. Use the approved hard helmet fastened throughout the race.

ART. 15 - ANTIDOPING: Cyclists subject to penality shall not be allowed to race. Possible antidoping checks will be at the Sport Center Cavedine.

ART. 16 - CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT: If the event has to be cancelled due to excep-tional circumstances there is no refund of the entry fee but the organisation reserves the right to start in 2014 after completing the registration procedure as requested for com-ing edition.

ART. 17 - PROTESTS: Any protests must reach the jury before the specified deadline, together with the fee as laid down in the Ital-ian Cycling Federation regulations.

ART. 18 - COPYRIGHT: by enrolling in the event, the cyclist explicitly authorizes the organizers to use free-of-charge the still and/or motion pictures that will be taken during participation in The Legendary Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondone. The organiz-ers may transfer the rights to these imag-ines, as specified in this agreement, to their institutional and commercial partners. The cyclists’ authorization to use his/her image is understood to be for an unlimited time – as prescribed by all applicable laws, regulations and agreements, with no territorial limits in any part of the world – and for commercial use in publications and videos such as (but not limited to) promotional and advertising materials, on any type of data support.

Sono ancora Trento, il Monte Bondone e la Valle dei Laghi a fare da protagonisti in un anno speciale per il ciclismo in Trentino, ma anche per gli appassio-nati di ciclismo di tutto il mondo. Il Comitato Organizzatore si riserva il diritto di squalificare chiunque non rispetti la propria griglia di partenza asse-gnata e non segua le istruzioni degli addetti. I ritardatari partiranno in ultima griglia. L’uscita dalla città (3,6 km) avverrà in manie-ra controllata. I percorsi sono validi come unica tappa ita-liana UCI World Cycling Tour e consentono ai primi classificati (25% di ciascuna categoria) di qualificarsi al Campionato Mondiale Ci-cloamatori UCI - UWCT Final Trento 2013 in programma il 22 settembre a Trento. La Leggendaria Charly Gaul Trento Mon-te Bondone mette inoltre in palio i titoli di Campione del Triveneto. La Leggendaria Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondone è tappa dei circuiti: Alpe Adria Tour, Circuito Nobili/Supernobili/Trofeo delle Re-gioni e Dalzero.

ART. 1 - PARTECIPAZIONE: La manifestazione è aperta a tutti coloro che hanno compiuto i 16 (sedici) anni d’am-bo i sessi, tesserati F.C.I. ed Enti di Promo-zione Sportiva ed altre Federazioni Nazionali in possesso di idoneità medico sportiva per la pratica del ciclismo agonistico e ai cicloa-matori stranieri in regola con la Federazione di appartenenza per l’anno 2013. Ai mino-renni a partire dai 16 (sedici) anni compiuti, a coloro che hanno superato i 65 (sessanta-cinque) di età ed ai cicloturisti è consentita la partecipazione esclusivamente nel percorso Medio (58 km). Per i minorenni è necessaria la firma del modulo di iscrizione da parte di uno dei genitori. Per i non tesserati è obbligatorio attivare una tessera giornaliera della F.C.I. al costo di € 15 per la copertura assicurativa di “re-sponsabilità civile” verso terzi, acquistabile presso l’Ufficio Gare dell’ASD Charly Gaul Internazionale. Per il rilascio della tessera è

obbligatorio presentare il certificato medico sportivo, in mancanza è possibile sostene-re una visita medica di idoneità sportiva, a pagamento, direttamente a Trento c/o il Presidio medico allestito all’Ufficio Gare dell’ASD Charly Gaul a spese a totale carico dell’atleta. La manifestazione è ad invito ed il Comitato Organizzatore potrà in ogni momento ed a suo insindacabile giudizio decidere se accet-tare o meno l’iscrizione oppure escludere un iscritto dalla manifestazione nel caso possa arrecare danno all’immagine della stessa. Ci si riserva la facoltà di accettare o non ac-cettare richieste di iscrizione di ciclisti che abbiano avuto sanzioni e/o squalifiche in materia di doping. Gli ex atleti agonisti M/F quali ex Professio-nisti, ex Elite, ex Under 23 e ex Donne Elite italiani e stranieri tesserati per il 2013 o per il 2012 possono partecipare solo previo invito scritto del Comitato Organizzatore e sono esclusi da qualsiasi classifica individuale e di società. Per il ritiro del numero è obbligatorio pre-sentare l’originale della tessera ed essere in possesso del certificato medico sportivo in corso di validità. Per i gruppi sportivi, la cui iscrizione potrà essere cumulativa a cura della Società, potrà presentarsi al ritiro numeri e pacco gara il solo capogruppo munito degli originali delle tessere degli iscritti.

ART. 16 - ANNULLAMENTO DELLA MANIFE-STAZIONE: Se, per cause di forza maggiore o di qualunque ulteriore genere non imputabi-le all’organizzazione la manifestazione non dovesse svolgersi, l’importo di partecipazio-ne non verrà ne rimborsato. La quota di iscri-zione verrà considerata valida per il diritto di partecipazione per il 2014, diritto che dovrà essere esercitato tramite nuova regolare iscrizione con pagamento dell’integrazione come da regolamento dell’edizione 2014.

It is recommended to respect the assigned grid. The Organizing Committee has the right to disqualify anyone who does not obey the grid assigned or that does not follow properly the instruction of the staff. Those who delay will start from the last grid. The exit from the city centre of Trento (3,6 km) will be neutralized. The courses are valid as italian stage of UCI World Cycling Tour (The UWCT-Corporation will keep records of the 25% first athletes of each age category), which UCI World Cycling Tour - World Championships for masters and amateurs Final Trento 2013 will be held in Trento the next 22nd September 2013.

ART. 2 - PARTICIPATIONS: Open to all adult male and female riders. Professionals and cyclists of the Elite ca-tegory who have a Professional or a Conti-nental contract in the last two years (2013 - 2012) are not admitted to the race. For fe-males the same rule applies. U23 and Elite without contract can participate to the Le-gendary Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondone – Trophy Wilier Triestina, but not before the age of 25. Professionals can be admitted exclusively for promotional purposes and subject to invitation by the Organizing Com-mittee and may not take part in any way in the ranking. Minors over 16 (sixteen), older than 65 (sixtyfive) and touristriders may also just enter for the medium distance and can not run the long course. The 2013 Legendary Charly Gaul – Trophy Wilier Triestina is by invitation and the Or-ganising Committee may decide at any time whether to accept or not accept the enrol-lment or to exclude at any time an enrolled contestant for the event that may damage the image of the event (such as participants who have been disqualified for the use of drugs). The cyclists who have not regular-ly registered for the race cannot join the groups, on pain of exclusion. In the event of an accident, they will be reported in accor-dance with the law. In order to pick up your race number, you must show your original membership card: those enrolling after July 18th must also present a copy of the application form and a copy of the payment receipt. Sports team may submit a collective appli-cation. Their race numbers and packages may be picked up only by the head of the group and only upon showing the original membership cards or licenses of all the cyclists. For single registrations the starting num-ber needs to be picked-up personally by showing the cycling license 2013 and an original valid ID (identity card, passport or driving license) and on handing over a copy of the medical certificate. No copies of ID’s or other ID’s allowed. A pickup from third par-ties is not accepted. If the cyclist do not have a valid cycling li-cense or a valid medical sport certificate, the athlete must have a medical sportive test in Trento at his own expenses and buy a daily license of the Italian Federation at the cost of euro 15,00.

ART. 3 - REGISTRATION: On the website www.sdam.it with payment by bank transfer or other payment moda-lities depending on the country, payment with credit cards are allowed as well. The payment fees are shown in the pay-ment procedure and are at the expense of the participants. Participation fees: € 38,00 until 31st January € 45,00 from 1st February to 30th April € 55,00 from 1st May to 19th July Special Team Fees: every 10 subscriptions the 11th is for free The fee includes: race number, refre-shments medical assistance, race package with local products of Trentino, the gadget of The Legendary Charly Gaul Trento Mon-te Bondone – Trophy Wilier Triestina, pasta party voucher, shuttle bus service for the clothes from start to arrival, shuttle bus to return to Trento (booking is required). Those unable to participate are not en-titled to any reimbursement of their fee. If a withdrawal is announced before 14th July 2013, the only participation fee can be tran-sferred to 2014. For 2014’s participation it is made compulsory to fill in a new module and send back by paying the difference of participation-fee 2014.

ART. 8 - RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF THE CYCLISTS: For those who do not want to compete for the qualification at the UCI World Cycling Tour - World Championships for masters and amateurs Final Trento 2013 can decide which route they want to perform also after the departure. We kindly ask – when enrolling to the race – to specify which route you are going most to perform. All participants must obey the rules of the road. Check points are set along the routes, from start to finish. Timing shall be mea-sured using the electronic system at start, finish and at several intermediate posts along the route. The electronic controls are peremptorily compulsory both at the start and on the different routes. The cyclists that will anticipate the start or will not be che-cked at the start will not be considered and won’t appear on the official list. Please be aware that the cyclists who are overtaken by the car marked as “fine cor-sa” (“End of the race”) will continue the race just as amateurs and will keep the starting number on the back. In this case, the par-ticipant is warned that the stretch of road is open to traffic. Carry the number on the handlebar including the transponder and a number on the back provided by the orga-nisation. The format of these numbers may not be changed. Use the approved hard hel-met fastened throughout the race.

Timing shall be measured using the electronic system at start, finish and at several intermediate posts along the route. ART. 10 - TIME LIMIT: Gran fondo: 5.00 pm (Gate h. 12.00 am Viote)Medio fondo: 3.00 pm (Gate h. 9.30 am Tren-to – Ponte S. Lorenzo) The times of detour could be edited to pro-tect cyclists’ safety. Further gates could be positioned on discreption of the Organizing Committee.

ART. 15 - ROAD TRAFFIC: For what concerns to the regulation in force, the Art. 9 of the new Italian highway code will be followed. The roads will be closed to the traffic for 15 minutes. The cyclists that will transit after the “end race car” must have to follow the rules of the highway code. During the race the traffic will be open and the highway code has to be followed. The Asd Charly Gaul Internazionale and the whole Organi-zer Committee refuse any responsibility for what could happen before, during and after the event. They refuse any responsibility also for facts which involve cyclists or other people. For what is not specified in the cur-rent regulation F.C.I. is to be considered. As regards the matters envisaged by the re-gulations in force, safety issues shall comply with the provisions of Art. 9 of the new Ita-lian Highway Code. Roads shall be closed to traffic for 15’. Any cyclists transiting behind the “end race car” shall be required to com-ply with the rules of the Highway Code. The cyclists not regularly enrolled that will join the race before the arrival of the “end race car” will be denounced to the autho-rities. No vehicle (scooters, motorcycles, cars, a.s.o.), except for those authorised by the organisation, are allowed to follow the cyclists. Penalty: immediate exclusion from the race.

ART. 16 - MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE: The assistance of private vehicles (except from those who are authorised by the organisa-tion) following the race is strictly prohibi-ted, under penalty of disqualification of the athlete.

ART. 17 - ANTIDOPING: Cyclists subject to penality are not be allo-wed to race.Possible antidoping checks will be at Hotel Montana in Vason-Monte Bondone.

ART. 18 - CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT: If the event has to be cancelled due to excep-tional circumstances there is no refund of the entry fee but the organisation reserve the right to start in 2014 after completing the registration procedure as requested for coming edition.

ART. 19 - PROTESTS: Any protests must reach the jury before the specified deadline, together with the fee as laid down in the Ita-lian Cycling Federation regulations.

I CONSIGLI NUTRIZIONALI DEL DOTTOR PIZZININIDR. PIZZININI’S NUTRITION ADVICES

Idratazione e alimentazione sono gli aspetti più importanti da con-siderare in una gara come la Charly Gaul. È noto infatti che il ren-dimento è inversamente proporzionale all’idratazione corporea: quanto più l’atleta si disidrata, tanto più la sua prestazione fisica è compromessa. In una gara impegnativa come la Charly Gaul, che si svolge sotto il sole di fine luglio, l’idratazione diventa quindi fonda-mentale. Per ovviare a problemi di disidratazione sono stati disposti lungo i percorsi 12 posti di ristoro, collocati in maniera tale che gli atleti abbiano la possibilità di approvvigionarsi di liquidi con rego-larità. Quando la prestazione fisica si protrae è indispensabile pro-grammare anche una corretta alimentazione. Dal 2011 la sfida degli organizzatori è stata quella di coniugare una corretta alimentazione per uno sforzo eccezionale con la bontà dei prodotti del Trentino. Ebbene crediamo, con soddisfazione, che il risultato sia stato rag-giunto. Sicuri che anche i partecipanti alla gara apprezzeranno que-sto sforzo, attendiamo il loro giudizio.

Hydration and nutrition are the most important aspects to be con-sidered in a competition like La Leggendaria Charly Gaul. It is well-known that an athlete’s performance is in inverse relation to his/her physical hydration: the more an athlete dehydrates, the more his/her physical performance is compromised. In a demanding competion like La Leggendaria Charly Gaul, which takes place under the sun of the end of July, hydration becomes consequently basic. To avoid dehydration problems 12 refreshments are placed dur-ing the routes so that the athletes can be regularly supplied with drinks. When the physical performance lasts for quite some time, also the planning of a correct diet becomes essential. Since 2011 the organization’s challenge has been that one of combining a correct diet with the good quality of Trentino’s products. Well, we believe with satisfaction that we got the wished results. Sure that also the participants in the competition will appreciate this effort, we are waiting for their opinion.
